Here's an interesting graphic that I got from here.

It's still not as hot as it was in 1300 AD or 1100 BC. Which begs the question: What is the ideal temperature anyway?

BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Good one! I hope yours are at least the orange ones... ;)
The ideal temperature is where it is. No matter what we do, Mother Nature will take care of the rest. Natural Selection will weed out the weakest link. Why are all these tree-huggers trying to change the course?
Speaking of tree-huggers, this dumbass takes the cake...
"I really felt a calling to be back in the place where I was born," he said, stressing that he was stirred by the threat to the trees, which would be cut down for the athletic center."
"stirred by the threat to the trees..."
BWAAHAHAHAHA!! WAAANNHHH! Take another hit, hippy!
"Initially, the trees called to me..."
Here's a little tune for you, little hippy-boy, while you save all the trees.
Note to Alex and the band, sorry to include you in this little tree-hugger's plight...
Posted by: CharlieDelta on November 14, 2007 02:41 AMHHHMMMM! It seems that chart contains facts, science and proof of temperature fluctuations. The morons that worship at the church of Gore and others will have no concept of what to do with this type of "tool". Since it doesn't illicit emotions of fear and guilt, they will place no value in it's factual content. So the people that could really benefit from it, won't.
After a careful study of this chart I have concluded that the Hebrews, Romans and Vikings were no doubt all owners of SUV's. And the Jamestown settlers having resorted to wind powered ships froze thier asses off .
Posted by: Darrell G on November 14, 2007 06:28 AMNote: Denny to find the perfect temperature I propose you do a study - Get a group of busty babe's put them in room and slowly raise the thermosat. The point at which they remove all of thier clothing would give you the corect answer .
Just be ready with plenty of cold beverage's to help cool them down . Who says science has to be boring
Denny......
There you go again.......using facts & logic to explain natural climate change instead of fantasy, you will never become a environmental moonbat this way. Algore will be so disappointed & the planet weeps.
Posted by: dudley1 on November 14, 2007 07:38 AMI'll not preach to the choir as I initially thought about doing.
"Just smile and wave boys... Just smile and wave"
Darrell deserves a Nobel Prize in science. Not sure which science so just give him all of them.

Posted by: StanW on November 14, 2007 12:10 PMcd.....lol.....next up is the Y10k problem........you know.....we only have 4 spots for the year on our computer....2007.....what happens when we get to 10000....?? catastrophe. I blame algore for inventing the internet.
Posted by: patrick on November 14, 2007 02:15 PMGeorge Bush is not on that chart for the cause of rising temperatures.
Posted by: Woody on November 14, 2007 03:31 PMTo the environmentalist, the ideal temperature is that which kills the human race but leaves all plants and animals unharmed.
To the environmental charlatan, the ideal temperature is the one that keeps rising ever so slightly so that they can keep selling books without anything actually being threatened.
To the rest of the population, the ideal temperature is about one degree cooler than today so that all of the above will shut up and go away.

Posted by: deadcenter on November 14, 2007 08:53 PMDid anyone notice that the peak temperatures correspond with peak periods in civilization? The Egyptian and Roman Empires, the viking travels, the Pax Americana?
Posted by: Rey on November 14, 2007 10:33 PMRey - Are you implying cause or effect? I assume you mean effect. Perhaps warming temperatures caused crop surpluses which allowed civilizations to flourish. That would make sense. However, the "Greecian Empire" period doesn't fit this mold. Gore and followers could certainly be looking at it bass ackwards. That also makes sense, given their anti-US agenda.

Yeah, but shouldn't the cold ones be pointing up?

Depends on what or who caused them to stand up in the first place!
