Dear Wahoo

Dear Wahoo,

This is what the bush that you kept cutting down at my old house looks when you let it grow.

Your friend,
Denny

Oh ... a snowball plant!!! I love those things. When I was growing up in Nebraska, we had a row of those in the back yard. My brothers and I would pull the balls of flowers off and throw them at each other like we were having a snowball fight - in the summertime. Brings back memories!

Peggy, were you folks non-plussed about that or did they see a little red? My folks had one that I used to climb in until I got heavy enough to break the branches. It was significantly large.

Denny, that's a beaut! We planted one about five years ago that's about one-quarter that size. If it get to be THAT big, we'll have to transplant it cuz it will overshadow everything else in the plot. Love your azaleas, too, and it was nice to learn they'll grow in acidic soil!

Chappy - Mine is only five years old. It's only supposed to grow to a height of 6 feet. The branches that touch the soil can take root and you can cut them off, dig them out, and transplant them somewhere else. That's how I got the snowball at my old house in St. Louis. I took it off my mother's snowball.

Chappy: There were several of them, so I don't think they missed the flowers we pulled off.

It's beautiful. I love your garden and your tree. I like it when you post those pictures. Let's face it; most of the cartoons are ugly, to say the least...

That's one heck of a nice looking weed! I wonder if they would grow in the Tundra Zone? Very Pretty, I'd call it a marshmellow tree or a french poodle tree. I name my plants, yeah I'm geeky And nerdy -- so what?

Denny, nice bush. I always wanted to say that! Hahaha! It really looks great. Thanks for the pic.

I hear I29 is closed north of here--there was snow in the forecast. So we should be able to use real snow.

Forcythia is about all that is blooming.

Gonna look int that viburnam next trip to Lanoha's though.

LisaKay: LOL! Near our house was a tree my brothers called the "Naked Lady Tree". Yep. It had features that made it hard to ignore!

PeggyU, LOL back atcha! About 8 inches from my Dad's deck is a Walnut tree, which everyone calls the Upside Down Naked Lady tree. I'll see if I can get a good foto to share. Sunday Tree Porn anyone? ;)
