Well, that ought to get the lead out!

Posted by: Jim Macklin on October 8, 2007 12:13 PM

That's just GRATE-d!

Posted by: jim on October 8, 2007 01:15 PM

I'd like to run Congress down that chute; maybe they would appreciate how I feel at tax time.

Posted by: BobG on October 8, 2007 02:00 PM

I heard somewhere that only 5% of Chinese food is actually inspected. I'll bet that's the food that goes to those in the Chinese government.

Posted by: Dave Hughes on October 8, 2007 02:03 PM

They forgot the pool of lemon juice at the end of the slide. Is that why they recalled it?

Like to see Hillary go down that face first.

"Like to see Hillary go down that face first.
Posted by vetfromhell at October 8, 2007 03:00 PM"

You mean for the 1001st time?

Looks more like what passes for Hir mind to me...

Posted by: Fox3 on October 8, 2007 03:06 PM

Question for the group? Why do we and other developed nations buy from and financially support a communist regime known for humanitarian atrocities. We didn't do it for Russia, or Cuba, why does China get a pass? And all you WalMart fanatics, now you all know why products from China are so cheap. NO CONTROLS. Has nothing to do with Americans not wanting to work for such a small amount (Well maybe a little), but since we've got OSHA, and Unions, and safety standards, and the like, how can American companies compete with lead using companies in other countries. Ridiculous, I say, ridiculous.

"Like to see Hillary go down that face first."

Oooh!!! And ruin the cleavage?

Posted by: Peggy U on October 8, 2007 05:33 PM

OH! THAT is farookin' funny! Just DAMN!

Posted by: Lee on October 8, 2007 10:26 PM

Ray, your comment "And all you WalMart fanatics, now you all know why products from China..." made me cheer.
I hate WalMart!!
Every time I hear an ignoramus say, "I love WalMart," I want to scream, because WalMart shoppers are supporting a country that is or will be our enemy. The southern states are so into WalMart. The toothless, fat, hillbilly, trailer trash shopping at WalMart ain't too far from the truth.

Posted by: vicki on October 8, 2007 11:17 PM

at least he won't get pithhed ..

Posted by: groan on October 9, 2007 04:08 AM

I'd like to send all the democratic candidates down that contraption into a pool of rubbing alchol.

Posted by: Hammer on October 9, 2007 12:20 PM

Vicki- We always knew you were a lib. Your hatred of Wal-Mart is more proof we were correct, since all libs hate Wal-Mart, Exxon-Mobil, etc.

Posted by: Rob Cooper on October 9, 2007 02:37 PM

And your denigrating prejudiced stereotyping of Southerners is further proof...As I recall, Denny lives in the south, as do A LOT of his readers.
Go post on Daily Kos or huffingtonpost, loser.

Posted by: Rob Cooper on October 9, 2007 02:41 PM

Hey, I RESEMBLE that remark ! (grin) I'm a big, fat lardass, too...It would be fun to jump on ol' Hitlery's back 'n' ride her acrost that big grater....Hehehehe...Ain't I a Stinker ?

Posted by: chg657 on October 9, 2007 04:58 PM

Rob - vicki is not a liberal and she lives in the South as well (north Georgia mountains). Her toothless trailer trash comment must have been referring to the denizens of Alabamastan.

Posted by: Denny on October 9, 2007 05:22 PM

Thank you, Denny. Since my shopping choices are Wal-Mart in Murphy, NC, or Wal-Mart in Ellijay, GA, I know what I speak. We have no other choices in some areas of the south...now doesn't that sound more like a liberal's idea more than a conservative's??? No choices?

Conservatives favoring Wal-Mart is as confusing to me as Jews being Democrats.
I am "Jooish" (as Erica would say).

Posted by: vicki on October 9, 2007 07:12 PM

Ohhhh, the all things made in China issue. Thank your hero Ronald Reagan for lifting the import tariff in 1980. This is once more the fault of failed radical conservative ideologies.

prove me wrong, moon bats

Posted by: droolingcumspot on October 10, 2007 10:31 AM

wallmart, cheap crap made in China, all results of conservative economic polices, by their biggest hero Ronald Reagan. No con will respond to this, they slither away in fear, when I point out the truth

Denny have the testicular fortitude to debate me on any single issue????

Posted by: droolingcumspot on October 10, 2007 10:34 AM

Slithering away in fear, do you have the testicular fortitude A.K.A the man hood to debate me on the issue??? Drooling cum spot? That is not winning the debate, you are acting like a child , You regress back to the junior High scool schoolyard, when confronted with something you can not refute. You are losing the battle of ideas and the battle of facts. I know in the conservative mind it is all about winning (even if cheating is required) , guess what you LOST. When you back out of a debate and resort to insults, you lost.

Wallmart, toy recalls, food recalls, all results of modern conservative policies. The day Reagan lifted those tariffs is the day everything became "made in China".

Dispute this. I dare you. Calling me "drooling cum spot" only reflects poorly on yourself. I come out on top, you end up looking like the hack. If you are so politically savvy and so omnipotent, prove me wrong. Your insults do not bother me, the ideology you subscribe to which is destroying our country bothers me.

"Thank your hero Ronald Reagan for lifting the import tariff in 1980."

Dude, Reagan didn't become President until 1981.

Posted by: Yosemite Sam on October 10, 2007 06:18 PM

droolingcumspot never lets facts get in the way of a good argument.

droolingcumspot - Being a liberal, your knowledge of basic economics is nil. You guys always seem to think you can bypass the law of supplay and demand. Import tariffs are counterproductive. Remember when Japan was gonna become the largest economy in the world? Didn't happen did it. One of the reasons was protectionism. The freer the trade, the richer the economy. Being a socialist, you can not comprehend that. There is a reason we are the richest nation in the world.

I suggest you go find a copy of Milton Friedman's Free to Choose. Oh wait! That would mean you would actually have to learn sumpin'.

"On October 23, 1979, President Carter submitted to Congress the bilateral Agreement on Trade Relations signed with the People's Republic of China (PRC) July 7, 1979. Of particular importance is the accompanying Executive Order waiving the application of Sections 402 (A) and (B) of the Trade Act of 1974. Sec#on 402, the Jackson-Vanik Amendment"

emphasis added

Hat tip to Jared/Drool and Yosemite Sam.

Jared, I did a little checking on your "truth". Even though Denny is right about the free market thing, that Jackson-Vanik thingy that Jimmah threw out the window?, that's essentially the stop gap that keeps the US from dealing with tyrants and the like.

But slippery slope and all that...now we are dealing with them and tariffs do nothing to control quality, just repress trade.

Vicki, my sympathies on your shopping plight.

Here outside of Charlotte, NC (they hate that) my Levi's end up coming from three different socialist African countries in the past three years.

my suggestion: stick with the internet.
