Yeah, I so hate this word and wish that it would be abolished like the N word. I have a 20 yr old brother who is MR and I have the privilage of working with TBI patient's that many would consider to be "retarded". It just makes me want to scream that they are all "still there" So they made a bad choice and drove drunk and now have to speak via a voicebox and in a wheelchair. Fark those people that consider them better then them.

Teresa-
Quit acting like such a retard...

Hey Teresa - I know one retard that is a nigger........sorry, it was a softball right over the plate.

patrick-
BWAAAAAAHAHAHAHA! You knocked that one out of the park.

Teresa and her political correctness. If it looks like, smells like acts like it, well you know what I mean. My sister is a "special education" (another dumb, politically correct term) for deaf children, some of who are retards and she hates it when I call them that. The truth hurts liberals, too bad.

Teresa,

I can understand your dislike of that word. But it is only a word. Abolishing a word, however, is pointless. It is the sentiment, not the syntax of what we say that is damaging. Any person who would use the word "retard" in regard to a person who really had physical or mental impairments is not worth getting your stomach acid bubbling over. Likewise, any person who thinks it amusing to call people derogatory names based upon their race alone is not worth it either. Most times they are simply cowards who like to use the anonymity of a keyboard and internet connection for defilade. I look at these "motivational" posters and laugh, because often times they can be quite funny.

Teresa,
I'm so glad that they killed and buried the N Word, if so why did you call me one the other day? I'm still glad that they had that whole ceremony, I'm sure that Rap Singers will be sure to clean up their act now?! I have a rude neighbor kid who has this awful blond dred-lock hairdo. The kid is 16 and skips through my yard, we call him the nappy headed homo. No shit.
We also have another wonderful neighbor who is mentally retarded. We call him Josh, cuz that's his name. He has a job, and does jobs for people around the neighborhood. He's the best. Everyone loves Josh, because he's a great help and a good freind. So what if he's a 7 yr old going on 30, we all love him for his big heart and his sense of humor. He was mentally retarded because of a difficult birth where his twin brother died. Does the label make me think less of him, or that I am better than he is? No.
Josh can't read or tell time, yet he still wears a watch, he keeps trying to learn it. Josh isn't stupid, you on the other hand have the ability to learn. Keep at it girl! You'll come over from the dark side one of these days...

Dkelsmith....

Nice to see you post again ..... are you back in the states?

Teresa, Isn't your husband, you know the guy who ran for President in '04, one? The majority of those who voted think so.

Posted by: R30C on October 30, 2007 07:36 PM

Hey! I thought "retard" was a euphemism for less sensitive terms like "moron", "stupid", and "shit-for-brains".
That's the trouble with euphemisms, they wear out so fast, and you have to change them more often than a stripper's underwear or a sports franchie's stadium.

Hey, Dkelsmith.

Lisakay, I have Never called anyone the N word and you must be on crack to say that I called you that. Charlie, you will forever be a "tard" to me. See, I do have a sense of humor if it is warranted. :)
