It's our fault. We've had it coming.

Rats and mice used to be our friends. They
cleaned our garbage up from the streets of Europe.

Then we turned on them. Blamed things like the
"Black Plague" on them. It was the fleas people!

We brought in mercenary cats from Egypt to hunt, catch, kill and mutilate them. We wouldn't begrudge them a morsel of grain or shelter from the weather in the walls and attics of our homes.

Now we trap, poison, and gas them. A few we capture and use in diabolical experiments in the name of science.

Oh the humanities, a just desert will be served on we infidels and our assassin cats.

On the other hand, this could be another Bush/Cheney conspiracy to start a new war.
I'll go look for the Halliburton connection.
