Thanks to MoK.
I have so much to be thankful for this year that it would take too long to write it all. I am thankful for all of you who come here everyday and read my stuff. I'm thankful for all the people who send me items to post. I'm thankful to most of my commenters. Trolls? No. People who want to have an honest debate? Yes.
I am thankful that I live in the greatest nation in the history of this planet.

Thanks to Kerrcarto for this.
Thanks to all of the troops who have defended and protected this country over the years and a great big thanks to those who are serving now.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Posted by: marcel on November 22, 2007 12:19 AMI wanted to prattle-on about some things in order to get to this central-point, but ...;
So:
Happy Thanksgiving Day to You and Yours!
Posted by: DanS. on November 22, 2007 12:25 AMSwirling winds bring the change
The colors abound
Biting winds hasten the coming
The chill, the falling
Of the old
Ahead, bleakness, grey cold
Like granite
Washed by frozen rain
To be endured
To be held dear
Like granite
Shimmering with ice
Beauty in it all
A Beauty that you all, and those you touch, and those that touch you, can see, can hold, and can share. With you all, everyone on the ever extending list, the new-fangled connection, have, in ways large or small, made me a better person. Once again, I thank you for that, for it is not just family and friends we should be thankful for, but all those we contact, all those that make up this Great Place we call Earth. On the periphery (and maybe not on the list) is one, or two, that made me smile, or perhaps, that I made smile, and in that smile, in that moment, even if we never cross paths again, we have that smile, that connection that flows inside, around, through and above us all.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Bob, one categorizes himself/herself with every post one makes here. It's not the other way around. Maybe your first impression categorized yourself?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Thanks for the wonderful rants, Denny. I don't think I've read a single one that I haven't shouted an "Amen!" to.
Keep on inspiring us and making us laugh, too. :-)

Well I have come here for intelligent and honest debate, although it does seem like I've been placed into the other category. Whatever, let's not let that spoil this rare coming-together on here.

Posted by: starboard on November 23, 2007 11:09 PMWell, here I am eating Crow, thinking that the ATL Falcons would have approached IND as "THE" game to win; alas, no such luck. As an announcer said it, they sort of just faded away after halftime. (sigh)
Could I ask you to Google "Pullman" as in what happens when one buys into Socialist Utopia?
I think you'll understand more about where I come from & also 'see' what happens when a single Capitalist is in charge.
I'm a LOSER on this one. :(
Crow don't taste NOTHING like turkey nor even chicken.
Posted by: DanS. on November 24, 2007 10:03 PMHad a great holiday here in Fayetteville, watching the Hogs get #1 LSU doggy-style. Now I hope Missouri wins the National Championship. I'm sick of seeing USC or Ohio State take it every year.
Gotta love football. It's so...American!
Posted by: Marksman2000 on November 25, 2007 02:08 AMKerrcarto-
I just got the 'HydroCarbon' stickers in the mail today! BWAAHAAHAAHAA! Stocking stuffers are going to be great!
You know what happened today?
Sgt of Marines, Tracy Dean Hawes called me today as a result of somehow discovering GOC. Called me early out of Sky Blue.
Sgt. Hawes was EVERYWHERE I WAS, Stateside 5th Marine Division FROM Radio TO the Numster where he supplied BATTERY'S for our PRC-25'S, of the 1st Bn 1St Marines 1st MarDiv; and he is this Marine's Marine! Did I mention he came aboard Quantico 14 days after me?
Y'all do indeed know some things about somethingand some stuff. But not 1 of 10 of you can claim the title of a USMC NCO; I can, as Sgt Hawes reminded me today.
You may all kindly go fuck yourselve's. You have here, before you, a Marine! You have nothing to Fear and EVERYthing to gain. Sgt. Hawes called today to remark about when Cpl. Dan became Sgt. Dan USMC. That was about 37 years ago.
Sgt. Hawes called me today as a result of reading GOC. You cannot quantify the tears shed today.
Posted by: DanS. on November 25, 2007 08:42 PMCD great to hear. It drives the wackos nuts!
Posted by: kerrcarto on November 25, 2007 09:17 PMDanS - That just shows that sumpin' good came from this site.
