Here's Your Score: You correctly answered 12 out of the 12 possible questions, which means you did better on the quiz than 100% of the general public.

Use the interactive tool below to find out more about how your score compares with other Americans who took the test in our national telephone survey:

Fuck, I Hate that I that I know stuff!

Posted by: Dan S. on July 21, 2008 10:36 PM

Aced as well. Thanks talk radio. You biased assholes.

Posted by: kerrcarto on July 21, 2008 10:52 PM

Dang, how did I get a negative score? I guess some answers are more wrong then others.
Couldn't find dingy Harry, or screamqueen dean.
And donks and dumbascraps weren't listed for parties in congress. And since we all know the economy is tanked, it must be 4000 for the Dow, and close to a million troops dead since kansas lost thousands in the Greensburg tornado.
Nor was insanity listed as a state for McCain.

My oh My!

Posted by: Jeremy on July 21, 2008 11:23 PM

ok i admit i missed one for some reason i had a brain fart on the new chair of the Fed Reserve was.

Posted by: Dan S. on July 21, 2008 11:28 PM

kerrcarto-
Ditto. Talk radio is about all the news I really get. Listen to it all day at work. Well, I've always enjoyed getting my news here as well.

I got 10 of 12. Must've been the money related questions I missed. Since I'm a SPF I don't really pay much attention to the Dow...

Posted by: CharlieDelta on July 21, 2008 11:31 PM

For the record: I got 83.

Wasn't certain if McCain represents Arizona or not.
Wasn't sure who is at the head of the DNC.

I'm Canadian, so **** you. lol

Posted by: red collar on July 21, 2008 11:57 PM

Ah, just saw it. I got 10 out of 12.

Take that Obama: I know there are fewer than 57 states, you jerk! And none of your relatives liberated Aushchwitz! That's a scientific fact.

It's even a "truism".

Posted by: red collar on July 22, 2008 12:02 AM

83.

Posted by: vetfromhell on July 22, 2008 12:25 AM

91%. ARRGGHHH! I missed Majority Leader of the Senate! Dang it!

Posted by: Mary on July 22, 2008 12:32 AM

9 out of 12...not bad for an old Canadian woman ...Everything American, I learned at GOC.

But, Denny, as far as I remember, you never speak about the Dow Jones average and the Charmain of US Reserve. I missed those two. And to my great shame, I didn't know how many American soldiers had been killed.

International news, I learned from my favourite newsman on CTV: Lloyd Robertson.I love him with all my heart. Never miss a broadcast. I swear to you, he winks at me when he says goodnight...He is on vacation presently. Otherwise, I would have known about the Dow Jones average.

Posted by: Claudia on July 22, 2008 12:38 AM

97% and I have always hated the Serbians!!!
Hate the democrats too!!!!

I got nothing in comparison.

DanS-
What passes for the 'news' these days is complete liberal biased bullshit. I figgered you for a subscriber...

Posted by: CharlieDelta on July 22, 2008 05:16 AM

Here's Your Score: You correctly answered 12 of the 12 possible questions along with approximately 3% of the public. You did better than 97% of the general public.

So, does that mean 3% of the public got more than 12 out of 12 correct?

Posted by: Dan on July 22, 2008 05:57 AM

So did I!!!

Posted by: James G Mathe on July 22, 2008 06:54 AM

"So, does that mean 3% of the public got more than 12 out of 12 correct?"

YUP.

Dan, didn't you see the bonus question at the end of the quiz? If you answered that correct you got extra credit.

Heck it was an easy 5-parter:

1) What's your Social security number?
2) What's your date-of-birth?
3) What's the name and address of your bank?
4) What's your bank account number?
5) What's the P.I.N. on your debit card?

I aced that somnabitch!!

Don't feel bad Claudia, I got 9:12 as well. Should've had 11:12 but brain farted two of them and absolutley had no idea of who the federal reserve chairman was.

Posted by: lumpy on July 22, 2008 08:41 AM

Missed one. Who is the chairman of the U.S. Federal Reserve Board.

It is sad the average score is 50%.

Posted by: Mike on July 22, 2008 10:35 AM

I scored in the 91st percentile,Guess I'm not a TOTAL dipshit

Posted by: SSG King on July 22, 2008 10:46 AM

I bombed on the Kosovo question too, Patrick. I think I answered it the same way. I should have known that. It was between those two. Oh well, at least I up to date on my own country's affairs. I knew all the Dimocrat questions because I know who is fucking up.

Quiz....

As far as tests go this was quite easy as anyone who takes the time to stay on top of current events should have no problem acing this one. If you watched only Fox news, you should easily get all the answers correct.

If you watched ABC,NBC,CBS,CNN,BBC or read any of the so-called major media publications.....it could be a bit dicey as truth is a casualty in their presentations. For them, the story or message is more important then the truth.

For the record....yeah ! I aced it.

Posted by: dudley1 on July 22, 2008 01:58 PM

Quiz addendum for scoring....

