I'm visiting my grandson at Marine Airstation Yuma, and they have the day off. Isn't that nice.

I googled USMC. Didn't know it meant the Marines. I watched the Silent Drill Platoon on YouTube.
Wonderful! Even better in real action. Of that, I'm sure.

Happy Birthday. And thanks.

I'll do one better. Happy veterans day to all of our veterans at the GOC: Denny, Vetfromhell (come back man),DanS, the spawn of TDO, echo5bravo, everyone I'm forgetting, and the memory of my dad.

You guys all went through some level of asswhipping to keep us all safe. You are the best. Heres to all of you ~clink~

I'd like to share one small anecdote that happened earlier today.

I was participating as a member of the Faculty Advisory Board and we had 3 new members come aboard.

As they introduced themselves, and we went around the table, they were sharing where they earned their PhD and sharing other titles and honors and the like.

When it came my turn, I said simply:

"There's only one title that I'll claim ... that of United States Marine."

By way of saluting and honoring My Marines everywhere today, I'll now shut up. :)

Happy Birthday, Marines!

Patrick -
Wonderful idea. Happy Veterans'Day to all of you, and the memory of my brother, added to Patrick's father.

Gentlemen: To you!... À la vôtre!...

My grandfather's cousin was a Marine who served in the Pacific and Korea (he fought at Chosin). For his service, the service of his fellow Marines, and the service of all those who served and sacrificed and continue to do so I'd like to say a sincere and heartfelt thank you.

When it absolutely, positively has to be destroyed overnight, dial 1-800-MARINES.
