No. Not that one. Pope Albert I of the Church of AGW.

But he really cares about the environment and reducing his carbon footprint. I guess he'll just have to buy some carbon credits from himself.

It's a two (2) hour talk and I'm gonna
pick-up six or seven "Big Macs" afterwards.
So keep the engines warm.
Got places to go and people to see.
Al (Got screwed) Gore.

Posted by: Pete on April 14, 2008 12:43 AMHe does buy Carbon Credits... From his OWN company.
Every time I hear the words "Carbon Footprint" It makes me want to put a footprint on Al Gore's Face.
channel surfing last night and stumbled on a global warming show on NGEO. total CYA bullshit. The seas MAY rise, then this MIGHT happen. I could only last 5 minutes. This cartoon is great. Oh, and if it is hotter today it may be because I filled 6 30 gallon lawn bags with trimming, weeding, and pruning this weekend. This carbon footprint just got 180 gallons bigger........whatever that shit means.
Posted by: patrick on April 14, 2008 09:53 AMThey're actually predicting that it might reach 70° here on Wednesday. We've currently gone 167 consecutive days below that mark. Where's the global warming? But AGW alarmist will shout "We're in a La Nina, so this past winter shouldn't count." They'll gladly shout about how hot it was in 1998 without mentioning that it was an El Nino year. You can't have it both ways. Cherry Pickers!!!
Posted by: Steve on April 14, 2008 12:19 PMIt is snowing here. Take a look at a real pretty place in North Georgia Mountains.

Should have stuck around for a while......
They stated the current rise in sea level is the greatest rate of increase ever & of course it is Mans fault. For qualification it was said at the current dramatic rate, sea levels will rise one foot by the end of the Century or in about 100 years. It we accept this as gospel, then in 1000 years the rise would be 10 feet & if we go 15,000 years the rise would be about 150 feet. Awesome???..... Well, the problem is actual sea level rise since the end of the last ice age has been 300 to 400 feet & that was only 10,000 years or so ago, at least 3 times the so-called greatest increase ever.
So it is quite obvious their statement of this being the greatest rate of increase is way off base...."A Big Lie". I wonder what man did to cause the global warming/climate change which ended the last ice age & caused the 300/400 foot rise in sea level they somehow forgot about.
The real problem is the mindset of people who watched this program & do not have a clue they were being fed a line of Bullshit even though it is obvious just from the presentation they lied. Of course that is assuming these people would have some understanding for reality & truth & even suspect they were being lied to.
It is too bad P T Barnum is not with us anymore.....He said a sucker is born every minute, he would quickly become a billionaire given the dismal level of sense people have today.
Posted by: dudley1 on April 14, 2008 01:29 PMDudley, I agree completely. Has our society become a bunch of gullible idiots? And what has happened to National Geographic? Don't they feel the slightest responsibility to report the truth? I know a lot of people who have totally bought into this scam. When you ask these people about the specifics of Global Warming, they're quite clueless. They only believe because they've heard about it from the MSM. We've become a race of sheep! It's really sad. It's become a daily task to deprogram my children, because you know what they're being taught in school.
Dudley - Kind of wish I'd stuck around, but when that half wit put popsicles on the cars and equated them to global warming I just could no longer do it.
You made me recall my days as an 11 year old in the woods of Belton Tx. Now Belton is about 500 feet above sea level and a few hundred miles from the coast. We'd spend out days finding some great fossils. Apparently this area used to be covered by the ocean. Even in my 11 year old mind back then I thought "wtf?". musta been some hellacious dinasour farts back then to cause that.
Posted by: patrick on April 14, 2008 04:33 PMFossils in NW PA...
We have an abundance of fossil evidance here as this area has been under shallow oceans a number of times down thru the geological time periods. Everything from ferns & other plant materials in the coalseams to ocean critters in the shale deposits as well as many sites for large mammals such as mammoths & mastadons.
Living on the shores of Lake Erie we here are quite familiar with the glacial gravel ridges deposited during the last Ice age which were left when the Glaciers retreated & are cognizant of the fact this is what created the Great Lakes.
Sea level rise & fall...they really should be doing a study for the likelihood of plate uplift & subsistance as this was the driving force for not only the abundant evidance for oceanic fossils here but the area between the west coast & central North America as well. However this does require some real education & Psuedo Science will not play well in this arena.
Anyway I do not know what has happened to the professionalism once associated with The National Geographic Society or the Scientific curiosity which was once its main focus. I do know they are about to lose a long time society member from since 1962.
We have had to put up with some live fossils here lately....Swimmer is here today, Hilly & Billy pony shows have wandered thru as have some of the lesser BS artists.....I would like some advance notice if Pope Gore is going to waddle into town so I prepare myself for his BS.
Posted by: Dudley1 on April 14, 2008 08:44 PMSoooo, nobody looked at the web cam? How rude!
You all hate me. I know it now for sure.
Vicki.....
I did try but got a message what I was requesting had expired or had been moved. Sorry!
By the way....I like outdoor vistas but at this time of year after shoveling or snow blowing 10 feet of snow out of my driveway & shop parking lot this winter, I just might have a different take of what is pretty. Just joking!
Posted by: dudley1 on April 16, 2008 08:28 AMvicki - My sister and I looked at it.
