Never a truer word spoken!
Posted by: thud on October 13, 2008 06:20 PMAs I looked at that plate, I realized what a poor choice McCain made. Some people will look at the name Obama, they will see O-mama, and think they are casting a vote for Sarah. Too many of us guys think with the little head, McCain is doomed.
Posted by: Jeremy on October 15, 2008 09:56 AMJeremy - The poor choice is McCain. You've been betrayed by the Republican Party which opted for a centrist and a populist. To win your election you would require a renewed Conservative message. It's not being delivered. As it is, the distinction beween McCain and Obama is only a distinction of strategy. I'm afraid people will choose the "new" Obama thing.
The only very clear moral issue, in this election, is abortion. Will your laws reflect the right thing or the convenient thing? I don't know why McCain/Palin never mention that Obama has voted a bill allowing Open Abortion which kills the well formed baby in the womb. If you would see the procedure, step by step, you would want to hang the politicians and the medical people who practise it.
Posted by: Claudia on October 15, 2008 01:07 PMI'm talking about partial birth abortion. Horrible infanticide!
Posted by: Claudia on October 15, 2008 01:27 PMClaudia, Obama voted for a bill that would allow the slaughter of infants who survive the abortion.
FWIW, I'm a single issue voter, and infant murder is that issue.
I was being snarky earlier, Obama or Oh Mama!
I'll take Palin, a woman who has put her money where her mouth is, walked the most difficult walk.
Twenty years ago, I and my wife were told that the child she carried was at high risk of deformities due to radiation exposure. We had a hard choice. Steven is a healthy very bright retard. Yes, saddly, he is a democrat. Some ADHD, a petulant trouble maker, but otherwide, one heck of a kid.
Jeremy - Friend, I salute you, your wife, and your dear son Steven.
This is the one single issue which would always decide my vote. Dr.Robert George, professor and philosopher, at Princeton University, has written an excellent article: "Obama's Abortion Extremism." He describes Obama's views on life issues ranging from abortion to embryonic stem cell research. Obama is the most pro-abortion candidate to have run on a major party ticket. Can you picture what will happen with him at the White House, with a Democratic Congress in action? The rights of the unborn would be totally abolished.
As a young Registered Nurse, in a General Hospital, I always refused to work on the Abortion Floor. I called it the Murder Floor. I had seen once the 3 month-old foetus of a spontaneous abortion. He was a perfectly formed human being. I knew then instantly that life begins at conception. I don't always agree with the pro-life people's extremist actions but I agree with their philosophical belief.
