Denny, I reached the same conclusion watching the video of this gaffe. He stumbled into it and the crowd ran with it. He should have slapped back the crowd right then. He knew where they took it. He screwed up not correcting it right away.

While I agree that the McRINO campaign has put him on defense with this, I hate to see them get offended on purpose. That is a Liberal tactic, usually used by "people of color" when an opponent makes a perfectly innocent comment. e.g. you people or black hole.

You know, I can't find a complete clip of Hussein's comments, but I believe that after the lipstick bit he said something about wrapping an "old" fish in newspaper... instead of wrapping a "dead" fish.. That would be a snarky about McCain's age..

So yes. I think he did it on purpose and when it backfired he was, as you note, to dumb and full of himself to just apologize..

Why not adopt the Dickie Durbin-style apology: "If you think you look like a pig and are offended, then I apologize." There, that settles it, doesn't it?

The democraps have spent many election cycles honing their silly "speech rules." It's fitting that they be caught in a trap of their making. Had McCain ever uttered something along the lines of "calling a spade a spade," or "pot calling the kettle black," does anyone think the Obama camp would just sit there and shrug "that's politics"?

My first impression was this was just a gaffe not intentional but........after watching the clip & listening again carefully to what he said & observing his body language, it was indeed intentional in my estimation.

I have watched since Bush was first elected, the parade of Democratic Politicians, liberal media sympathizers & Hollywood airheads rain smear after smear, lie after lie , accusation after accusation onto Bush & various other Republican luminaries. This tirade has gone on for almost eight years without challenge & I think the Democrats have finally come to the end of their rope & hung themselves.

This has become the mantra of the Democrat`s to just heap this garbage with impunity leaving a dis-heartened Conservative Republican Base asking, pleading for the Party to react. Now they have come up against someone who say`s no way, no more , we will play your game & hit back with both barrel`s, we will take the game to a higher level & you will not get away with the lies, Bulls--t & arrogance that has been the case for the last eight years.

This is a new day for Barack, he must now operate with the realization a Republican Conservative swell has began & spilled over into his own party & claiming some support from people traditionally in the Democratic column,.......women,conservative Democrats & for the first time I can recall the support of the independant vote. I do not think he has the expertise to deal with this developement & I do not think the Clintons will offer anything more the token lukewarm support. Payback`s are a bitch.

Denny,, you are right , purposeful or not Obama could have defused the situation but his arrogance prevented the more rational choice. The damage is done,as long as McCain maintain`s the high ground & answer`s any of the liberal lefts usual BS with calm determination....this election is over.McCain/Palin will win going away.

The liberal media will perform their usual missionary work to spread the liberal agenda, but watch the crowd`s surrounding the candidates, McCain/Palin are drawing thousands while Obama/Biden are drawing hundred`s...do the math.

I spent a fair amount of time reading the news sites today and the follow up comments . It was striking how similar the lib rants were today and the shear volume of rants made me look closer. On at least a dozen sites the same user names kept popping up with what were cut and paste remarks . I just wonder how many libs are on the Obama or DNC payroll for the sole purpose of sliming Palin. The ratio of lib to normal peoples comments seems to be running pretty high for some reason .

denny - being self deprecating and owning your mistakes is a life lesson. I've made sure my kids learned it. In our country we love to anoint and once hubris rears its head, we love to tear down.

For me, however, it almost becomes irrelevant whether he intended insult. If he did, it reveals once more how shallow and self centered is his character.

If, instead, after much media coverage of Sarah Palin's funny ad lib, he was so completely unaware of his comment's potential for misinterpretation; how effective might he be conducting international negotiations unilaterally and without pre-conditions?

Everybody seems to have missed it, but when the Community Organizer made his fish comment, I thought I heard him compare wrapping that stinky fish in a newspaper of "change". But since it has been the Community Organizer himself who has insisted on wearing the mantle of "change", it would seem that he was actually scoring an "own goal" with that one. This Community Organizer can't even put his foot in his mouth without kicking himself in the teeth in the process.

Obama Confession....

Well ,the big O admitted the lipstick comment was intentional.........but it was meant for McCain not Palin.Yeah,right! As I earlier posted, It was intentional & it was intended for Palin not McCain.

Denny was right , he could easily have smoothed this over with a vague apology of mistaken intent, but the time frame for that is past. This latest admission only documents the arrogance of Obama to think we would swallow the latest excuse any more then the first ones.

The polls are beginning to show an increase for the margin of McCain`s lead. The panic stricken Democrats will respond by ramping up their personal attack`s thereby increasing McCain`s lead even more.

Last night some Democratic talking head stated categorically no Democratic hit squad was in Alaska attempting to dig up dirt on Sarah Palin...........He did admit there could be some independent concerned groups or individuals who might be engaged doing this. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Do you believe the audacity of this dipshit to deny then admit maybe, but it is somebody else not us.

It is true that the political catch-phrase of "lipstick on a pig" has been around for a while. But I'm surprised that Ubama would use the word "pig," as the idea of anything porcine is anathema to Muslims, and I'm sure he would not want to offend any of that voting base.

Then again, perhaps that was his idea of a double-entendre - and a good one it was, too. By innuendo, he mentioned her AND called her a pig.

It may be telling that in referring to a woman as a pig, he may be revealing his childhood Muslim beliefs in the "superiority" of men and "inferiority" of women. This is a code, indeed - for the ignorant and unenlightened (notice: I did not say stupid) Muslims.

He didn't stumble into it. The statement was the completion of a planned insult which stated with a Graphic "Obama on Palin' being flashed seconds before the statement. The crowd knew and the crowd roared. Hussein O can't deny the setup and he can no longer deny his 'Muslem faith' since he admitted it on National TV. Scrapiron, I'm on your side but not sure if I can agree with that assessment. I heard an audio of how that played out and I think he was just not saying he was Muslim, but referring to how people say he is of the Muslim faith. I gave him a pass on this one, though still not sure his previous dabblings with the cult bodes well for his future prospects as President.

I've gotta say, every time I hear "lipstick on a pig" my mind goes to a very odd place in my memory banks involving chapstick and a cow. It makes me laugh :)

PeggyU...How about lipstick , a giraffe & a mouse....It seem`s a mouse was at a T&A bar trying to make time with the ladies when he noticed a young vivacious Giraffe putting on some rather hot looking lipstick, he walked over,climbed up on the bar, introduced himself & proceeded with his best pickup lines.

As thing`s sometimes workout, he left the bar with her & was not seen for about three weeks.One night he showed up rather disheveled & obviously quite done in, his friends asked him where had he been, what happened to him & how did he make out with the Lady Giraffe?

He said the lip stick was what caused all the trouble as it was loaded with some kind of aphrodisiac. When he got to her apartment it was a constant round of Kiss & Screw, Kiss & Screw, Kiss & Screw.....with his little leg`s & her long neck it just about killed him first running then walking back & forth from one end to the other.
