LOL
That's Funny. No news there.
Breaking story! This just in!....the pope is catholic... film at 11
Posted by: hammer on April 28, 2008 02:23 PMObama racist.
Posted by: vetfromhell on April 28, 2008 03:03 PMBreaking story in Saturday Toronto Star (and it's not funny!) "McCain asks the party to axe TV ad targeting Obama's pastor." He accused North Carolina's Republican part of being "out of touch with reality." He also criticized the slow (?) response of President Bush to Katrina.
I don't understand what's going on. I'm flabbergasted!
Breaking News: Totalitarin governments around the world embrace global warming as a fact.
These government implement laws and taxes to subsidize farmers to produce biofuels at bigger profits that the cost of other energy sources.
The result: Proving that the "laws of supply and demand" are a natural law, farmers cut down more trees to grow corn, wheat, etc. to produce biofuels and return higher profirs.
Third world people around the world begin to starve and food riots occur. All so that some liberal asshole can put biofuels in their Prius and feel good about their contribution to saving the "environment."
Any populace, "leaders" or nation that burns its food supply for fuel to satisfy its false
"decision" that there is global warming when there has been actual global cooling over the last 10 years is totally fucking insane.
Claudia - Now do you understand why I am not a big McRINO fan?
Posted by: Denny on April 28, 2008 08:13 PMDenny - Why was he chosen as the Republican candidate? Maybe the party doesn't want to win. Right now, no candidate is good enough to be president. It's a mess!
Posted by: Claudia in Toronto on April 28, 2008 09:15 PMNever mind! Where politic is concerned, from now on, I'm just a "dead parrot pining' for the fjords"...
Posted by: Claudia in Toronto on April 28, 2008 10:02 PMIt's "pinin'for the fjords". Mind a bit numb tonight!
Posted by: Claudia in Toronto on April 28, 2008 10:11 PMClaudia - The Republicans seem to have this "it's his turn" scheme. That's why they nominated Bob Dole in 1996. It was his turn. McRINO lost the nomination in 2000 so in 2008 it was his turn. So here we have the Dims self destructing with their death match and McRINO is trying to lose the election.
Posted by: Denny on April 28, 2008 10:47 PMI'm depressed. I like a good fight. He would have a chance to win with either one as the opponent. He could prove that the economy was good until 2006 when the Congress became Democratic. He could prove that President Bush did all that was needed for Katrina. He could prove that Democrats stopped any possible oil drilling. He could prove that it would be dangerous to withdraw from Iraq.
I could prove all that, and I'm just a Canadian woman. What's the matter with McCain. It's not ethical to speak against the President of your own party when he is still in charge of the country. I didn't think that Republicans did that. But then I forget about poor President Nixon...I cried so much in those days.
Thanks for explaining what's happening, Denny.
Posted by: Claudia in Toronto on April 28, 2008 11:36 PMMcCain is throwing President Bush to the wolves like the Republicans threw President Nixon in the past. At least, President Ford was a decent man and never denigrated President Nixon.
Posted by: Claudia in Toronto on April 29, 2008 12:14 AMonce my brother in law, a pompous chiropractor, told my wife that "all pain hurts". if looks could kill.
maybe below the fold it says "Jackson and Sharpton protest company with deep pockets."
Posted by: patrick on April 29, 2008 12:46 AMReverand Wright is the Most Racist Man in America!!!
He opens his mouth and Shits in Obama's woods!!!!
Posted by: ty guy on April 29, 2008 06:41 AMClaudia - Now do you see why I am not enamored with McRINO?
Posted by: Denny on April 29, 2008 01:19 PMDenny - You were right. I don't think I could vote for him. What's the alternative? It will depend on his "honest" stand on Iraq, and his choice for vice-president. I hope the party will come through in those areas. Then he would do for one term...
