Blogtoberfest

Wow! We're already preparing for the 5th (I think that's right) annual Blogtoberfest, or as we tell the Chalet Kristy (which for some unknown reason, allows us to return every year and trash rooms and cabins), the Southeastern Writers' Conference. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! We allow lurkers to attend these things so you can see Blown-Eyed Blodgers in their natural state: drunk and unruly.

You can also see stuff like this. Yep! That's V-Man one of the founding members of the Blown-Eyed Blodgers showing us his softer feminine side which contrasts to his evil side of terrifying children tubing down the 'Hooch.

We have also had someone call the police on us for shooting off fireworks.

You may see Georgia cracking a bullwhip in the Kristy's parking lot.

Often there is a game of half rubber from the more athletic souls among us.

If you want to come, call the Chalet Kristy at 706-878-2155. Ask for one of the rooms or cabins reserved for the Southeastern Writers' Conference. (Snicker) For more info contact Holder at her blog at the url I posted above.

We always have a good time at Helen.

What happens in Helen doesn't stay in Helen but always appears on lots of blogs.

Gonna be any hot games of poker or guitar pickin' happening that weekend??

Hey Denny-- problem with your email? When I send you stuff, it keeps getting kicked back.

Posted by: Potfry on July 18, 2008 10:48 AM

Michele - Guitar pickin' for sure. Both of the Elderly Brothers should be there.

Potfry - Try sending directly to gocinatlanta@bellsouth.net. If that fails, let me know. I thought I knew what the problem was, but I was wrong.

Helen, eh?

Well-within my range of Operations.

Tell me true: is it within the realm-of-possibility that a van-camper such as myself (who can set up a tent-site in minutes) (or less) might possibly be welcome?

Lest there be no misunderstanding, I can easily afford reservations and showers and such; I just like to camp off to the side of things.

How much beer of what brand(s) might I bring as a kick-start? As to what I eat, I am partial to what I read about above & in earlier-posts:

Hash, bacon, eggs, toast, OJ, --all in copious-quantity. Such is enough nutrition to bring me well-into-the night.

A Caution: normally, day-in-day-out, I drink 16-Oz Beck's and Bushmills Irish Whiskey. Of late, I am experimenting with E&J Brandy and colder Beck's beer.

Is that going to be a problem for anyone going to Helen?

Heh, heh heh!

In repsonse to an E-mail R'cevd not 30-seconds after I posted,

OK! There can be onions! :)

I'm sure there is camping nearby as GuyK brought his RV last year.

Drink anything you want. There will usually be lots of Chatham Artillery Punch. I'm sure there will be lots of Shiner there as well.

So 3-4 cases of Shiner would not go to waste if delivered aboard the "Dan S.-Express"?

K; I'll take care of that aspect.

How does One get fed in a BlogToberFest Helen?

Posted by: Dan S. on July 19, 2008 01:16 AM

DanS - Offtimes we all go out to eat at The Troll, an aptly name restaurant for blodgers. I have to go under a bridge to get there. This year, we are thinking of having a cookout on Saturday night.

I doubt if 3-4 cases of Shiner would go to waste.

K; - a cookout Saturday night here in Lil Barn almost always involves shish-kabob beef, pork, chicken on one kabob while the other has onion, tomato, peppers & raw-chunks of potato.

This allows for two-fisted ham-handed noshing by those (such as myself) who get most of their calories from liquids who also have to eat all day long to maintain a blood-sugar level..

Plus, we rarely have to wear a bib.

....

Let me know about Friday night in Helen in October; how many might I plan to feed?
