Bless Laura Bush's heart. She doesn't really like public speaking but she has done a lot of it as the First Lady. She does the best she can.
I really thought that they were gonna skip Dubya's speech since it was originally scheduled for Monday night. I guess they had him speak anyway since it prolly annoyed a whole crapload of BDS sufferers.
On a side note, there seems to be a whole crapload of PDS sufferers already. I guess they're pissed that she looks a lot better than Thunder Rodent Thighs ever will. I would really like to see Palin dressed like the females at IBM used to dress before business casual. I can see her in a nice navy blue business suit. Yummy. A MILF and soon a GILF. Here's what McCain was thinking.
Ol' Fred Thompson made a pretty good speech last night, but he seemed to have a little problem as the microphone picked up little "ahems" that were annoying.
Yannow, I've always liked Joe Lieberman. He used to be on Imus all of the time when Imus's show was still in Atlanta and I would listen on my way to work. He's a bloody liberal, but he has it right on the GWOT. Maybe it's because he's Jewish. The thing about Lieberman is he always reminds me of Snagglepuss. I keep expecting to hear him say, "Exit, stage left." Lieberman gave an OK speech, but he doesn't hold a candle to the one that Zell Miller gave at the last convention. I really liked it later when he wanted to challenge Chris Matthews to a duel. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Tonight it's Palin's speech. I wonder if she'll look like a sexy librarian?
When Joe Lieberman was running with Algore in 2000 my wife named him Elmer Fudd. That has always stuck with me.

Posted by: Sandy G on September 3, 2008 06:59 PMRant follows:
On the one hand we have a pretentious orator who’s never accomplished a damned thing in his life, a devoted Marxist with strong ties to Africa, married to an embittered anti-white, anti-establishment woman who feels uncomfortable in her own skin . . . yoked to a self-confessed plagiarizing socialist who is uncomfortable near women with positional authority or seniority equal to or greater than his own and a habitually snide, smarmy attitude toward anyone whose ideas differ from his own.
On the other hand we have a worn-out RINO with questionable leadership experience whose policies, except for taxes and the US role in Iraq specifically and the Middle East in general, perfectly parallel those of the Clinton machine who decided to go with a rookie governor with virtually no hands-on experience in legislative or judicial matters and very little knowledge of foreign policy, immigration, international business, or national politics.
The left is inextricably mired in a deep rut formed by decades of knee-jerk partisanship and rigid inflexibility, rendering them totally unresponsive to basic economics, common sense, and the lessons of history. The right has a faulty compass and a balky rudder and continues to bullheadedly fire its main battery at its own foot, choosing to embrace rhetoric and stubbornness in place of principle and commitment.
Virtually no major-level politician in this nation seems to understand that it’s not about THEM, it’s about US. They’re interested only in winning an election, not solving a problem. Their primary focus is not on what’s right, but what’s politically expedient, which translates to keeping the other party out of power. They seem fatally contaminated with the modern mutation of the conquistador virus – for the conquistadores, it was gold, glory, and gospel; for these guys it’s power, publicity, and personal legacy.
And I strongly believe that anyone publishing scurrilous innuendo and rumor about candidates’ families or personal lives in major media should be placed in a pillory and caned three times a day until white crows are seen flying over the rotting corpses of Michael Moore and Keith Olbermann.
O.K. End rant. You may now return to your Palinolatry, previously in progress. (Oh, and yes, I'm gonna vote for her.)
She's already a HILF, a MILF and a GILF! She'll soon be a VPILF, ya know?

Posted by: Mo K. on September 3, 2008 08:34 PMIt was a very good night. I truly admired the three VIP Republican ladies. Goodlooking, gracious, not shunning the limelight, but not trying to steal it for a further agenda. I liked the emphasis given to Old Soldiers. We never thank them enough. I yelled with the people USA USA USA, and I added CANADA, CANADA for my own family Veterans.
Denny, that video is a riot. Not for the religious right. You're bad! He did, didn't he, looked her up and down...

