I'm off to Helen Georgia for the annual Blogtoberfest, or as we laughingly call it, The Southeastern Writers' Conference. This one seems to have crept up under the radar and awful fast so I don't know how many of the usual suspects will be there. Some of the founding members of the Blowneyed Blodgers aren't even blodging anymore.
Anyhoo, I'll be at the Chalet Kristi in Helen drinking Shiner and maybe playing some guitar.
No internet connection so I'll not be posting until Sunday night. Behave yourselves while I'm gone.
Posted by denny at October 10, 2008 12:01 PMHave a Good 'Un, Denny !
Posted by: Sandy G on October 10, 2008 12:47 PMWhat, no boobage tomorrow??? I want my money back.
Posted by: spongerob on October 10, 2008 12:49 PMHave fun say hello to everybody and drink lots of Shiner. We all gotta do our part to prop up the economy.
Posted by: kerrcarto on October 10, 2008 02:05 PMHave fun! But I won't behave myself. I'm bloody mad at your trolls, and I'll say so. Your Frog Prosper gets it at the post: "Thank you for your concern." I translated his insulting emails. And if he appears on the scene, he'll get it again. My honour requires it. It sounds very pompous. But French-Canadians never let a Froggie get away with anything. If he doesn't understand my English, I'll say it in French. You'll have a problem googling a translation....
BTW Have fun!
Posted by: Claudia on October 10, 2008 03:12 PMClaudia-You Go, Girl ! (grin)-Unca Sandy
Posted by: Sandy G on October 10, 2008 03:22 PM.......they sell Shiner outside of Texas? really?
Posted by: patrick on October 10, 2008 04:44 PMPatrick, Shiner is a staple of a blowneyed meet. Peeps from Texas will be there that means Shiner Bock will be there.
Posted by: kerrcarto on October 10, 2008 04:56 PMcheers..have a good time.
Posted by: thud on October 10, 2008 05:24 PMDamn wish I was going so I could make a complete fool of myself in front of a different group of people.
Have a killer time Denny!
Posted by: CharlieDelta on October 10, 2008 07:00 PMYeah, Charlie, THAT would be Big Fun...That's the worst part of growin' up...Havin' to act Respectable ALL the damn time...(grin)-Unca Sandy
Posted by: Sandy G on October 10, 2008 08:15 PMClaudia,
Je ne parle pas ou ne comprends pas français. J'emploie cet endroit pour traduire pour moi. Il n'est pas parfait, mais il obtient le travail réalisé.
Let me know how the translation worked........
Posted by: B....... on October 11, 2008 01:47 AMB...... - The translation is so-so. A French person would understand but it's very clumsy, specially the last sentence. It's very much like the English I spoke the first few years I tried!
What it should be, according to Claudia:
Je ne parle pas et ne comprends pas le français. J'emploie cet endroit pour me traduire. Ce n'est pas parfait, mais cela me donne le résultat désiré.
Which is a big lie...but it depends what you put in English! Hope it's clear. The dark letters are the corrections.

Thanks Claudia - I suspected that Babel Fish was not perfect. But it has come in handy the few times that I have had to use it.
Posted by: B....... on October 11, 2008 02:46 PMB.....- Yes! Babel Fish is good to have. There wasn't one spelling mistake in your translation. It was clumsy but the meaning was there.
In my days (no internet), I had to walk around with a dictionary, when I moved from Québec to Ontario. But English Canadians are so kind and tolerant. Nobody ever laughed. They helped me a lot.
If you need a few sentences done, not on the spot, you could always email me. I would be glad to help. Bonne fin de semaine. Have a good week-end.
Posted by: Claudia on October 11, 2008 06:13 PMMerci mon ami
Posted by: B....... on October 11, 2008 07:34 PMB.......Ha!Ha!Ha! It's amie for a woman. We add the "e" for feminine gender. I wonder if Babel Fish would know that ;-). Goodnight. Bonne nuit.
Posted by: Claudia on October 11, 2008 09:30 PM"I wonder if Babel Fish would know that"
Apparently not, but now I do. I'm a bum if I don't learn something new every day. Thanks Claudia......
Posted by: B....... on October 11, 2008 10:14 PMHey!
Who ya callin' a "Bonne nuit?"
Just TEASING!
Today was a WONDERFUL Saturday on so many fronts!
Aside from being ebullient, I'll follow Denny's dictum and behave myself.
But THIS is that rare Saturday that comes 'round only once during any-given Fall anywhere/everywhere somewhere on the face of this Good Earth.
Blessings Upon Me Be Upon You!
Y'all behave now, hear?
Go Ga Dawgs!
Posted by: DanS. on October 11, 2008 10:35 PMNow that is the DanS I can appreciate. Hope the rest of your weekend is as nice. Bonne nuit DanS......

Goodnight DennyBoy! I hope you're behaving...
Posted by: Claudia on October 11, 2008 11:21 PMI had a very dear United States AIR FORCE comrade die (at 49 years of age) of brain cancer yesterday.... he would have wanted me to post the following:
"MAY YE BE A HALF AN HOUR IN HEAVEN AFORE THE DEVIL KNOWS' YER DEAD!"
I think (and pray) that he managed that last mission.
Hell, I'm confident that he did.
The quote above was raised along with a frosty glass mug from Toronto to Toledo (Ohio), Manila Bay to Angeles City. I lost a good Man yesterday. The Good Lord gained an able AirMan.
That Good & Able Airman will be back bye & bye.
DanS. sorry about your buddy... but to all of you I say "Hookem" . best game I've ever attended.
Posted by: patrick on October 11, 2008 11:54 PMpatrick:
"Hook'em Horns" is perhaps the penultimate sports expression in all of College football!
Posted by: DanS. on October 12, 2008 12:08 AMoff topic comment Bob. Before commenting again read The Riles. I don't like trolls.
Posted by: Bob on October 12, 2008 04:25 AMDanS......
I am sorry for the loss of your dear friend, I will pray for him. Reading your post`s concerning your service experience`s , I understand how much the comradeship of your service buddies mean`s to you.
To the memory of your service mate......"Rest in peace, we salute you"
Posted by: dudley1 on October 12, 2008 12:53 PMDanS. I was a frustrated graduate of The University of North Texas. As a sports fan it always left me wanting much more. I declared myself a free agent 22 years ago and hitched my wagon to Texas where my brother and sister went. It is politically dicey around the house now that my daughter goes to Texas Tech.
I also think that Texas has the best helmet in college football. I also like Michigans, USC, and Alabama with the numbers.
You ever seen a grown Man wracked with grief?
I come here because I have no where else to go.
I thoughtt I at least might find a Shoulder here.
That is All. Carry On.
Your friend,
DanS.

Posted by: PeggyU on October 13, 2008 01:45 PMI`m Back......
Last night I was about to post something very important concerning the impending election but.........The virus/computer Demon`s attacked my computer & attempted to install unwanted spyware which shut down any effective use of it & kept me from reversing the attack.
After many hours of thorough analysis, diagnostic diligence & a considerable amount of shithouse luck I was able to restore this computer to a working & responsive mode of operation.
Unfortunately I cannot remember what it was which was so important yesterday I wanted to post. Oh well, such as it is.