I scored 12 of 12 putting me with the 3% of the test takers who also scored 12 of 12. This total is higher then the 97% which represents the rest of the public taking the test. As long as more then one person aced the test , it is impossible to score higher then 100% of the rest of the people taking the test.

If this were the last question.......I can see where some weeding out would have occurred since some seem to be mystified. Must be that Liberal Socialist indoctrination where no one ever loses.

Thanks again to Fox News for being Accurate, Fair & Balanced. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!

Posted by: dudley1 on July 22, 2008 02:16 PM

12 out of 12, though I cheated slightly. (I googled to make sure HowAAAAArd Dean was still the chief wen on the head of the DNC. Hope springs eternal, y'know.)

By the way, I'm an Albertan, not an American. (If you call me Canadian, I start inching towards the shotgun. It's usually the prelude to another bogus 'patriotic' appeal to get me to pay even more outrageous taxes to support even more vote-buying boondoggles in Quebec.)

Posted by: Jay Random on July 22, 2008 02:37 PM

Aced it..too easy

I guess my photoshop of Oprah tossing Obama's salad wasn't too far off base.

Posted by: hamer on July 22, 2008 03:41 PM

Jay Random -

I don't mind saying I'm Canadian. I live in Ontario. I don't even mind saying I'm French Canadian. But, although I was born in Quebec, you'll never get me to say that I'm "une Québécoice". I've been happily out of the Province since 1957. I'm ashamed of those never-satisfied-always-yapping-"boondoggles" in Quebec. I would be glad to cut their umbilical Canadian cord with rusty scissors and let them wallop in their sovereignty shit.

The Quebec people are socially fun on a one-to-one basis but, as a group, they're politically retarded and egomaniacs.

In all fairness, let me tell you, Albertan, that the French Canadians I meet from other provinces are very mature, politically stable and undemanding.

Claudia, one of them in Toronto.

Posted by: Claudia on July 22, 2008 03:47 PM

Claudia, I agree with you completely about French Canadians. Salt of the earth. We have a good few of them in Alberta too, you know.

But when you put a few million of them together, and then equip them with a class of professional politicians and media pundits whose sole job is to remind them of their Official Victim status, and compete with one another to see who can get the most blood money out of Ottawa. . . .

'Dysfunctional' doesn't begin to describe it. There's a word that does, but I forget what it is. I think it rhymes with 'Buster Duck'.

Posted by: Jay Random on July 22, 2008 05:43 PM

wtf? i missed 3. who the hell is dow jones?

Posted by: cathy on July 22, 2008 05:52 PM

I got 'em all right.... How come I only got a 97%??

Damn, I guess it's hard to keep up with Civics when your head is full of American Idiot and Hussein bin O'muslim mush...

Posted by: FORGER on July 22, 2008 08:22 PM

Forger: You scored in the 97th percentile. That means that you scored better than 97% of the people who took it. Since you got all of them right, that means the other 3% got the same perfect score as you did. Congratulations! I missed one. I put that the number of military casualties was 3,000 rather than 4,000. The funny thing is that our 10-year-old son also got 91. But then, he listens to Rush every day. :)

Posted by: PeggyU on July 22, 2008 09:17 PM

EVERYONE THAT READS THIS SITE SCORED HIGH WE ALL GRADUATED 6TH GRADE WITH JEFFRO BODINE I RECKIN

SPANKY

Posted by: spanky on July 22, 2008 09:23 PM

It's sad that the only question women scored higher on then men was the Oprah question...and their gender supposedly had the smartest person in the running this year ;) (just kidding). It is also sad that the Oprah question is the only question that had 70% or more correct responses regardless of demographic...turn off the friggin TV sheeple!

It also says something for raising the requirements to vote to being at least 30 and college educated. I am both and I scored a perfect score, but I also am an avid talk radio listener and conservative blog reader, as well as a 'typical white person.'

Posted by: Todd on July 22, 2008 10:50 PM

Chit! I only got 7 of 12. And I consider myself "well-informed". Maybe that's relative to the people with whom I work.

Kin I blame it on the blonde factor?
{/hiding in corner}

Posted by: Mo K on July 22, 2008 11:08 PM

MoK: Blame it on being pregnant. It messes with your brain cells. It's temporary. :)

Posted by: PeggyU on July 23, 2008 01:22 AM

I flubbed two of them, but I'm big on brain farts this week.

Posted by: LisaKay on July 23, 2008 06:43 AM

Come on people. Let's put on the gloves and mix it up a little. Am I going to be the first one to point out that men scored much better than women on this test? Were our founding fathers justified in denying women the right to vote?

I know I'm going to catch hell for this one, but one of us men had to be brave enough to say something.

Posted by: Steve S. on July 23, 2008 01:15 PM

Spanky:

If knowing these elementary facts about politics makes us all hicks, hillbillies, and idiots, as you imply. . . .

What does that say about the vast numbers of people who don't even know that much? And whom, apparently, you think more highly of, since you don't trouble to insult them as you do us.

