The Floater

Many readers have asked why I haven't written anything about the Floater and his malignant tumor. I have tried not to descend to the level of the Kos Kidz and the other raging assholes on the left who are always hoping for Cheney and Bush to die.

The Floater is a slimeball, a sleaze and a dooshbag. All this bullshit about him being a liberal icon is just that. Yeah, he cares for the poor just as long as he doesn't have to associate with them. His support for social welfare programs has created a permanent underclass that has effectively destroyed the black family. Go down to the inner city and see babies having babies and not a man in sight. Look at the terrible waste of humanity. We saw what gummint dependency did when Katrina hit. Thanks liberals. Thanks Floater. I hope you're proud of your "accomplishments".

If nothing else, the Floater was guilty of manslaughter. The only remorse he felt was that it destroyed his chance of being president.

He is the last and the least talented of the three Kennedy brothers, not that there was much there to begin with. Camelot was a myth. Jack was a mediocre president. Let's check him out.

Cuban missile crisis. That would have never happened if he hadn't bungled the Bay of Pigs. He stabbed the Cubans in the back and let them be slaughtered on the beach.

Viet Nam. We saw how that worked out.

The space race. I'll give him props for that, but Von Braun wanted to do it differently. He wanted to do it by steps and create a permanent space platform and from there go to the Moon. Instead, we did a quickie. There was no permanence to the program.

Let's not forget "I am a donut."

Bobbie Kennedy? A liberal empty suit just like the Floater.

So the Floater has cancer? Big deal. Do I hope he suffers? I don't really care. I would like to see him put into an Oldsmobile and pushed off a bridge.

The Floater is one of the reasons I sometimes wish there was a God and there were a heaven and a hell. One of my readers said he was finally gonna be able to face Mary Jo Kopechne. I replied that he's prolly gonna go to a different place.

It reminds me of a story my cousin Steve told me about one of his relatives who died. The deceased's wife made them open the casket to make sure he had shoes on 'cause he was gonna need them where he was going. I think they better make sure of that with the floater.

About the Floater's cancer? Mary Jo could not be reached for comment.

GOC, I believe you have mellowed a whole lot since you retired from THAT company. On this subject of the Floater, I would have really liked to see your rantings and ravings like you did in your good old days.

Re: JFK

Cuban missile crisis. That would have never happened if he hadn't bungled the Bay of Pigs. He stabbed the Cubans in the back and let them be slaughtered on the beach.

More importantly, the "history" is that the Soviets "blinked" - they were bluffing with an empty hand the whole time.

The reason they were putting missiles into Cuba was that they didn't have any other way to threaten the US (realistically) - 400 MPH WWII technology Bear bombers against the new jet interceptors? Not a Pretty Picture.

He did fine with the rest of it, but the entire episode was a case of Russian Bluff, and then letting them write the history of it, taking their word for it.

If nothing else, the Floater was guilty of manslaughter.

As much as the man has nothing non-malignant about him - I don't think he was there that night.

I think he drove off - they were necking - and then they drove off when the cop drove up - and he got out and walked back to the party. She drove off the bridge by herself, because he didn't want to ruin his rep.

But when the news broke, there was speculation, hell, Kennedy probably didn't remember the night before, stuff got said stupidly, rather than the truth... and well, we got where we are today.

He's a bullshitter, a liar, and he's never come clean about that accident, where he tried to claim victimhood - over the literal dead body of his employee (that he was sexually harrassing).

Overheard at many a funeral from family that did not care for the deceased.

"I hope they bury him with gasoline underwear on."

I always thought that one was funny.

About 50 years ago, a family friend learned he had a cancerous brain tumor. He put all his affairs in order, provided for his wife and children and then committed suicide. Fifty years ago, there was no treatment except pain killers.

I wish Teddy a long life under HillaryCare, it will be a good example for the rest of the Nation.
As a good Catholic, Teddy would never want to commit suicide, would he?

Posted by: Jim Macklin on May 23, 2008 05:58 PM

What makes you think Teddy is a good Catholic?

"Let's not forget "I am a donut.""
JELLY Donut. A Berliner is a JELLY donut.