I was gonna bring up the same but you beat me to the trigger, dammit! I wonder how much TDHO is going to have to say in her PDS with this classy, kickass, smart woman called Palin who is proud of her son's service...
10 bucks says TDHO is still sucking her thumb!
11.30 PM....I'm so proud for all of you. I clapped and I cried, and I clapped and I cried. What a woman! What a candidate! God bless America!
Posted by: Claudia on September 3, 2008 11:29 PMShame on Pailin for accepting the VP when she already knew that her 17 yr old daughter was pregnant. She threw this young girl into the limelight. What are the libturds gonna do without constant posts about Palin too dumb to speak? Sorry turds, you lost on this one. The typical TDHO's have nothing except this liberal retort:
She needs to be there for her daughter.
and this...
Shame on Pailin for accepting the VP when she already knew that her 17 yr old daughter was pregnant.

If I hear that gott damn "Commander In Chief" line again as if it it means I am being commanded, I think I'll destroy something! It's Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces ......-ONLY!
And that oft-repeated line about "If elected, I swear to defend the people and property of the United States of America!" It's serve and protect the Constitution!
Another 'psuedo-fact' is that McSame was unique in refusing to accept early-release from the Hanoi Hilton; every single POW was offered the same deal if they would sign papers. McCain was told by the likes of Alvarez and Day and many more who where there way before he was that he would sign no such papers.
While I appreciate the Librarian, she told some bald-faced lies tonight! Not the least of which were her comments on ear-marks and the 'Bridge To Nowhere.'
I was only home from work in time to catch Rudy G. and Madame Palin; I heard her say we are winning in Iraq as a result of the "McCain surge"; that's pretty damn bold and she had better hope Muqtada doesn't 'release the troops.'
Lastly, I noticed not one word, -not one single word about the Economy (other than to say the 'opposition' wants to raise taxes on each and every American Citizen).
The way I see it, Y'all had one hell of a run for the last 8 years; now that the bills come due, seems like the tab is to be pushed far into the future. With no tips for the wait-staff.
These folks speaking over the last few days scare me tremendously with their certainty that everything will be as they say it will be.
Am I afraid that we might be obliterated by the 'other' before we can obliterate them? Nawww.
Am I afraid we are blundering our way to Made-in-America global catastrophe? Well, after hearing the chilling 'CERTAINTY' of the last two weeks? Yea.
And this: why isn't the party of Law & Order not pursuing Alaska State statutory rape charges against Levi the Father? It's a felony there just as sure as it was a felony here in Jawja when Gennarlow Wilson was the defendant!

Okay TDHO, so now it's not about your son's life as much as it is about the millions being spent? Make up your fucking mind already! Pick a side. Choose a stance! No, I don't know what it's like to be a mother with a son fighting the WOT. I never will, but you keep changing your position everytime you libturds are up against the ropes.
I appreciate your son's service and his sacrifice. Believe it or not, I appreciate your sacrifice as a mother of a warrior on the battle field, but pick a fucking position already, and don't think you're the only one who has family and friends in the sandbox.
If you do, you're sadly mistaken TDHO.
Your typical liberal cheap-shop at Palin shows where you really stand on the whole scheme of things.
GOD Bless your son and the men he fights with!
Tonight it's Palin's speech. I wonder if she'll look like a sexy librarian?
And it's the MSM and the Libtards who inject sexism into this?

