Black Angus Steakhouse tastes like anus anyway. They're all over the place up here. It's almost as bad as Outback. I may sound like an anti-steakhouse guy but I gotta tell ya, the juiciest most delicious steaks are what's cookin' on the backyard grill with family, friends, and cold beer. Can I get an "Amen"?
Posted by: Paul on July 15, 2008 01:33 PMAMEN Paul! The only good thing about the Outback or Black Anus is the women they hire, and the cold beer at the bar. I've never had as good of steak as I have had on my own grill.
Posted by: CharlieDelta on July 15, 2008 01:42 PMWhat about Ruth's Chris ? I've never eat at one, I have trouble "stomaching" a $200 meal...Something just WRONG about that, to this ol' country boy, anyway.. Getting back to th' pic, I'm surprised some of the Perpetually Pissed didn't file suit for discrimination, defamation, discombobulation or SOMETHING over that...-Sandy G.
Posted by: Sandy G on July 15, 2008 02:01 PMI need to keep my camera with me. I see stuff like that quite often.
Posted by: hamer on July 15, 2008 02:27 PMRuth's Chris is awesome. They made me one of the best steaks that I ever had in my 38 years of life. It was thick, juicy, and tender. The outside was black and crispy with seasoning. And Rush was right. When it's brought to the table, the thing is still sizzling on the plate. Just my wife and I spent about $100. But we didn't get everything like if Denny was paying the bill.
I've enthusiastically recommended it to many people. It's worth the price even just to go once.
I ate at a Morton's of Chicago once, they were so good I remember we actually bought a ice chest at the grocery store just to keep our left overs cold for the trip home the next day. Ran about 200 for me and wife, but that included a couple of drinks and about 30 bucks or so in desert :P
(We were in San Antonio, and had to drive back to DFW, this was Anniversary #1)
For something much more affordable and not disappointing, SaltGrass steaks have always been lovely to me.
Posted by: Cinomed on July 15, 2008 03:36 PMAmen, Paul! Stuart Anderson's also runs food services at some colleges. We used to have "steak night" every so often at the college cafeteria way back when I was in school. Tough and chewy it was. They had a "comment board" at the exit from the cafeteria - a corkboard that people could tack notes to about the service. One day, after steak night, I saw that someone had impaled a bloody piece of gristle on a fork and speared it into the comment board.
Posted by: PeggyU on July 15, 2008 04:26 PMPaul - for bang for the buck I truly agree. Defining it even more, I think the best steaks are at Sam's. Not walmart though. Sam's flank steak (for the healthy times) and ribeye (for the not so healthy) are wonderful.
I also like saltgrass. wife likes to go there for the grilled salmon.
I am occasionally at fru fru places like Ruth's Chris, Del Frico's, and Mortons but always for a business thing where it is someone elses dime. very good, but not $200 good.
I think this steakhouse now owes Jesse its firstborn.
Posted by: patrick on July 15, 2008 04:40 PMMike Finks the Riverboat...
They have some of the best steaks & prime rib there or did when I spent many business trips in Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky.
This is located on the Kentucky side of the Ohio river across from the Ball park. As for me the wet bar for daily fresh Jumbo Shrimp, Prawns, King Crab & other shellfish always took center stage from Beef.
Posted by: dudley1 on July 15, 2008 05:53 PMYou sure that's not a campaign sign for the Obamanation?
Oh, dudley, the best steaks in Cincinnati / N.KY are at Jeff Ruby's.

I`ll take your word for it, I never been to or heard of Jeff Ruby`s. Hope to try it sometime!
