Yeah, this has been in the news for a while and he is black and he is mayor of a predominately Dimocrat city so it's prolly a given that he's a Dimocrat and
Kilpatrick has said he would not resign and last week said he expects to be vindicated when all aspects of the scandal are made public.

Posted by: Erica on March 24, 2008 02:17 PMI just about fell down last week when I read in our newspaper (Winston Salem (NC) Journal) an article about a state politician who was actually ousted by the state house since he's about to have his sorry ass handed to him in court over various charges. Right there in the article's headline - it was actually printed! "Democrat"! It was locally written, not an AP or other wire story, so that's why it was allowed I guess - but still surprising as our paper is editorially liberal as most are.
Further surprising me was an editorial this week in support of the ouster, excoriating 2 of our local representatives (Dem, black, and themselves a subject of ethical questions in the past ) for voting against the measure and speaking out about it being because he's black. Please. He's a crook, and not a very adept one. And he steadfastly refused to resign once it was obvious he was tainted goods. So typical.
