Four years ago when I did my comvention posts, I took notes. This time I didn't. I wanted to write about what stuck in my memory.
Lindsey Graham: Boz0bama bad. McRINO good. The surge worked. The Obamessiah won't admit it.
Jug Hussein Ears on O'Reilly actually admitted that the surge was a success. Fortunately for him, the rat bastard commies who make up his base won't watch Fox so they won't know he said it.
If a rat bastard commie says anything on Fox will a rat bastard commie hear it?
Speaking of Jug Hussein Ears being on O'Reilly, how did they get both of those massive egos into the same room. I'm thinking crowbars and KY Jelly was involved in the process.
They played the Sarah Palin video that they were supposed to play Wednesday night before her speech, but didn't because of time constraints.
Tom Ridge: I am so glad that McRINO didn't pick this dude. He tried to galvanize the crowd but he doesn't have it in him. He tried his own version of the "yes we can" BS that JHE uses. It was so succesful that I can't even remember what it was. Even so, he did get the crowd chanting. Tom, once you have finally managed to rev up the crowd, now is the time to finish your speech. Go out on a high note. Don't dull it down. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz!
Cindy McRINO is one classy lady. That was a fantastic video of her life. She has given so much of herself. Contrast that to the Clintons who have taken so much from others. Like I've said before, people like the Clintons are generous with other people's money (while making big bucks along the way) Republicans like Cindy McRINO are generous with their own money (and their time). What a classy lady! John McRINO is a very lucky man!
Let's see. Cindy McCain owns multiple houses. So do Flipper and his wife. So does Pope Albert I of the Church of AGW. So do the Clintons. Contrast Cindy McCain with Mrs. Flipper or Thunder Rodent Thighs. I would bet that the McRINOs, the Bushes, and the Cheneys give a larger percentage of their income to charity than the JHE's, the Flippers, the Clintons, or the Pope's family.
Class versus crass.
Cindy McCain is not a good speaker. Even so, she radiated class and a deep love for her husband and her children. And unlike Mrs. JHE, she has always loved and been proud of her country. And unlike BJ who was mouthing, "I Love you", when TRT was speaking, you know that she meant it. Her love for her husband and family is obvious.
John McCain is not known for oratory. What I did notice, was that he used his notes a lot more than the TelePrompTer. I have since heard that during Sarah Palin's speech the TelePrompTer wouldn't quit scrolling so she had to use her notes and like Giuliani, who had the same problem during his speech, she had to depart from the text a few times and to throw in a few ad libs. Her speech was easily the best of the convention.
The TelePrompTer forces one to look to the right and to the left and makes you speak to the entire crowd. McRINO did that, but he spent most of his speech looking right into the camera. He wasn't speaking so much to the convention as he was speaking to the American people.
For McRINO, it was a good speech, but it was too long. (Too many words McRINO, too many words ... obscure Amadeus reference) You want to tell the people who you are and what you want to do. You don't want to bore them. His speech was longer than JHE's.
He did stay on the high road in regard to JHE who spent one third of his speech attacking McRINO. JHE didn't realize that that is the VP's and the other speakers' jobs. McRINO talked about how his plans were different than JHE without attacking him.
So at this convention a new star was born. Sarah Palin easily gave the best speech of the convention. Now we'll see how she does the next few months.
Remember, one speech does not herald success.
Remember Mario Cuomo? He was gonna be the next superstar after a speech he delivered at a Dimocrat convention. We saw how that worked out.
Remember Ann Richards? She said of Bush 41, "Poor George. He cain't hep it. He was born with a silver foot in his mouth." A new star was born.
Bush 41 got the last laugh when Ann Richards misunderestimated his son who defeated her and became governor of Texas. Bush 43's opponents have consistently misunderestimated him and he was able to defeat the Pope and Flipper. Or maybe he stole the elections. Pretty good for a moron. That sure says a lot about the intelligent people who have opposed him.
As Mark Stein once said: "If Bush is so dumb how dumb do you have to be to be constantly outwitted by him?"
Bush was smart enough to stay away from this convention.
(Getting ready for BDS diatribes from TDHO and DanS in 10, 9, 8 ...)
Let the games begin!

Posted by: vetfromhell on September 5, 2008 08:20 PMI'm incredibly sad that President Bush, who served his party for a number of years, and protected his country from another terrorist attack, wasn't at the Convention, for at least ten minutes, to receive the ovation and the thanks he rightly deserves. Ungrateful bunch! I would like to know who made this disgraceful decision. The two-minute-mention of Senator McCain wasn't enough to acknowledge the sacrifice of the Bush family in the last 8 years.
No wonder brilliant and Rhino-Enough gentlemen will not apply for the job. The Party loves only its popular Presidents. The others? They get stabbed in the back...like President Nixon was years ago, and President Bush is at the moment.