Posted by: Lee on September 4, 2008 01:28 AMShe needs to be there for her daughter.
I actually agree with you somewhat, TDHO. She needs to be there for her daughter. But does she need to be there 24/7? In a lot of ways, from the standpoint of being able to provide financially for her family, Sarah Palin is doing well. We tend to look at people in light of our own experiences and our own circumstances. You look at Sarah Palin and see a woman whose day will be eaten up by meetings and obligations. True. But ... she also has a support system and resources that few of us have access to. I am pretty sure she has been relieved of the housework, cooking, yard work, etc. ... the daily grind that most of us must all shoulder. This frees up some time for a personal life.
A good friend of mine and I had a lengthy discussion about this last night. Why? Because we both have daughters and neither of us could see ourselves, were we in Sarah Palin's position, pursuing a promotion if it would come at the expense of the well being of any of our children. I don't think Sarah Palin is a bad mother. And I think it is easy to make damning assumptions about people you don't know when you don't have all of the information you need. I don't know these people personally, do you? I don't know what their relationship is with their children. If I had to make a guess, based on the words spoken by Sarah Palin, I would say that they believe their eldest daughter has chosen to assume the responsibilities of adulthood, and so they are treating her as an adult. If that is the case, it is quite possible that they had a family discussion about this and the daughter's opinion was weighed into the decision to accept the position. For all we know, Sarah Palin may be doing this with her daughter's blessing. They have had five months to adjust to the daughter's situation, but for us it is fresh news. And in spite of the accusations of Palin not being properly vetted, I recall seeing her name on potential VP lists for quite some time now ... and I have a good memory, thanks!
DanS to Claudia: "...Have I somehow eluded your intellect?"
Yes! You often elude my intellect. You speak such nonsense sometimes that I can't rationalize your thinking.
I always forgive you because you're a veteran. I clapped hands with the Republicans at the Convention, and chanted USA, for Old Soldiers. I thought of you.
Posted by: Claudia on September 4, 2008 02:04 AMTeresa-The Dumb One-
I implore you to scroll up and really read the words from PeggyU and CharlieDelta. Go ahead, I'll wait...now let those words sink in, hear them now and listen to them later.
Now it's my turn to have at you, first off let me start by saying go fuck yourself with that rock that you keep crawling out from underneath and/or bash yourself over the head with it for good measure. It's okay, again I'll wait, after all Danesse is being censored right about now...
Okay, we all back now? Here's the thing, I don't believe you! I don't even believe that you have a kid who went to Iraq. I think that you have a lay about unemployed butt head kid who lives on his nintendo and myspace. Why do I come to this conclusion? Because you blatently exploited said soldier kid who maybe bumped his head to further your silly ideology and BDS. I sent you emails from one military mom in support of you and your family, and you responded to me by calling me a bitter bitch and spewed some hate crap about Laura Ingram.
Item #2-
Again you are living proof that the womyns libbers/feminazis don't speak for all women, only liberals. You are sexist in the worst way. Why does Governor Palin need to 'be there' for her pregnant 17 yr old daughter? Should she quit her job and hold baby girls hand? You honestly don't think that everyone in their small town and big state wasn't already aware of the fact that she was preggers? Dah? You really think that my parents would have rolled over and died when I got pregnant at the age of 17? Nope, and I'm glad that they didn't. They expected me to deal with my situation in an adult like fashion whilst being there to prop me up by saying that they were proud of me for taking responsibility for my actions. I was 17, I wouldn't reccomend it, but I did a great job in raising my son. I have something on my side that you don't. Plain old fashioned common sense. My son is a beautiful wonderful young man with heart and integrity. He spent 3 years on a subermarine in defense of his country and your dumb ass. Now he is training with SpecWar and will become a Navy Diver-I'm bragging about his service and his tenacity, not exploiting it. I'm proud of him, I support him. I support the Mission. You've heard me say this before, and I'll say it again, you don't support the Mission and you DO NOT support the Troops.
Vote for Obama and he will cut hundreds of billions from the Military, that should make you happy? A loss of jobs right from the get go, not to mention a loss of testosterone as a country. With Obama, you and Mrs Danesse will have all of your wishes granted...be careful what you wish for and be sure to thank us GOCers for voting for McPalin. I'd hate to think of you standing out in the cold waiting in a bread line, or sitting for hours in your car waiting for gas that never comes. Put on another sweater and fill your tires to extra extra capacity k? Good luck with that.
TDHO......
Concerning what Lisakay posted to you.......ME TO!
She did fine telling you to shove it where the sun don`t shine, I `ll save any other commentary to further outburst`s of liberal ignorance.
DanS ....I am still waiting!!!!!
Posted by: Dudley1 on September 4, 2008 08:44 AMAt least Palin did not kill her family in a drunken stupor like Biden did. Do all Democrats have to kill a loved one with a vehicle to reach the higher echelons of the party?
Posted by: vetfromhell on September 4, 2008 08:59 AMShe needs to be there for her daughter.
The daughter made an adult decision and will be/should be forced into an adult life style. Plain and simple. Palin has other children to raise. She can still "be there" and have a career you know. I would say that to not continue to work in the capacity that she is capable of doing so, would be letting her daughter down, not the other way around.
His wife was driving, whoops.
Posted by: vetfromhell on September 4, 2008 09:17 AMI'd have held my nose and voted for McCain. Now I'll happily support the ticket.
Sure am glad to see the outpouring of support and enthusiasm. And I salute TDHO and her son for his service and her anxiety.
But, my special thanks to LisaKay and her son. He's made a difficult career choice, goin' into SpecWar, but at least he's no longer a bubblehead, and I know his Mom has the strength to survive thinking about all her "baby boy" is gonna face.
Thanks, too, to any readers who're serving.

