It was a relatively calm New Year's Eve in France.
VANDALS torched 372 cars as France celebrated the New Year, down on the figure last year after a night the police described as "relatively calm".
Holy crap! I'd hate to see what a bad night was.
Cars are burned fairly regularly in France and the image of vehicles in flames in poor suburbs became symbolic of riots in 2005 when angry youths set fire to thousands of cars.
"Hey Mahmoud, what are you doing tonight?"
"I don't know, Osama, why don't we go torch some cars?"
There is usually an increase in the number of cars torched on New Year's Eve compared to other days of the year.
'Cause nothing says "ring in the new year" like burning cars.
“The night was relatively calm, without notable incident, there were very few direct clashes with the security forces,” said a spokesman for the national police.
Because the security forces are a bunch of pussies and prefer watching the fires rather than risk their lives against a bunch of Moo-slime vandals.
The Interior Ministry said 372 vehicles had been burned - 144 in the Paris region and 228 in the rest of France. That was down from 397 last New Year's Eve.
A downward trend. Maybe they're running out of cars.
Posted by denny at January 2, 2008 03:03 PM Category: French BashingI'd hate to pay the auto insurance over there. When I was stationed there in the 60s I payed more for insurance than my car. I bet the muslims weren't burning there own either. Maybe they should hire Rodney King as an Adviser.
Posted by: gene on January 2, 2008 05:48 PMMaybe they are running out of people smart enough to start a fire!

Posted by: Ralph Gizzip on January 2, 2008 06:39 PMMaybe they could require everyone that purchases a car to purchase a firearm. Never mind, this is France. Be sure to park the cars close together so that the criminals can get some twofers.
Posted by: Mark on January 2, 2008 07:55 PMPeople who live in liberal Lala lands, take note. Coming soon to your street, Jihad. They have nothing to fear since you have been disarmed by the gov'mint, who will not protect you. For those of you who can, get a martyr maker and plenty of ammo. Get familiar with your gas pipe and make sure you can put lead on loser.
On a side note, I just acquired another AR in 7.62X39.
Important thing to know: statistics in the Vichyist Entity are ALWAYS cheated. This time the police counted owners reporting the torching of their cars... before 6am, on the 1st of January! Those who were still asleep and couldn't call the cops before 6am were not counted.
Same goes with unemployment figures: officially it's around 8%, actually it's more like 18%.
Public deficit: official: 65% GDP, actual: 230% GDP.
And so on and so on.
And for the French dorks who troll on this blog: I'm still, alas!, French (on my way to become Amercican), I was borned and raised here, I live there, and I know what I'm talking about.
Happy new year everybody!
Et je souhaite une putain d'année encore plus misérable et pathétique que les précédentes aux franchouilles.
Be interesting to see what would happen if a bunch of Christian youths went to a Muslime country & started trashing the joint..I wonder how long they'd live ?

Well first of all, the media wouldn't call them "youths" or "students"- they'd be tagged as "crusaders" and "Christian extremists." Then they would busy themselves explaining away violence committed by Muslims by saying, "See? The Christians are even worse."
Posted by: Buckley F. Williams on January 3, 2008 09:22 AMI don't think the media would be so kind as to use the term extremists. They would call them Christian terrorists, and a threat to world peace. They would do it the same way they do their stories abou Israel. "Israeli retalliation that killed three Palistinians and detonated the Martyr vests they were wearing, threatens peace in the Gaza Region" How many times have the perverts at AP done stuff like that? (BTW what does the "A" stand for?)
Posted by: Jeremy on January 3, 2008 09:54 AMThe worst that can happen is be less than USD 35.00 damage...
Posted by: Billy on January 3, 2008 09:55 AMJeremy - The A stands for Associated.
Here is a thought that keeps rattling around. My understanding is that there are a bunch of Muslims in france because they were imported as cheap labor. Because of France's culture, they cannot, or will not assimilate.
Here we imported Mexicans for our cheap labor. Some are real crime problems, many feel an unwarranted sense of entitlemen, and most are here illegaly. That said, I cannot imagine them pulling this shit.
I've been openly critical of our immigration issues. That said, it makes me realize we have big scoreboard on France in this regard.
Posted by: patrick on January 3, 2008 10:27 AMActually probably the best thing to happen ,if they're burning Peugot's and Fiat's.
Posted by: big al on January 3, 2008 12:30 PMWhy don't the Frenchies FIGHT BACK ? Go out & send a few of them phuckers on their merry way to their 72 virgins ? Hope all is well with you and your family! Prayers are flying towards you from San Diego...
Perhaps Prosper is too embarassed to log on?
Posted by: ty guy on January 4, 2008 03:02 PMty guy-
Prosper and I have had many differences through the years, but he's definately a guy I could sit down with and have a civil conversation over a beer or three. I wouldn't say he's embarassed, but more like puttin' his foot in his mouth. I like his input even though most of the time I disagree with him...on most levels.
Either way, that wasn't a shot at Prosper, it was a sincere hope that he and his family are okay.

I agree with your comments regarding Prosper....He can be frustrating at times but I think he would be good drinking company & yes I like the guy too. Best wishes to you & your family Prosper.