Senator McCain is suddenly very much praised for having chosen the successful, talented, beautiful young Alaska Governor. My first impression is also very good.
But I would like to say that McCain was already a good, solid man before Governor Palin appeared on the scene. He was a hero before. I would have trusted him with my life before. He and his wife formed a classy couple before. Yet, people talked about voting for him with their "noses pinched"... like he had a bad odor.
For the sake of your country, my country, and the world, I hope he wins the election. I'm not sure that the Republican Party deserves it. I also pray that the Party is not going to push him aside in 4 years, if he is still standing up, as strong and as determined to protect his country, and improve people's life, as he did last night.
Hip! Hip! Hip! Hurrah! for McCain. He always had my respect and my admiration.
To your good health!

Posted by: Sandy G on September 5, 2008 08:23 PMMy biggest beef with Pres. Bush is the fact that his veto pen was lost in the basement for his first 6 years in the White House. However, Claudia is right. He should get the respect he deserves. His policies have kept the turmoil that most of the world sees daily in other places around the world. There are a couple of exceptions (immigration and oil).
McCain has experienced lack of freedom on a level that most have not (nor can even comprehend), thus his love of his country stems from a different source. He has served according to his convictions and beliefs. Yes there are things about McCain that I wish were different. I voice my opinion about his opinion and disagree at times, agree at others. Regardless, I respect him and admire his courage in the face of adversity. And now, with a fine VP choice in Palin, I will gladly vote for him. He just needs to understand that he must toe the line or people like you and me will call him to task for it.
Posted by: John C on September 5, 2008 10:16 PMDid any of you get the same chuckle I did when McCain was finishing his comment about " ...teach an illiterate man how to read ..." and then the camera cut away to the man on the floor holding up the 'Mavrick' sign?
Posted by: DanS. on September 6, 2008 12:01 AMI thought that Obama did very well when he faced O'Reilly. He had all his facts straight even though he was interupted so many times by the jerk. Palin needs to give an interview to someone. Anyone. Why won't she? Obama faced the devil himself and Palin refuses to talk.
Posted by: Teresa on September 6, 2008 12:09 AMWake up teresa. Jugears has been in the campaign for, well ever since he was elected to, and ignored his job in, congress. Sarah Palin has been in the campaign about 'one week'. What have you ever done for your fellow man in your lifetime? Sucking the welfare tet doesn't count as doing anything.
Posted by: Scrapiron on September 6, 2008 01:35 AMwho is your son voting for theresa tdho? And what was the one good thing you have done for this country? Me and Adlai were waiting...
Teresa the idiot, why is the VP candidate being held to the same standards as the Presidential candidate. I find it absolutely hysterical and also scarey that the Republicans VP candidate actually has more experience, qualifications and knowledge of the roots of America than the libs/socialists/dims Presidential candidate. As a matter of fact, as much as I despise the man, Biden has a lot more qualifications for the position Obama is hoping to get. When, in past elections has the VP candidate been so closely compared to the other parties Presidential candidate? Teresa the moron, no need to answer. We all know it.
TDHO (aka the Nebraska Nitwit) - O'Reilly has been trying to get Jug Hussein Ears on his program for over a year. Got that? A year! Palin has been the VP nominee for one week! Got that? One week! During that week, she has done three days of campaigning and the Republican Convention. Do you know how much prep time goes into a major speech? Do you think JHE just magically appears and does one of his speeches? Have you ever spoken in public to a large crowd? I have. His prep time for his acceptance speech was prolly as long as hers was for her speech, which even the liberal pundits admit was a very good speech. When has she had time to give an interview? I'll be willing to bet that within three weeks she will have done all of the Sunday talk shows.
Why oh why do you insist on displaying your abject stupidity for all to see? I mean that in a nice way, of course.
Posted by: Denny on September 6, 2008 12:03 PMThe one thing I have respected the most in President Bush is that he NEVER complains of the way he has been treated/covered by the media...that is TRUE CLASS...and if all that he has done that has had a positive effect on our lives were to be reported, then maybe the Teresa's of this world would,,, no she would still suffer from BDS.......
Posted by: ty guy on September 7, 2008 08:34 AMI would like to spit on David Letterman's face for his idiotic laughter at some of President Bush malapropisms. I'm convinced that, in the last 2-3 years, President Bush did many deliberately. I saw the twinkle in his eyes, that little corner smile he has, and the shrug of his shoulders. A bit like saying: "This is for you, uneducated peasants. You're lucky I don't use the guillotine!" I wish he had! I would have done the job happily for him.
President Bush and his wife are dignified and strong people. They kept USA safe. The terrorists knew that there would be an immediate response to anything they would try to do. I'm very apprehensive about what will happen when President Bush leaves. Iran is just waiting for this...