The Kennedy family did prove one thing. People can be bought at a cheap price. A low class of people, some call them democrats, sold their soul to the Kennedy's years ago and still ask how much every time a Kennedy accidently says 'shit'.

Posted by: Scrapiron on May 23, 2008 06:23 PM

By the way I was one of the AF types sitting on a nuclear bomb 24-7 during the missile crisis. Old B-47 bombers at the ready.

Posted by: Scrapiron on May 23, 2008 06:25 PM

And I was one of the ones sitting in the Pentagon reading all the raw intelligence as it came in from Cuba all during the missile crisis. There is a lot that was never told about that one and probably never will be. Mishandled all the way until the actual conclusion. JFK was a disaster from the military POV for sure.

If you consult Mark Moyar's "Triumph Forsaken", you will learn how JFK and David Halberstam of the NYT were responsible for the plot which assassinated Ngo Dinh Diem, our South Vietnamese ally, destabilizing the government just when Diem was beginning to achieve some success in establishign stability - and ultimately losing the war he got us into.
And BTW - JFK was also the president who dabbled in assassination plots against Castro & Patrice Lumumba, even though Frank "Rogue Elephant" Church tried to stick the blame on Nixon.
Camel lot - a place where you find camel toes, camel turds, and Kennedys.

this is a helluva good old school thread that I am reluctant to soil... but...its the floater.

Jim Macklin ...good catholic? snigger please...

The part that galls me now are the accolades being thrown his way. makes me just sick. what a waste of 600 lbs of good irish whiskey, cheeseburgers, and various buffets.

your sis former neighbor - You don't have to say THAT company anymore. It's IBM. And you're right. I have mellowed a lot since I've retired.

As far as the Cuban Missle Crisis, folks, we LOST that one. Sure, The Ruskies pulled their stuff out of Cuba, but we were forced to pull ours out of Turkey. The Russian stuff was junk, we had better equipment and the means to knock theirs out before they ever had them fueled. The missles in Cuba were a paper tiger, our stuff in Turkey was the real deal, equipment that could hit anywhere in European Russia and beyond. We packed it up and moved it out. Point Russia.
When all was said and done, we won the cold war but at greater cost thanks to the Kennedy clan.

It is too bad The Floater has "The senate Health Care Plan" and millions to boot. That fat shit will prolly still be around until the cockroaches die.

Posted by: kerrcarto on May 24, 2008 12:35 AM

I have mixed feelings on JFK. I was too young to remember his administration. Raised as an Irish Catholic I was spoonfed his martyrdom at an early age. The Kennedy family made it's fortune bootlegging liquor from England and Canada into the US. Sam Giancana did fix the Chicago vote for JFK. You nailed it Denny when you mentioned how JFK got us into Vietnam. All the Vietnam vets remember that but not much of the living population. Bay of pigs was a mess. And JFK was a philanderer from hell.

But I have always been captivated by his US Navy service in WWII. PT109 made a big impression on me as a kid growing up. And at least as President he would use the military. He was more conservative than most of today's Republicans. And I thought the space program was great for this country. We caught the russians and kicked their ass, just like we did with communism. I still think of his assassination as one of the greatest tragedies this country has ever faced. And I think LBJ clipped him.

I am old enough to know that politicians all have a degree of corruption. You do not get to be President being an altar boy. I like my politicians real. Give me a gritty smoke filled room son of a bitch over a lily livered milquetoast any day.

Bobby went WAAY too far to the left. If he had been President there could have been a civil war.

I never gloat on illness for a fellow american, no matter how repugnant. I made a snide joke about Ted in a previous post and felt bad when he was diagnosed. He is an a-1 assclown that literally got away with murder. He could have prevented the dems leftward slide into socialism but chose to hasten it instead. Grand Dragon Byrd crying over him to me is hilarious, since his father probably help string up Irish in the Klan.

I'm alright with JFK. Bobby, pass.

Ted: sorry about your illness. I will close with a limerick I saw on a M street bathroom wall in DC in 1980:

There was a young senator from Mass,
who wanted a fine piece of ass.
He lucked up and found one,
fucked up and drowned one,
and now his future is in the past.

Hopefully, barack will pick him as VP.
LOL

Ted Kennedy -

A perfect example of this lifetime Karma.

