So I was reading the Atlanta Urinal and Constipation this morning and I came across this tidbit.
New Orleans DA Jordan to resign amid troubles
New Orleans District Attorney Eddie Jordan said he will resign today amid troubles that include a $3.7 million discrimination judgment against his office and an increasing murder rate in the city. In the discrimination suit, white former employees said Jordan, who is black, fired them because of their race. Jordan has lost appeals, opening the door to possible seizure of district attorney's office assets to meet the debt. Mayor Ray Nagin said again the city would not pay.
So I have just one question. <DonSurber>Is this dude a Dimocrat or is he a Dimocrat?</DonSurber>
For a really good riff on this, go here. Thanks to Woody for the link.

Posted by: vetfromhell on October 31, 2007 08:30 PMI was jonesing for some liberal angst so went to daily Kos. some libtard there was lamenting about how Bobby Jidal was the worst thing to happen to Louisiana.......wtf? so I got my own username and started sprinkling around some wisdom. I am not appreciated there. my username is vincefostersghost ...havin fun.
Posted by: patrick on October 31, 2007 11:24 PMA friend of mine who lived in New Orleans but now in Baton Rouge said that what really happened was that when Eddie Jordan came into office, the first thing that he did was fired every single non-black staff member at the D.A. office, which included most of the senior staff and asst. D.A.s. for what was clearly due to 1 single reason..........skin color. This of course got rid of every person who knew what to do and what's going on in the D.A. office and the whole office grind to a turtle pace. A law clerk who had worked ther for 29+ years was fired 20 days before she was due to retired. She was so stressed out that she and numerous others started a discrimination class action law suit. After all appeals by teh D.A. office were unsuccessful and expired the plaintiffs were awarded the $3.7 million judgement. The D.A. office simply did not have the fund to pay for it and is now subject to court seizure of all tangible assets and will be put thru an auction to raise as much money as possible. Keep your eyes peeled. Ray Nagin will probably ended up having to dig up some money from his rear end and pay off this jusdgement, not to mention the cost of a special election for the already suffering N.O. citizens. All of this plus the judgement will, of course come from the pocket books of anybody who is still stuck in living inside N.O.'s city limit. What do you expect from an area that gave themselves folks like William Jefferson (the $90k in his freezer)again, Ray Nagin again (the milk chocolate mayor who got re-elected after the Katrina debacle) and the ex-governor Blanca (who was at least smart enough not to run for re-election)!!!
