Michael Moore told us that Cuba had better health care than the United States, so what is wrong with these guys?
Two more Cuban soccer players defected from the Under-23 national team in Tampa on Wednesday evening, bringing to seven the number who deserted the squad since their surprising 1-1 tie against the United States in an Olympic qualifying match Tuesday.
Dudes! Our health care system sucks! Why would you want to come here? Why wouldn't you want to go somewhere with socialized medicine like Canada or France? Or stay in Cuba with its world class free health care.
This is what always gets me about all the defenders of communism and socialism in this county. People risk their lives to leave Cuba. They risked their lives trying to get across the Berlin wall. And still these booger eatin' moh-rons think communism is some sort of utopia. Yet, for some reason, they choose to live here rather than emigrating to one of these communist utopias.
Thanks to Dick for the link.

Posted by: Joan of Argghh! on March 13, 2008 09:21 PMPlease shout that ("...these booger eatin' moh-rons think communism is some sort of utopia. Yet, for some reason, they choose to live here rather than emigrating to one of these communist utopias.") from the Times Square Jumbotron.
Or, I could do it, but just replace "booger eatin' moh-rons" with "dooooooshbags," so it wouldn't sound like I copied.
Either way, why is it so hard as fucking hell to get that little piece of common sense into peoples' heads?

Posted by: Erica on March 13, 2008 09:23 PMMabye if we elect Mrs. William Jefferson Clinton or B. Hussein Obama president, all of the illegal Mexicans would go home. Do you think they would put up with Universal Health Care when they can get free health care now? It is more drastic than I am willing to try, but it just might work.
Posted by: Mark on March 13, 2008 09:56 PMWe need to ask Ellian Gonsolas about this...
Maybe he would know.
Living in So. Fl I frequent a blog called babalu.com
When the news first came out about this team coming to Tampa, people on the blog were taking bets as to how many would defect.
