Saturday Blonde Joke

This was sent by many people and has to do with all the global warming going on this winter.

One winter morning in Pennsylvania a couple was listening to the radio while eating breakfast. They heard the announcer say, "We are going to have 8 to 10 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the even-numbered side of the street, so the snow plows can get through"

Norman's wife went out and moved her car.

A week later while they were again eating breakfast, the radio announcer said, "We are expecting 10 to 12 inches of snow today. You must park your car on the odd-numbered side of the street, so the snow plows can get through."

Norman's wife went out and moved her car again.

The next week they were again having breakfast, when the radio announcer said, "We are expecting 12 to 14 inches of snow today. You must park....." Then the electric power went off.

Norman's wife was very upset, and with a worried look on her face she said, "Honey, I don't know what to do. Which side of the street do I need to park on so the snow plows can get through?"

With the love and understanding in his voice that all men who are married to blondes exhibit, Norman said, "Why don't you just leave it in the garage this time."

Both must be blond, otherwise ther husband would have explained it long before.

James - you must be blond.....one doesn't explain something like that to a blond. Oh wait, if you're blond I shouldn't be explaining this........oh, never mind!

You don`t know how true this is.......

I used to run my business out of my three car garage, my wife bitched incessantly about the imposition it was to her that she could not park in the garage.

Well, my business expanded & I had a new building constructed for it. I renovated the garage so she could park in it. that was four years ago , since then she has parked in the garage seven times, none this winter.

She is not blond...Polish.

dudley1 - I'm surprised you have commented on my "Good For Him" post. Your girlfriend Socialist Sally has returned as well as our middle school student, haha.

Denny - Talking about "Good For Him" post, I didn't know what was happening last night. I stayed up until one o'clock reading the 100 comments!!! I wonder what Sally would say if she would listen to my younger single friends in Ontario, complaining about LEGAL immigrants. They arrive here, or the mother, or the father. Three months later, they get the Health Card (OHIP). It's free of course. You don't even have to work to get it. Suddenly they have serious heart problems, which they didn't have when they were accepted in the country. Now they need a quadruple bypass! This happens often with cases of expensive surgeries.

My single friends say that they pay horrendous taxes for the care of people who haven't done anything for Ontario. I wonder if your ski instructor from B.C. ever mentioned something similar. They have a lot of immigrants from Hong Kong.

We're not against immigration. We need it. But we're angry at our good health system being abused by parasites.

Spring-boarding off of CIO (Claudia In Ontario),

If I may, whatever happened to those thought-provoking threads that stimulated intelligent ... -and THOUGHTFUL- ... conversation?

Seems like I have to wait a week or more for the 'emotional' to vent their spleen on the most picayune of issues, where I have to read/hear/respond to something other than CD is/is not a "cunt" (with apology to my good-friend Charlie Delta!) before we get down to brass-tack Issues's like Pro-Choice, Immigration, Flat-Tax Vs. Fair-Tax, Gun Control, And Hill/Obama versus McCain.

Yes, as TyGuy has indicated, I have entirely too many words at my disposal. I think that's because I'm offered no forum that would require "less-as-more".

I used to think that Y'all had something to SAY worth listening to! I'm beginning to think you want merely to engage in one-upmanship.

Bah! You already know I'm batshit-insane (a totally-wrong assumption!); but you also know where I stand on the various-issues. Meanwhile, you descend into debating the various-forms of "He Said!/She Said! ... as if that matters more than a loon-licked logic-link to the Old Testament!

I CHALLENGE YOU ... one and ALL...; LAY out a 1-to-ten LIST of the Top Ten Issues! Let us debate them on a relative basis; Let us GROW as a result of strife and disagreement! But FIRST: lay out the Top 10 Issues and state your position on same!

A Commenter earlier stated something to the effect that this "she wears short-shorts!" commentary is UNWORTHY of the Reader of THIS Blog & I agree with that WholeHeartedly!

You've been advised; you've been offered an alternative; you've been challenged.

denny- what happened to AOTW?

Claudia: IMO, that's the problem with socialist systems. They only work well on a very small scale where everyone contributes and follows rules, or at the very least where the pool of people involved is small enough that the contributors personally know the recipients. On an individual level, most people will help people who are in need - if they feel those people are in need because of circumstances beyond their control. It also helps if the donor feels his contribution will generate a feeling of gratitude, and it helps even more if the recipient (when he can) works to become self sufficient and emulates generosity toward others when he is able to.*

The problem is when the government does this kind of redistribution of wealth it does so by force (taxation), creating resentment on the part of givers and a sense of entitlement on the part of recipients. It also encourages long term dependence and welfare fraud on the part of recipients.

For example, say you have a family member who needs money for groceries. You help him out. You later find out that this person has a gambling problem, or drinks to excess, or uses drugs. You are unlikely to continue to subsidize his lifestyle. Not so with the government, which has no personal interest in holding the person accountable, and in fact has an interest in NOT doing so because that dependent has the power of the vote and is going to want to continue to receive benefits.

*(By the way, the Mormon church runs their charities this way. They help people, but require those who have been helped to give back in whatever way they can. I am not keen on the religion itself, but I am impressed with their self sufficiency, their organizational skills, and their ability to motivate their members. I think Romney would have brought this positive trait to the presidency.)

Dan - You coulda jumped in the Good For Him post. We have Socialist Sally, Teresa (TDO), and haha all in the same thread.

Posted by: Denny on February 17, 2008 09:50 PM

Denny: I think that's what you call a menage a trolls.

Posted by: Peggy U on February 17, 2008 10:57 PM

Denny : I had a very sensible question to ask about your "Good For Him" post. By the time the comments reached 50, and those 3 people were on the scene, I knew I would be out of place. I just wanted ONE quiet answer from you, not comments from 10-12 people, ad infinitum.

I asked the question to Tall Cotton who had the same video. He wrote a post on my comment It made sense. I'm sure you would have too.

Peggy U : Everything you wrote about the flaws of a socialist system makes sense. What's the answer? As I live in a land of plenty, I don't mind sharing in legitimate cases. When my younger friends complain about the abuses, I usually say that we cannot stop helping 3 people because the 4th one is a fraud. Don't you agree? We liked Mr.Romney too.Too bad he dropped out of the race.

Claudia: I started to reply to your last post, then realized what a ginormously piggish amount of space that reply was taking! So I will email it to you instead. :)
