Daily Dudley Observation`s....

When my Father was in his declining years & living with me,it came time when he had to have some serious surgery.The hospital staff advised me due to his advanced age & record of mini-strokes it was likely during the recovery period after surgery a period of delusion & confusion was probable. They indicated this could be a violent reaction.

To make a long story short , it was true .....Dad went thru a 48 hour period of virtual insanity of abject terror , non-recognition of any family members, ranting/raving & mandatory restraints to prevent injury to either himself or hospital staff. Fortunately this passed & Dad recovered to spend the last years of his life comfortably living with me.This experience was of course very disturbing, frightening actually for we family members, but it demonstrated just how stark reality can be.

Why then this tale? Reading the ranting`s of DanS, it strikes me just how familiar I am with his hysterical flight`s from reality as I have seen them before, albeit those were of a legitimate medical reaction. It sadden`s me that a fellow as articulate as he who has served his country allow`s himself the self delusionment which puts him so far outside of reality.

I do not know what set him off this time but I hope he can get some form of help to be able to cope in the future. My father was able to collect himself & recover , I sincerely hope DanS can also.

Nice point by point refutation, I had considered doing something similar but was distressed at the prospect of beating up on DanS while he obviously has some side issues to deal with.

One point I will comment on is the enlightened Liberal Supreme Court minority has attempted to rationalize their decisions or vote`s citing international law which is specifically outside of the constraints placed on the Court by the Constitution. This is dangerous territory for our appointed Constitutional guardians to venture into.Does the statement "Fool`s rush in where Angels fear to tread" fit all to perfectly?