Posted by: Claudia in Toronto on April 29, 2008 04:22 PMDenny, I, like you (and I think a very large percentage of the Republicans I know) am not enamored with McCain. I see him as the lesser of two evils. Definitely less reasons to vote for him than Bush had in the last two elections. But when I think of Obama vs McCain, or Clinton vs. McCain, I feel that it's like a night or day comparison. With libs/socialists/Dims, I see NO redeeming values or ideas that support what our country was founded on. At least with McCain, I can at least see some resemblence of philosophies that our countries founding fathers had in mind, so I am forced to vote his ticket this fall.
a few things that would NOT happen under a McCain administration that would under clinton/obama if they could get it through the legislature
1. national health care
2. lose in iraq
3. aclu lawyer(s) ie ginsburg nominated to the supreme court.
That is all I am sure of. we may get a bunch of stuff I don't want, like a david souter, but we will not get hit with the big sh1t that is so hard to undo.
Posted by: patrick on April 29, 2008 05:49 PMIf Senator McCain continues to support the Iraq War, I hope with all my heart that he wins. But, in order to win, he will have to uplift his own party not the other candidates. I would like to know what could he have done better than President Bush in Katrina. I was watching this on CNN. I felt sorry for the people. I have a good heart. I sent one donation. I sent two donations. I sent three donations. At one point, I said to CNN: "Stop the sob story. The President is there. Help is coming from everywhere. Give a chance to everybody to stand up on their own feet and start walking." I felt that CNN was enjoying showing the misery. The Americans are resilient. How long did they need the President to hold their hands?
Mr.McCain should apologize to President Bush. Even if he has a grudge for losing the nomination in 2000. He has it now. Let him prove that he deserves it, and figth the right opponent, not the President.
OK. I said what I needed to say.I truly felt for Katrina but there's just so much that other people and the government could do. To do too much doesn't help. Thank you for listening, Denny.
Posted by: Claudia in Toronto on April 29, 2008 10:45 PMToo funny that you repukes so hate McCain. Hello people! Glad that you are finally seeing the light. Katrina is another story. I was there last year and saw the devestation. But all our bucks are going to the War on Terror. I say let us help our own first.
Posted by: Teresa on April 30, 2008 12:31 AMTeresa TDO - Sometimes, I wonder if you're an American. I never see anything in your words which shows the blood and the courage that built the United States. Don't worry about the Katrina people. They'll get back on their feet. They got plenty of help. Too much. They'll do well when they see that it's up to them, not to the Government, to restart their lives. They're Americans. They know how. They've done it before.
The only time I worry about Mr. McCain is when he borrows ideas from the Democratic candidates and tries to cuddle the people. He went through Hell himself and survived. He should know that Americans know how to get back on their feet.
You should be proud that President Bush is brave enough and strong enough to confront terrorism and defend his country. You've been attacked. You want a coward as a president? You should be proud of your troops willing to fight in Iraq and in Afghanistan instead of putting your country down all the time.
Posted by: Claudia in Toronto on April 30, 2008 11:41 AM
Teresa (TDO) - Hitting the vodka a little early tonight aren't we? Geez! Everytime you make a comment you just sound dumber and dumber. Do you know why Katrina was such a disaster? Money that should have gone into building the levees went into corrupt politicians pockets. And now that we're sending billions to rebuild Nawlins the same thing is happening. And BTW, you should love McRINO since he's a Dimocrat. He's just not as much a rat bastard commie as Thunder Rodent Thighs and Jug Hussein Ears.
It's pretty bad that a Canadian loves this country more than you do. Amazing!
Posted by: Denny on April 30, 2008 01:46 PMTeresa-get laid. Please.
Posted by: vetfromhell on April 30, 2008 02:18 PMI was wondering what happened to all the money that was given for Katrina, before and after the hurricane hit. I couldn't understand why the people felt neglected and forgotten. Their own local politicians let them down. And now the three candidates blame President Bush!!!
Mr.McCain should know better. Even Obama's Holy Preacher named God as New Orleans' Avenger, not Bush...
The Unamerican-Teresa doesn't have a clue. I never read a sensible comment from her. She should be so proud that her son did his tour of duty bravely, protected USA from another attack and returned home safely.
Nobody loves the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. But in those cases, the wars are inevitable. The question is: where do you want it? On the enemy territories or at home? The answer is clear...I hope! It certainly was clear in WW2.
