Right on Big Den! Fuck that bitch. I lived in a section 8 apt for a short time in my life, while I got back on my feet. It wasn't fancy, but I took pride in having my own place. I didn't put up with the welfare Moms around me who refused to take care of their kids and let their flavor of the month man beat them either. I warned them and if they didn't comply, I had them sent packing. I was a hard ass but I started a garden club and helped to organize the place with social events and such...so that the folks there would have a sense of community. There were lots of older folks and ppl on social security due to disabilities w/o fams who just needed more than anything to get out of their heads and into some fresh air and hang out with some kids. It was a good time in my life, I made it a good place to raise my son. Noone else was gonna. We didn't have a big screen tv, or hardwood floors. We had tree growing up out of the kitchen sink and a dart board in the hallway and a fire alarm that went off every all the time due to bad wiring. I asked for a police scanner for Christmas so that I would know when to escape. I never once felt like bitching about being a Slave to the Man. I didn't like the smellavator, but it did work sometimes. With this comment I'm not touting myself as some big hero, just comparing my attitude with this womans. I took the help as a hand up, not as a hand out. I worked my ass off and I was glad to get the hell out of there-off the dole and every time that I've moved, I added another window on another side of my dwelling, hurray for Capitalism! Hurray for not being a dopey victim. So yeah, fuck that bitch!

This is the logical result of welfare. And these people are the natural constituency of the democrats. They will ALWAYS vote to take more from the producers to give to themselves ALWAYS and as they approach the majority(see illegals) there truly is going to be an Atlas Shrugged moment.

I work in people's homes. Regardless of income, people always have a nice big TV....no health insurance, but a nice friggin' TV.

How about an award to recgonize LisaKay as having made the wiser choice's in her life, rather than the path chosen by the BITCH in Nawlins.

Vicki: We have the worst TV ever. It is 17 years old. The channel changing button broke, and my husband permanently wired it to the VCR so we could use it to change channels! We would be considered upper middle class by salary standards. The money first goes to retirement savings, paying off the mortgage, paying for kids' college, health expenses, and car and home maintenance. Priorities are a bitch, aren't they? We are planning on replacing the TV in a couple of years. Our children are actually embarrassed about the TV. I think that when we retire it, we should donate it to the poor slave woman.

Lisa Kay: You need to meet my friend Karen. Very similar histories and outcomes. Congratulations on getting out of public housing and off welfare. Karen says it is difficult to escape once you are in the system! She has done it too. It's all about attitude. As you said, "a hand up, not a handout"!

Maybe we should reform the welfare laws a little more, and make one of the requirements of receiving a check that you give up your voting rights, and that your rights not be restored until one full year after you go off the rolls.
Politicians would be less apt to pander to them and more apt (hopefully)to make reasonable changes if we did that.
The welfare recipients would have an incentive to get off welfare, if for no other reason so their voices could be heard.
I would also like to see payments reduced incrementally every month. $500 first month, $495 the second etc.

But vicki, the gummint is supposed to pay for our health insurance. That's what the Dims keep telling us.

I remember when Jack Kemp started that program that had the people who were actually in the projects run the projects. There was a complex in Jersey City where the people took over and did a great job. They ran the drug dealers out, cleaned the place up, built playgrounds, the whole 9 yards. They had a professional advisor to help them and they really did a good job. Then Bubba got in, named one of Hillary's buddies to be in charge of HUD and they stopped the whole program. The project is right back to being the pit it was before. Thank you, Hillary and Roberta Alexander, for all you did for the poor drug dealers.

Darrell,Patrick and Peggy U-thanks for the nice words. I was just raised up right to be self sufficient and to do my best. Now, I see that in todays world, parents no longer parent their children- they tend to be lazy and the kid's fwend. This story pissed me off to no end.
I don't think that I could run for office of any sort, as I don't play well with others...I'm an Election Judge. I did consider becoming a delegate, but that whole bit with the funny hats...not to mention the confetti. Frightening.

When I was young ...I was adopted by a Korean Family & recieved care packages from Europe. OK so that`s not true .....neither is the wail from you welfare leeches who refuse to even attempt to help yourselves. Try doing something for yourself for a change ...you might even develop some pride & desire to improve your life.
