This reminds me of a time a friend of mine and I went to see Johnny Winter at SIU Edwardsville back in the 70's. We were on the lawn and were smoking dope and we ran out of beer. The folks behind us had a keg and my buddy took two empty beer cans that we had cut the tops off of and filled them up. He did this three times before they noticed him. Pure inspiration!
Posted by denny at March 12, 2008 10:14 PMThat's hilarious! He looks like the type of guy to prefer a girl's "foo-foo" drink...
Posted by: CharlieDelta on March 12, 2008 11:14 PMDenny - You had those bright ideas in the 70's? Didn't change much! I forgot what you told me I could call you...
C.D. - Foofoo drink? DON'T explain. I prefer not to know! ;-)

I was a 60"s "Flower Child Capitalist".
We would go to a Drive-in Movie. I'd buy (back door, I was only 16.) a gallon of "Bali Hai" (sugery wine) for $2.25 and and a box of little Dixie Cups. About the size of a water-cooler paper cup.
Half way through the second feature folks were running out of beer. Word would get around about my 25 cent cups of wine. I'd go home with about $20 to $25 is cash. (This is 1968.)
No I wasn't inspired. If I had been, I'd have opened a neighborhood tap in Sioux City instead of
going into engineering. I'd be retired by now.
Pete
Claudia-
Don't visualize the visual. "foo-foo" drinks are girly drinks that some 'light-in-the-loafers' dudes tend to prefer. Not that there's anything wrong with that... :-)
Hey CD -Birfday Boy- Have a Frou Frou drink on me k?!
Posted by: LisaKay on March 13, 2008 10:14 AMWhy did I think of CD when I saw the picture?
Birthday? Well, bless your heart. Have a happy.
I always thought it was frou frou drink ... like a Mai Tai or a Pina Colada or something. Better if it has a pink umbrella and a cherry in it.
Posted by: Peggy U on March 13, 2008 12:32 PMPete, if you had opened a neighborhood tap in Sioux City, you'd have to deal with the fact that your communist government there in Iowa is currently doing everything they can to drive the tavern owners out of business. They've already banned smoking here in Illinois, and I can tell you that the tavern owners are going broke.
I'm not a smoker, but I just don't like the government trying to control everything. Remember "My country tis of thee, sweet land of Liberty"? Well, we'll have to change the lyrics, because liberty is quickly becoming a thing of the past.