His condition (as are all of ours) is created out of how we perceive what we have done.

Whether this life or the next.

One of my readers said he was finally gonna be able to face Mary Jo Kopechne. I replied that he's prolly gonna go to a different place.

I tried to post a comment to that effect, I guess it disappeared into those Intarweb tubes. You're right, the chances of Swimmer meeting St Peter fall into two categories: Slim and None, and my money's on None.

Posted by: Grumpy Old Ham on May 24, 2008 09:59 AM

A couple of minor points:

1. There were four Kennedy brothers. Joe Jr., the eldest, was killed during WW II. Family historians write that he was the one most likely headed for political greatness. Upon his death that mantle fell to Jack.

2. Jack's summit meeting in Vienna with Krustchev laid the groundwork for the Cuban Missile Crisis. Krustchev's measure of Kennedy during that meeting showed Kennedy to be weak, inexperienced, and immature. The fact that Krustchev "blinked" and removed those missiles led to his own downfall within the Politburo.

I wouldn't doubt that Kennedy's assassination was a direct result of either his successful bluff over Krustchev or his bungling of the Bay of Pigs invasion. There are well documented ties to both scenarios. Oswald was a known Communist sympathizer (his wife was a Soviet citizen) and Jack Ruby was tied to La Cosa Nostra (the Mafia).

Mama always told me that if I couldn't say anything nice about somebody, then I should just remain silent.

I'll be in my bunk.

I guess something nice to say about Ted is he is extraordinarily bouyant.

Grumpy - As a Catholic child I was indoctrinated in the concept that at death we go to meet St Peter at the Pearly Gates.. He dismisses us or lets us in. I don't see the chowder filled fella getting in.

My mother always told me to look at the truth, learn to accept it and speak of it with courage.
Thank you, Denny, for this very honest post. I needed it!

The process of sanctification and idolazition the Kennedys have been honoured with again this week, on the media, has made me sick. It's time for USA to topple the pedestal.

My husband was a British diplomat. In October 1962, we were in Houston, Texas, with our two young chidren, 750 miles in direct line with Cuba, during the Missile Crisis. We all knew that it was a result of the Bay of Pig failure. As far as we were concerned, because of a young, inexperienced President, for two weeks, we were at the brink of a nuclear war. It's not funny to teach your tots how to duck, knowing that ducking will not save a life.

Diplomats don't just go to fancy parties. They learn everything about the country they are posted to. We knew about Vietnam, and that Diem had been supported by USA. LBJ called him,in public, "The Winston Churchill of Asia." In private, he said Diem was no good but they had nobody else. We also learned (before the general public) that a coup had been organised by the CIA to get rid of Diem. He had been promised safety but he and his brother were assassinated on November 2, 1963. I always thought that this was the end of the Vietnam War.

Three weeks later, on November 22, President Kennedy came to Texas, and visited Houston. He met the Diplomatic Corps for one hour. After he left, we gathered together, as it's the habit. The British Consul, an older man of wide experience, just shook his head sadly, and said, "That poor young man is a walking disaster."

That poor young man was assassinated the day after. We never discussed JFK again in private and in public. The Legend grew. I often wondered if LBJ, RFK, and the CIA though of Diem's death when President Kennedy was killed.

I don't believe in retribution. I don't believe either in sanctification. A lot of good American citizens do their work faithfully everyday. Soldiers serve; some die. People suffer sickness. There is seldom a mention of any of them. I wish no ill to Senator Kennedy but I really don't think that he deseves the thanks of your nation just for being a Kennedy.

From Canada, with all my heart.

ty guy - Thanks!

My last day with a computer till August. I depend on all of you to convince my friends from Texas that McCain is worth voting for. The country doesn't need a Kennedy-Carter-Obama at the helm. It would be another disaster. You're such good people. You deserve better.

Hey Jedi

More importantly, the "history" is that the Soviets "blinked" - they were bluffing with an empty hand the whole time.

Uh, Kennedy traded airbases in Turkey for the Soviets pulling back. I'd say that Kennedy blinked. And since I was in the military, that worked well for me.

But it was Kennedy's desire to "meet" that caused the inital problem.

Remind you of anyone we all know??
