I came across this (scroll down) in Sunday's Atlanta Urinal and constipation.
A rapidly warming climate is turning once-frosty southern Greenland truly green, with supermarkets stocking locally grown cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage for the first time. Kenneth Hoeg, the region's chief agriculture adviser, says he does not see why southern Greenland cannot eventually be full of vegetable farms and viable forests.
See! Who says global warming is bad? They're loving it in Greenland.
So what is the optimum temperature for the planet anyway? Back in the Tenth Century, Greenland did support crops. Then the Little Ice Age hit and Greenland got too cold to support forage crops for livestock. Now it appears we are returning to the climate of the Tenth Century. Funny, the world survived just fine back then. Maybe global warming is a good thing.

The Viking Colonies failed because Leif Erickson failed to provision them with sufficent supplies.....He listened to the Colony Weather forecaster......"Moron Algoreson" who said global warming would bring a banner crop in the coming year & they would not need any extra supplies.
Yes, he is the Moron Algoreson who claimed he had been elected Vinlands Founder & Leif had stolen his position.

Posted by: LisaKay on November 1, 2007 07:11 AMYou are plain silly. Greener Greenland is indication for melting of the ice sheets, and that is not good news for anybody.
Posted by: mika on November 1, 2007 10:52 AMMika.......Silly?
Get real, these very same areas of Greenland were once free & clear of ice....guess what? it melted before & it did so without any help from us. It will continue to do so again & again whether we are here or not.
The fact of the matter is what is good or normal for the planet in many instances is not good for us. The only reason we are still here is our ability to evolve & adapt to changing climate or environments...think the last ice age OK? The death of the species man will be the arrogance we rely on when we think we control the climate or environment of the world & fail to recognize the need to adapt to an everchanging world, species far dumber but less arrogant will survive because they will adapt rather then to pontificate.
