My kind of car dealer, and it's in my home state of Missouri.
Max Motors, a small Butler, Missouri dealership that has as its logo a grimacing cowboy wielding a pistol, has sold more than 30 cars and trucks in the last three days, far more than its normal volume. And owner Mark Muller credits his decision to start offering buyers their choice of a $250 gas card or a $250 credit at a gun shop."This thing has taken off. Sales have quadrupled," said Muller. The store sells both used and new vehicles including General Motors and Ford products.
Well this oughta piss off the Nebraska Nitwit, "more punks with guns". I love it.
Every buyer so far "except one guy from Canada and one old guy" has elected to take the gun, Muller said. Muller recommends his customers select a Kel-Tec .380 pistol.
A Canadian pussy and a WTD.
Muller said the promotion was inspired by Illinois Sen. Barack Obama, who is vying with Hillary Clinton to be the Democratic nominee for the presidential election in November."We did it because of Barack Obama. He said all those people in the Midwest, you've got to have compassion for them because they're clinging to their guns and their Bibles. I found that quite offensive."
Me too. This grouchy old cripple clings to his German Mauser and his S&W 640.
We all go to church on Sunday and we all carry guns," said Muller. "I've got a gun in my pocket right now. I have a rifle in my truck. We've got to shoot the coyotes out here, they're attacking our cows, our chickens. We're not clinging to nothing. We're just damn glad to live in a free country where you can have a gun if you want. This is the way it ought to be."
Amen brother!

Posted by: CharlieDelta on May 27, 2008 09:15 PMI think I'd use my $250 on a colt 1911. I doubt It would cover the whole thing but it would make quite a dent.
Posted by: patrick on May 27, 2008 10:11 PMWho's the pussy? the one who don't need a gun or the one who is too afraid to go out without one?
Posted by: Prosper on May 28, 2008 02:46 AMWhat makes the Canadian a pussy? How do you know he didn't WANT the gun?
He likely didn't take the gun because of what would happen when he got to the border. Canada is Massachusetts-North when it comes to evil nasty guns.
Posted by: the Friendly grizzly on May 28, 2008 05:35 AMNeither...the French Guy is the Pussy!!!!
Posted by: ty guy on May 28, 2008 06:27 AMProsper, with you being of French persuasion and all, I can understand your fear of guns. The premise behind gun ownership is self protection and a deterrent to criminal activity. The French have absolutely no concept of either, so this program the car dealer has is completely foreign to you. But don't worry, when the chips are down and the camel jockeys are taking over your country, we'll bring our guns to your shores and make it safe for you to eat your cheese............again.
a deterrent to criminal activity? what a joke. You certainly have the most violent society in werstern civilization...
Posted by: Prosper on May 28, 2008 08:05 AMProsper.......
When one factors in all of the types of violent crime....America is the most violent of western Nations??? Not very likely, but given the propensity of the most violent of Criminals both domestic & Foreign to use the most violent of measures to commit criminal activities......I`ll keep my guns & be prepared to use them if the situation dictates a need to do so.
I will not point out the most obvious differences of a truly free society & the European controlled models as you would not recognize the differences in the first place or understand mankind is able to intelligently provide for his individual & common defense without the Government telling or ordering him what to do.
As to a deterrent factor ...this is indisputable as every time people are given access to weapons ....crime rates have declined. In fact for those cities which allow for open carry by private citizens, the crime rate for violent activities has fallen dramatically.
We believe in this country for the right of a citizen to keep & bear arms, to protect themselves, their family & their country. It is not about hunting or target shooting though these be legitimate activities but more so the god given rights of a free people.
Apparently this is no longer a French concept.....more is the pity for the French people.
Posted by: dudley1 on May 28, 2008 08:39 AMProsper, obviously you haven't examined other countries in the Western Hemisphere, specifically those in South America with far higher crime rates. Need I remind you there was massive violence on your shores years ago involving Americans, and now you're free. Seems like that happens a lot with you Frogs.
Posted by: KentuckyJoe on May 28, 2008 08:53 AM"You certainly have the most violent society in werstern civilization..."
Is this true? Do you know this for a fact? (not one of those Frenchie websites either, I'm talking about a cold hard fact.) Does that concept mean anything to you. If it is in fact true, one could argue that with the "Most open and free society in werstern (sic) civilization, then with it might come the violence. I will also argue with you that the majority of violence that occurs in this country is directed within the small societies that it occurs in. This means minorities, gangs, drug dealers, vagrants etc. They are being violent to and killing each other. I have no problem with that. It's Darwins law. If we give it enough time, they'll drive themselve into extinction. Just like the French society is doing to itself right now.
Posted by: Ray on May 28, 2008 08:54 AMProsper, I think this MIGHT help you understand a little better.
Posted by: kerrcarto on May 28, 2008 08:58 AMI raise my hat to the "western hemisphere" of kentuckyJoe. Big laugh of the day...
Ray, I dropped once crime stats on this blog, the answer was : "We have bad numbers because at least we, proud americans, tell the truth and don't cheat whith those stats".
so, as you may say : been there, done that.
At least you, Ray, recognize this could be true.
Posted by: Prosper on May 28, 2008 09:08 AMIts quite possible the Canadian knew he'd have more trouble than it was worth to try to get the gun home.
I'm Canadian and have over 30 rifles and 9 handguns, but I wouldn't bother trying to import on my own.
Anyway, who the hell wants a .380?

French commandoes recaptured a yacht from Somali pirates with minimal loss of life, and possibly wiped a couple of 4WDs on shore.
