Bonaire Day 5

Today is a four dive day: two in the morning, one in the afternoon, and a night dive. I'll get to check out my new lighting system. This is a light that attaches to my mask. The miner type light I used last year wasn't bright enough. Since I swim with my arms, it's kinda hard to use a hand held lamp.

I actually remember all the dives we did today.

Dive 1 – Alice in Wonderland

Dive 2 – Windsock.

Dive 3 – Cliff

Our night dive will be the reef off of the resort.

I've mentioned it before, but one of the nice things about Bonaire is you don't usually go below 70 feet and the boat is usually anchored in 20 feet of water so you can stay down a long time.

To answer a question in the comments yesterday about webcams, I've only seen one and that was on a dive yesterday. I only got within 20 feet of it. If I see another one, I'll wave.

Here is a picture of Garfield, the resort's cat.

No underwater photos because I do not have an underwater camera. I have enough trouble taking pictures above water.

If that isn't a Garfield cat, I don't know what is. That cat means business. Great pic.

The cat looks like he's thinkin' "WTF do YOU want my picture for ?!? Go 'way 'n' leave me alone..."

"I have enough trouble taking pictures above water."

UNWANTED PHOTOGRAPHY TIP #1: TAKE TOO MANY PICS. If you have a digital camera, you can afford to take too many pics. Always take two pictures when you want ONE. If you have time to take three or four, go for it. Don't worry, when you take too many pictures, people stop paying attention to you and they go back to being natural. You become background noise to them-they stop noticing you. You then check out those four pics you just took in a row and delete what you don't want.

UNWANTED PHOTOGRAPHY TIP #2: If someone tells you "this picture could have been framed better", just nod, smile and ignore the comment.

UNWANTED PHOTOGRAPHY TIP #3: Photography is about stopping time. I don't believe that there is a right or wrong way of stopping time. Have fun with it, Denny.

And I do with we had a pic of that turtle. Awsome. Wish I'd been there.

I thought that was one of those Carribean Catfish that you landed.

There are several webcams on bonaire including one right downtown.

I been to Alice in Wonderland. haven't tried windsock yet.
If you get a chance, try a boat dive off klein called 'sampler'

If you are looking for an 'interesting' place to eat, try to get to Rincon and the "Rose Inn" very local faire. Good goat stew..
but the fish and red beans and rice is awesome too.

Oh, I don't know if I mentioned it before. The 'old' Argentinean restrant (casablanca) was taken over and the son of the orginal owners opened a new one up on the water at the sail boat docks across from the traffic circle (near Lovers Ice cream)

Chuck - We ate at Casablanca Tuesday night. We usually hit that on the trip. The food is good and it is close to the Divi.