Pardon me, I'm having an Orwell flashback here:

WAR IS PEACE
FREEDOM IS SLAVERY
IGNORANCE IS STRENGTH

and now, in the New and Improved Ingsoc:

KNOWLEDGE IS STUPIDITY

Posted by: Jay Random on July 23, 2008 01:44 PM

Todd:

It also says something for raising the requirements to vote to being at least 30 and college educated.

For reasons too complicated and stupid to explain, I was prevented from pursuing a college education until I was well past 30. I'm working on it now. And while I, who do not (yet) meet your qualifications to vote, got 12 out of 12, I have professors who would take positive pride in getting most of the questions wrong.

Posted by: Jay Random on July 23, 2008 01:46 PM

12 out of 12, though I did have to guess for the Dow Jones Industrial Average question.

Posted by: thatjerryguy on July 23, 2008 02:51 PM

PeggyU - It's Bou's sister Mo (Morrigan) who's preggers, not MoK.

Posted by: Denny on July 23, 2008 03:38 PM

I apologize to MoK. I didn't know there was more than one Mo. Oh, well ... the Mo the merrier!

Steve S.: Yeah ... I wonder why that is? I missed one. But that still puts me way above the average score for women on this test. How many women have taken it, I wonder? If I had to make a guess, I would say fewer women took it than men. Therefore, the impact of one bad score on the average would be greater. And maybe most women don't follow the news as closely as most men. I don't know where the stoopids came from - honestly.

Posted by: PeggyU on July 23, 2008 03:54 PM

12 for 12.

Steve S - Here is my theory. Many of us womenfolk are the primary caregiver for our kids and take them to the doctor and dentist, for hair cuts, etc. We are hammered with waiting room propaganda and tabloids. Now, some of us take a book dor the wait and make our kids listen to talk radio on the ride, but I know many women whose primary news sources are Radio Disney and People magazine.

Women voters outnumber men by over 8 million and the gender gap slants decidedly democrat. If we can just figure out a way to weed out the dumb ones, we'd all be better off.

Posted by: JackieD on July 23, 2008 04:14 PM

"Here's Your Score: You correctly answered 12 of the 12 possible questions along with approximately 3% of the public. You did better than 97% of the general public."

Yeah, I aced it too..don't say much for the general public, huh? No wonder so many are drinking the Obama Kool Aid

Posted by: GUYK on July 23, 2008 04:26 PM

I'm sure that many women did not take the test simply because females are not as inclined as males to check their knowledge and to brag about it.

Actually the questions about sex and age were totally out of place. After all, the 10 y.o. son of PeggyU, with 91%, proves that political awareness, very often, comes with environment.

The only reason I took the test was to see if, as an older Canadian woman, I had wasted my time (8 months) in the company of all the learned scholars whose presence graces the pages of the GOC blog. I'm quite satisfied with my 9 out of 12, on American Politics. I'll give you all the credit.

I also have to give you credit for a few not-so-honourable-words which have been added to my vocabulary when visiting you. I'm not sure yet if it will enhance my intellectual sharpness as it seems to do yours. I guess I will find out only if another test is offered and my results reach your high level of proficiency.

To the pleasure of your company, gentlemen!

Posted by: Claudia on July 23, 2008 04:58 PM

LOL, SteveS! Mr. Mo has teased me, "It all went downhill when we gave women the right to vote ;-)" (ahem) stipulating that he wasn't referring to me in particular. Well, maybe it's mostly us women to blame, but I personally know more libtard men than women, actually. BTW, I'm a talk radio junkie. I blame my miserable score (partly) on being a bad test-taker. "I crumbled under the pressure!"
OK, that's lame. I guess I was just tired, because a couple of 'em that I missed were just stupid; I should have taken more time to think it over.
No apology necessary, Peggy! It made me laugh, and until I saw Denny's comment I was thinking I'd let it ride and see if I got some inquiring emails from people who know me :-)
(I'm still of child-bearing age, but we've decided not to have kids. )

Oh, and kudos to you, Claudia!!

Posted by: Mo K. on July 23, 2008 07:20 PM

claudia - good work. i know i wouldn't get 75% right on a poll about canada. that's impressive.

Mo K. as an ob/gyn, i must say that your decision not to procreate is terrible for business!

if any care, i aced it except for the one about casualties (the last time i watched liberal media must have been when we were passing the 3,000 mark since those numbers don't get much play outside of the left.)

Pip

Posted by: Pip on July 23, 2008 08:23 PM

By the way, we haven't intentionally tried to indoctrinate our kids. I'm not about to stifle my opinions or turn off the radio, though, so I am sure that's how our youngest picked it up. He's also not completely fine-tuned socially, and has a voice that projects well. Yeah, we embarrass ourselves a bit.

Posted by: PeggyU on July 23, 2008 08:43 PM

Thanx for the explanation, PeggyU. I'm a pretty brainy sumbitch, but when it comes to math, my brain says, "Path?? Let's go for a stroll..."
