Kemah Texas:
Here I am in a Days Inn just off the Kemah Boardwalk. Isn't there a law that states that all Days Inn hotels be owned and operated by Indians?
Drove through more rain (a few really good downpours where you couldn't see very far in front of you), but at least it was nice and sunny while I loaded up the car. Wish we could get some of this rain back in Georgia.
I was really expecting all the road construction between the border and Beaumont Texas to be completed by now. No such luck. Maybe next year.
Talked to Jim and we're getting together this evening. We're gonna have sumpin' to celebrate. The Supremes done good on the Second Amendment case. It should have been 9-0 but we have four liberals who want to rewrite the Constitution. Assholes! I betcha Socialist Sally really has her panties in a bunch about it.
I like Louisiana's response to no death penalty for the child rapist. If they can't kill him they're gonna castrate him. Now there's a punishment that fits the crime.
More later. Maybe. If not, this site will prolly be dark until Sunday night. I don't expect internet service at Camp Blownstar. No cell service either. I mean look at the map at the bottom of the page. It's in the middle of nowhere in the Hill Country of Texas.
Posted by denny at June 26, 2008 02:46 PMYes, finally a victory for gun owning Americans! Put that in your pipe and smoke it Socialist Sally! I'll be celebrating with some of my gun owning buddies tonight as well.
Did you hear about Feinstein saying that this ruling is "going to make this country less safe"? What a fucking moron! I wonder if Sally is barricaded inside of her trial lawyer office crappin' her pants. BWAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!
Posted by: CharlieDelta on June 26, 2008 06:03 PMHave a good time! Give me a month, Denny. Then Dr.Snigger will allow me enough wine drinking for you to sound like Segovia with the guitar, and Caruso with the singing. I'll lift my two glasses to all of you, this Saturday. Trying 2005 Pinot Grigio from California. Tetra Pak, written on it: "Wine SNOB tested. Mother EARTH approved." Never saw this before. A gift from a friend. Prolly organic grapes and environment conscious packaging!!!
Posted by: Claudia on June 26, 2008 06:40 PMWe take our victories where we can find them then move on to the next battle...cliched maybe...but we have right on our side and will see off the liberal traitors or we will perish.
Posted by: thud on June 26, 2008 07:47 PMSince castration isn't mentioned in the constitution the American Communist Party (aka democrat) will sue and the liberals on the joke (aka SCOTUS) will overturn the law. Does anyone in the country trust the justice system today? I've never had a run in with the law and I don't trust anyone connected to the justice system (above an elected sheriff) and don't trust anyone in government, employed or elected.
Posted by: Scrapiron on June 26, 2008 07:58 PMThere is always road construction on I-10 between the state line and Beaumont. There is always road construction on I-10 going through Houston. It has always been so and will always be so.
Posted by: PawPaw on June 26, 2008 08:30 PMthis is a little salty but funy as hell. The boys in the Knoxville Fire Dept. (Tenn.) always went to Indy and stayed at the fire halls for the Indy 500. Well Norte Dame played Tennessee in football. The boys from Indy wanted to come down and stay with us and needed directions. Well one of are guys who later became big chief place his balls on the table they took a picture and used the veins as a map. to this day when I think about that incident I laugh till
I cry.. like right now... sorry just had to share spanky
If the Jim you mention is the guy on the sloop in galveston harbor, will you tell him for me and others, I'm sure, that we miss his clear writing.
Posted by: KathyP on June 26, 2008 10:06 PMlived in houston 8 years. don't remember a time when some part of I-10 wasn't fubar.
have a great time in the hill country. haven't been back there in awhile.
btw, have you noticed that texans refer to the state line as "the border." what a great state!
cheers.
Posted by: Pip on June 26, 2008 11:18 PMHouston stole my heart in the sixties. Never gave it back. Great people. Everything is bigger in Texas than anywhere else. That's what they say. They're right. Specially the hospitality.
Posted by: Claudia on June 26, 2008 11:30 PMKathyP - That was the same Jim. I told him he needs to write more.
Posted by: Denny on June 27, 2008 12:03 AMI say, next we should arm all kids when they leave the house! Castration hasn't prevented the baby rapers from acting out their creepy proclivities. Quite simply put, they NEED killin'.
Yay to the Supremes Indeedie on the gun ruling! They got something right this week! Hopefully this will help in the lawsuit against Chicago...
Before you go, check the Conceal Carry Laws in Texas guys, we are talking total Concealment.
The SCOTUS blew it. Right outcome Wrong reason....
No need to drag crime and self-defense into the argument. The Founders wanted to ensure that a free people would remain free. The right is secured within the bill of rights so that no government, foreign or domestic, can exercise tyranny over the citizens of this country.
The court rightly said so when it outlawed sawed off shotguns as not being fit weapons for war. Of course Vietnam proved the "unfit" assessment to be wrong. I never understood how the so called "assault weapons ban" was allowed to stand for ten years till it expired.
In line with the founders intent, there really should be stronger protections to allow ownership of machine guns rather than handguns. Of course, I doubt that the leftists in this country would be willing to allow gun ownership on any basis.
If they want the emphasis on the militia part, I doubt that having citizen militias spring up among the armed citizenry would satisfy them either.
I have heard the gun control advocates say that the "Well Regulated Militia" is the National Guard. Well, as long as the Federal Government is the source of the Guard's funding, armaments, and command and control, it is a long way from being the force counterbalance that the Founders envisioned to keep the Government subject to the citezenry.
Hopefully in the next few years the court can get this straight. Of course if BHO packs the court we can kiss the second ammendment goodby totally.
Probably true under McCain as well.
As Denny says....We're Screwed!
Denny,
I am from Utopia, Tx. If you are anywhere near Kerrville, you must take the old highway 16 out of Kerrville through Medina, then on to Vanderpool. From Vanderpool, take the mountain road to Leaky, then head east a few miles, take a left to Utopia. Prettiest drive in Texas.
Stop in Utopia at the Lost Maples Cafe for great food. My cousins Rusty and Tacy are the owners. They are really great to visit with.
Utopia on the River is an excellent B&B right - yes, on the river.
Oh, yeah, you know, when we used to castrate livestock, they pretty quickly switched their priorities from ass to grass. After all, once someone rapes a child, what rights should they ever have anyway?

So you stayed at the "Patel Hotel?"
Posted by: The Lone Haranguer on June 29, 2008 11:27 AMTLH, its not just the Daze Inns. Its now part of the immigrant lottery, they get off the boat and draw to find out if they get a Motel 6, Seveneleven, or a New York taxi.
