More On The Global Warming Front

Has Pope Albert I of the Church of AGW been spending time in Washington State? You might think so.

YAKIMA A series of winter storms has pushed snow removal costs at mountain passes in Washington state well beyond budgeted levels, state transportation officials say.

WTF? I thought glaciers were melting and all that stuff. Where's all this snow coming from?

Just on the 40-mile stretch of Interstate 90 that includes Snoqualmie Pass, the most heavily traveled pass in the state, road-clearing and avalanche control costs are several hundred thousand dollars over the allotted $3 million, barely three weeks into the winter, sad Don Lee Whitehouse, a Transportation Department Regional administrator.

With final cost figures for snow and ice removal in the passes during December still being tallied, "we're close to $1 million overspent statewide," Whitehouse said. "It's been a hard winter."

It sure is good that we're experiencing global warming. Just think how bad this stuff would be if we weren't. I shudder to think of it.

He said he would have to take money from other programs, such as pavement patching, or ask the Legislature for additional funds to cover the gap.

Or raise taxes. Washington is run by Dimocrats, right?

The culprit is a La Nina weather pattern that has brought bursts of unusually heavy snowfall over the Cascades. The 172 inches recorded last month at Snoqualmie Pass was the fourth highest in nearly six decades, and 114 inches of the total fell in the last two weeks of December.

All of this, I'm sure, can be blamed on global warming. Or Bush. Or Cheney. Or Halliburton.

Now, we're getting snowed-in in Atlanta. I think I sold too many carbon offsets.

My Grandbrat came home from the Tacoma Indoctrination Center yesterday with the answers to all of that Mr Wilson. Because of global warming, the water is evaporating faster in the ocean. That causes all of the extra moisture to form the clouds that are causing the massive snowfall.
Of coarse she asked her if that would lead to more glaciers on the mountains. Teacher said she would get back to her on that later.

I was at a condo in Hollywood Fl, today waiting to speak with the manager when 2 old ladies came out and waited for their car.

One old lady was holding 2 ice/snow removal scraper/brushes in her hand. I laughed and said, let me guess you sure didn't buy those in Walgreen's so you must be from from Canada (lot of kanooks here in So. Fl)

She said that she had them in her car and for the last twenty years they have come down here, this year was the worst for ice and snow.

She said that this year in Toronto was the worst and deepest snow they have had in over 60 years. She laughed and said the last year that was this bad was when she was a girl.

As they left to get in their car I said, must be due to Global warming.

They both laughed.

Not so funny. WA state is looking at imposing carbon dioxide emissions testing regulations on industries in our state. For example, Cherry Point refinery near where we live would be required to measure their carbon dioxide output. As if things aren't expensive and difficult enough already ...

I think everyone in Washington state needs to store those flourecent bulbs and break out the incandecant. we need to reverse this bleak winter!!!! before its to late!!! ;-)

Hey ....Bush kept the Haliburton Hurricane Generator under raps for the entire season, he had to put all that moisture somewhere. All he had to do was add the experimental Karl Rove Snow accumulator attachment to make it happen. Now you know where Karl Rove went.

"WTF? I thought glaciers were melting and all that stuff. Where's all this snow coming from?"

It's weather redistibution guys. Kind of like wealth redistribution that the libs are so fond of, but this involves weather, water, ice etc. Soon the poles will be where we go for vacation and the Caribbean will be for skiing and sledding. All due to global warming, I mean climate change. BTW, did you folks know, now sit down for this, that there has been climate change EVERY day the earth has been in existence (8 billion years, give or take a few)? Scarey huh?

Hey, gotta love it! I went skiing on that Snoqualmie global warming just last Saturday ;-)