DanS.......
Couple of points pal......
1.Other then you, I do not know of or think anyone is offended of the term "Commander in Chief" Rational people know what it mean`s.
2.As to the difference between Defend & Protect or Serve & Protect.....when one enters the military & serves ,it is understood serving means to defend if neccessary. The distinction you reference is meaningless.
3. Your liberal envy is shining brightly as is your infantile fear when the Republican`s win the White House, note I said when not if.
4. The latest economic numbers show an expanding economy with the number of people working still higher then when Clinton was POTUS with a corresponding lower unemployment rate. This is a pseudo-issue as the indicators are better now then under Clinton but he was a success & now the media proclaims a recession...another pseudo-issue.
4.Let`s be honest ,you as well as most liberals are scared to death for the prospect of a McCain /Palin Presidency because it will destroy the likelihood of a Democrat getting there in 8-12 year`s but the country will be better off if this happen`s.
5. Given the current climate with regard to Muslim Fundamentalist Terrorism & the resurgent Russian belligerence .....there is no doubt what so ever we can afford Obama/Biden to be in the White House working in harmony with the Democratic Senate /House to dismantle our Constitution , The Bill of Rights & our military in an attempt to create a socialist paradise.
Sarah Palin is a formidable opponent to face. In all the possible scenarios that have been mentioned in the past few days, the one I enjoy the best was posted by Denny. In 4 years, Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton in a fight for the presidency. I hope I'm still around to witness it.
I don't know about all of you, but I'm infinitely tired of the nonsense spouted by DanS and TDHO. They just appear at the GOC when it's obvious that the Democrats are on a downslide. There is no logic in any of their comments. I admire the patient readers who try to educate them. In a way, it's good for me. Being an outsider could be an handicap as I lack on-the-spot USA experience. Your answers to them solidify my respect for true Americanism, and my hope that it will survive.
Posted by: Claudia on September 4, 2008 12:10 PMClaudia........
Do not let yourself tire for the ranting`s of DanS & TDHO......It is comic relief & allow`s us to bash them when they post something nuts. Actually DanS is pretty much OK except when he wander`s off the reservation, as for TDHO well, stupid is as stupid does.
Posted by: dudley1 on September 4, 2008 12:50 PMDanS - But it's OK for the Dims to use the term Commander in Chief right? I didn't hear you bitch about it then. You're reaching Danno.
Posted by: Denny on September 4, 2008 02:02 PMI've bitched about the misuse of "C-in-C" for YEARS!!! Does not matter who says it! It is starting to take on overtones of Commander of Everything.
Claudia, please don't start a flame war with me? You won't want it and I don't need it. I only sound illogical when one of us is drinking and the other one isn't. I haven't had a drink in weeks now.
Dud, your Point #2 above is not apropos to my comment. When a Prez Elect puts a hand on the Bible and swears to .... well, what does he/she swear to defend? See?
Point#3: 'liberal envy'? What the hell is that?
Point#4: you totally missed it on this one. I said they didn't mention the economy (and they didn't!). They didn't say it us up/down, good/bad or anything else.
You have two Point#4's. What are we supposed to be scared of? liberal envy?
Your Point#5: Better reread & rewrite what you say there. You are advocating what you are against!
Did I mention that the current Gov. of Alaska is a bald-faced liar?
Posted by: DanS. on September 4, 2008 05:57 PMDanS......
Yep! There is indeed two # 4`s, my error & there is a word missing in point #5...please inset "not" between can & afford.
Now that we have that out of the way & you are reading the posts......go back & read my past post answering your request for an answer which you have neglected to respond to , only about a week back when you disappeared for a few days.
Bald faced liar?? Well she does not shave ,what do you expect? If as you post Bald Face liars upset you ....how can you overlook the whoppers Obama has stated which are repeated as gospel truth by the liberal left propaganda ministries of the mainstream media?
Posted by: dudley1 on September 5, 2008 10:53 AMHow sad all this is. "Commander in Chief" is starting to act like "Commander of Everything". But then, does the GOP push for larger government? Oh ya, everyone does. Well, I guess if the government is in everything, you need to have a Commander of Everything to run the show!?
Then there is the comment "Shame on Pailin for accepting the VP when she already knew that her 17 yr old daughter was pregnant." What type of crap is that? Isn't it the feminists that push so hard for "equal opportunity"? Yet, once the female is prego, then no more business life - time to get back to bare foot in the kitchen or something? You damn liberals are just mad that she is doing what you all keep telling us we need to do.
And the whole comment on "I said they didn't mention the economy". Ah, I forgot that liberals need to hear long speeches over non-issues.
Never mind on that I guess :)
If you guys want real reform, maybe start reforming yourselves. Instead of just regurgetating the same crap over and over.
Ah, I had to re-read many of these posts. I missed this one "It's Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces ......-ONLY!" Not like the typical liberal to say that the C-I-C is only in charge of the armed forces? Are they not the same ones that are pushing for "National Healthcare" and other Big Government ideas?
What else is there ??? Guess I got nothing else. Best of luck to you libbies. The whole socialist party needs it.