Is anyone else doing anything against pirates?
Guys, maybe we should lighten up a bit on Prosper.
Just sayin'
France at #14 on the violent crime list and rising. What's gonna happen when the Moo-slimes run out of cars to burn? BWAHAHAHAHAHA!
Posted by: Denny on May 28, 2008 11:51 AM"French commandoes"
You mean such a creature exists. I thought they were extinct.
"You certainly have the most violent society in western civilization"
Why don't you tell us about all those rioting moslems you have over in France causing all that, as the french put it, "civil unrest?" The way you europeans are rolling over and practically giving your continent away to those rag-wearing camel fuckers in the name of diversity, multiculturalism and political correctness is embarrassing. Makes the effort we made to win WW2 and save your punk asses seem like a waste.
Posted by: thatjerryguy on May 28, 2008 12:46 PMNow everyone remember: If Prosper is ever faced with being threatened by an armed criminal out to harm him, he will whip his soccer ball out and kick some goals until said criminal either gets bored with the whole thing, or just falls on the ground pissing his pants with laughter. THAT's how they do it in France...
Posted by: CharlieDelta on May 28, 2008 08:48 PMCD - I remember that thread from some weeks back. funny.
Posted by: patrick on May 29, 2008 01:35 AMCharlieDelta,
If Prosper is ever threatened by an armed criminal, wouldn't he just surrender? After all, isn't THAT how they do it in France?
;-)
CD, another difference between your country and almost all the others on earth : soccer, real name fotball (a ball played with foot), is the most popular sport.
thatjerryguy, you really should come and visit, not only watch fox news...
Posted by: Prosper on May 29, 2008 09:30 AMProsper,
I have been to France, thank you very much. Aside from Paris (very prententious) I had a good time. The Normandy coast is beautiful, BTW. Glad we saved it for you.
Now, have you ever been to the US, or do you get all your info about America from a bunch of latte-sipping eurotrash elitists?
Posted by: thatjerryguy on May 29, 2008 10:13 AMProspero, you have car burning muslims in your town. We have theiving crackhead asshats and gang bangers in ours. They sneak in and steal the copper pipes out of our houses and don't even have the courtesy of turning the gas off before hand. You stick with your fire extinguisher if that works for you, I have automatic weapons. I cling to my Constitutional Right to bear arms, bare arms and arm bears if I wanna.
As far as I'm concerned, SOCCER is a girly game.
LisaKay.....
Soccer is a girly game!......teaching girls how to kick balls is not a particulary wise choice as far as I am concerned.
Anyway I agree about clinging to my weapons....once when I was a Deputy conservation officer & carrying my 45 Auto, some agitator asked me if I had enough firepower to protect me .......My answer was Yeah! at least until they make a 46 Auto.
Posted by: dudley1 on May 31, 2008 10:57 AMLisa, in your country, that's right...
In your country, real men enjoy football, basketball, or Hockey...
But they enjoy it on a couch (too violent, too high or too cold), that's why most of them are fat... In Europe, Africa and South America, we play soccer, but we really PLAY it. That's why The Worl Cup of Soccer is the number one sport event after Olymic Games...
Posted by: Prosper on June 1, 2008 04:28 PMC'Mon Prosper-
Yes, we know that foooooooooot-ball is the 'sport of the Euro's, but c'mon...
...a sport where someone can "tie"? WTF? What a bunch of crap...
A "tie" is nothing more than saying that your 'red pencil' will damage your kid's self-esteem. If you wanna win, then let your kid win without the pussification of it all...
Winning is a good thing...
Posted by: CharlieDelta on June 1, 2008 09:58 PMRemember Coubertin's maxim : "The important thing is not to win, but to take part."
Of course it's pure crap for those who think sport is only a show, that you must watch with coca and pop corn.
I may be wrong, but I thougth you can tie in your american football. Am I wrong?
Prosper - Nope. In the pros, if a game ends in a tie, there is a sudden death overtime. In the college game, there is an overtime period and each team gets the ball on the opposing team's 20 yard line so each team gets an equal chance to score. This goes on until one team wins.
Posted by: Denny on June 2, 2008 10:57 AMProsper......
Soccer is a sport? Well if you say so , the Arabs rate Soccer right up there with plunking camels or goats but whatever you enjoy I guess. Soccer is a high energy sport for the participants....too bad when they invented it they left out scoring.
Yeah some of we Americans are to fat but we hunt ,fish, golf, boat, shoot, play baseball or real football the kind you score in.......a multitude of activities actually.
Many of the activities we call sport are based on the experience of the hunt or chase, a desire to win & the thrill of victory. This may seem foreign to many Europeans but there is a difference between winning & losing....maybe it is a cultural thing.
As Denny pointed out we have created a novel way of dealing with a potential tie .....probably because we feel a contest should have a decisive conclusion or the contest was futile in the first place.
Posted by: dudley1 on June 3, 2008 08:14 AMdon't denigrate soccer man, your national team competed bravely and fiercely in the last world cup. They obtained a tie against the next world champions. A tie, but a really big game...
Prosper......
I do not mean to denigrate Soccer, after all outside the United States it has wide appeal.I must admit the attraction escapes me as its principle thrills appears to be how much of the stadium can be destroyed, how many people are injured or how many cars are torched. The score does not seem to be important.
Yes we have Soccer here in the USA even a National Team , these events can sometimes draw a crowd of 100 or so people. The rest of us are out doing something other.