The Economy is a 'non-issue'? I have had the Privilege of paying in, by virtue of payroll-deduction, Real Money in excess of $7K, on an annual basis for the Grand Ability of having a NEGATIVE Annual Rate of Return of 8.7%!!!
You want to now tell me now that somehow 'Bush-O-Nomic's' is somehow good for ME?
Lest I get lectured, All that Dough is now transferred & invested in CD's, BOND's, Ave Maria Fund (and a few other) and is returning a very-pleasant composite yield of 12.2%
Lest you think I'm an idiot, I understand that every dollar invested by me makes an additional 12-cents. Now factor in a 'basis' of $1.4M and you can see why I don't need to drink.
But I just started doing exactly that (drinking) because I could not face you otherwise.
Imagine that!
Did I mention, that aside from the five gaping-holes in my wounded body, I have been assigned the various diagnosis of PTSD, OCD, Bi-Polar & even schizophrenic?
All that for getting shelled 24/7 at a place called Con Thien in SVN!
In case you can't decode that, it means artillery & mortar shells rained down on our heads around the clock for days on end. Months and more.
And then we got transferred South to Dodge City, Go Noi Island, LZ Baldy and futher far-south close even to An Hoa and Liberty Bridge.
The common-denominator? Booby-traps; EVERYWHERE! Every fucking thing we touched 'might' be a booby-trap! And regardless of what 'might have been', I was calling in, on average, 3 MedEvac helicopters every single day.
I got hurt, I got shrapnel in my back, legs, arms and left-elbow; I didn't claim my Purple Heart(s) because I was calling in MedEvac choppers for the TRULY-Fucked!
I am simply ASTOUNDED at how little-regard you give to the REASONS I post as I do.
A simple "Thank You For Your Service!" will do, eh?
Let there be no mistake nor mis-understanding:
I WANT NOTHING FROM ANY OF YOU!
What I want is what I get:
Honesty from you, honesty for me. No blame, no care, no condescension.

Also loudmouthed, ignorant, attention-desperate, and a general clown.
But they didn't tell you that- just noted it on your file.
I've known veterans of every conflict from the Great Ardennes Clusterfuck to Baghdad a year ago, and NONE of them would DREAM of using their service record to excuse crappy behavior like yours. They'd view it as a thing of shame if anyone thought they were doing so.

You responded to that question`s answer here? Where? When? I do not think so.....You posted the question to me Aug 27, 2008 at 10:37 PM on the Dimocrat Convention Day #2 Thread. I responded with an answer to you on Aug 28, 2008 at 12:17 PM
on the same thread.
Now take the time to look it up, you asked the question, you said you wanted to know & I responded ....now quit playing your memory fades game & look it up , then dignify your request with an acknowlegement of my response. As to whether what I answered is that which you wanted to hear is not at all important but the fact I responded to you as you requested is..... an acknowlegement is the civil & polite thing to do.

Hey, Teresa, I'm kinda late to the party (The Outer Banks was wonderful), but I'll just say this. My daughter is 29; her oldest son is 12. You do the math.
I didn't quit my job, I helped her accept the roles of motherhood and responsibility that she took on; she lives by herself, supports herself and her children, and makes me proud.
