AOTW 11-14-2007

I'm sure I'll be featuring this dooshbag quite a few times over the next four years. And yes, I'm calling our future president a dooshbag. Why? Maybe because he's skipping his grandmother's memorial service.

Hawai'i residents will have a chance to celebrate the life of Madelyn Dunham, grandmother of president-elect Barack Obama, at a community tribute service at 5 p.m. tomorrow at the National Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. The event is being put on by friends of Dunham and the Obama family, although family members themselves are not expected to attend.

Way to show the proper respect for the woman who raised him, but then, he called her a racist and threw her under the bus so I guess it's too much to expect him and his family to show her the proper respect.

Asshole! Here's your award.

Well Denny, you have to cut him some slack. She was a "typical white person" afterall...

Looking forward to 4 years of 'if you can't confuse them with facts, then baffle them with BS. We can hope he soon joins a very short list of presidents, Lincoln, JFK. etc.

Posted by: Scrapiron on November 15, 2008 12:20 AM

Your best choice to date!!!!

this is the person most important in his life..the one that did the most for his Career, and the one that suffered the most so he could get ahead...remember this summer when he visited her...michelle and the kids were not able to come up and see her...they stayed in the lobby

This guy is a piece of SHIT

at least send Michelle and the Kids!!!???

Why the mystery on this matter????

If we know so much about Joe the PLumber and all of Palins kids why NOTHING on this Lovely Woman???

Posted by: ty guy on November 15, 2008 04:40 AM

We know more about Joe and the kids than we do about JHE, why would the media report on his grandmother?

Posted by: Romeo Foxtrot on November 15, 2008 08:47 AM

3 things passed quickly through my mind when I read this.
1) I was apalled. first you accuse him of making up the fact the his grandmother was very ill and using her illness to gain political favor (you can go back and read your own comments on that)and now this
2) the expression "wallow in the muck" not him, you all
3) for this snippet you deserve your own said award

Posted by: dee on November 15, 2008 08:58 AM

dee,dee,dee,

You certainly can't see the writing on the wall. He wanted NOTHING to do with granny because of her skin color until he realized that his lack of contact would hurt him in the polls. Why can't you see/understand this? He is an opportunist. Nothing more, nothing less.
Prove me wrong.

Posted by: Ray on November 15, 2008 09:45 AM

Well, the ol' gal kicked B4 she had a chance to vote for him. Not a voter, so who cares ? Maybe she'll haunt the White House & scare some sense into her grandson...And Monkeys will fly outta my butt in 5..4..3..2..(grin)

Posted by: Sandy G on November 15, 2008 09:54 AM

He couldn't make it because he is too busy figuring out what Clintonites to have in his administration. Change my ass.

Posted by: kerrcarto on November 15, 2008 10:00 AM

you know... I really don't care whose memorial service it is in hawaii...if I can go, I am there.

Posted by: patrick on November 15, 2008 10:38 AM

Many years ago - longer than I care to consider - a college buddy of mine offered this sound advice:

"Whenever a person's words differ from their actions - always believe their actions."

Bet he shows up at Ayers' memorial when that day comes.

Posted by: John Galt on November 15, 2008 10:53 AM

If he went, he would become the focus of the event. Then you could accuse him of politicizing his grandmother's death.

Posted by: Daniel on November 15, 2008 12:07 PM

Dee - I never accused him of faking his grandmother's illness.

SandyG - She did vote for him before she passed away.

Daniel - GFY!

Posted by: Denny on November 15, 2008 12:20 PM

Her planned interview, memories, stories about that one are forever sealed from the public.

What more does he need with her now?

Not at all enamored of Obama. However, it is possible that she died earlier than the press said and that there was already a private family memorial while he was in Hawaii. Maybe eventually it will come out. For some reason, I suspect that a family-only service may have taken place prior to this - with Obama, his half sister and a handful of other relatives. Was Michelle Obama close to her mother-in-law, by the way? I haven't really tried to find out, but I suppose it's possible that they didn't get along well. How often did the Obama children visit grandma? If they were not close, it would not surprise me that Obama would visit on his own.

That being said, there is something else that is really pissing me off about Obama's personal relationships - and that is his friendship with Bill Ayers. Ok, so now the asshole is coming forward and stating outright in his new book that he and Obama are family friends and that they have a long-standing history. Well, those of us who did our homework already knew that. However, I have one friend - I don't know whether she voted for Obama or not, but I know she was vacillating. I did point out the Ayers connection, and she dismissed it as an unfair attempt to attack his character. She believed his connection was limited to serving on a couple of committees. Thanks, mainstream media, for being the watchdogs of democracy. Yes, you are dogs for sure - duplicitous, butt-sniffing, skulking curs!

How goes the Georgia senate race, btw, Denny? I am tempted to donate ... but will it do any good at this late hour?

Posted by: PeggyU on November 15, 2008 02:40 PM

No problem, Denny, but I STILL hope she comes back & haunts him.... Wouldn't we all just LOVE to see a pic of Michelle-Ma-Belle scared shitless, her arms up, eyes like saucers, running away like a little girl...Mbwahahahahaha...

Here we go, the body count is officially started with the Magic Mulatto's administration, my guess is it will pile up higher than that of the Clintoon's. Of course it will have to be prorated for four years instead of eight.

He already attended her "funeral", which was private. He may be wanting to avoid it because Westboro Baptist Church is considering picketing it. I am sure that it will be a much more attractive picket site if he attends the "Memorial Service" if he is there as well. I don't believe he ever called her a racist, he unfortunately said he couldn't disown Reverend Wrightanymore than he could disown his own Grandmother for making statements about blacks that made him "cringe". I personally would not have made that public knowledge, but he chose to do so and is dealing with that. The question is did he lie for sensationalism, or is it possible that despite the fact that she loved him and raised him the best she could, there were things that she may have said that hurt him as a child. Not uncommon for mixed race kids, some of my relatives have that issue.

I think that things are going to get bad because race is coming to the forefront in a lot of areas. But I think things are going to get bad before they get better for the benefit of all. Unfortunately there is rarely a sensible dialogue about race, there is always a rant of the typical talking points that both sides use. Hopefully that will change in the future. I am proud that I live in a country that this dialogue is even possible.

"Looking forward to 4 years of 'if you can't confuse them with facts, then baffle them with BS. We can hope he soon joins a very short list of presidents, Lincoln, JFK. etc."

Is that something a true American would ever wish for?

Posted by: Dkelsmith on November 15, 2008 08:03 PM

Dkelsmith-
No he didn't call her a "racist", he called her a "typical white person".

Is that not the same thing? Tell me how it's not. Racism is a two way street, and I for one am proud to be white. Does that make me a "racist"? Because I'm proud to be white? If it does, then so be it, but I see a lot more racism in the black community than I do in the Cracker community...

Notice I didn't say white power. White Pride. Racist jokes are only "racist" when a cracker is tellin' them in this fucked up PC world.

Racism is a two way street and the "rev" Wrights of this world are the ones fuelin' the fire with their hatred for those of us who happen to have white pride.

I guess I'm a racist because I'm proud to be white! So be it.

I wonder where Sharpton is on this issue? Nevermind, I'm automatically a racist in his mind.

I really hope the Marxist mulatto does not join the group of former presidents you cite. If that were to occur he would be immediately canonized as "St. Obama the martyred Messiah".

You got a point there, "Greek Guy"...Plus, that would be the end of private gun ownership, something the Left has been wanting to do for ages. I'm sure, though, that the wise & generous Gov't would give us Fair Market Value for our guns if we were required to turn them in...

And let's not forget the context of him accusing her of racism.

After being mugged by a black man, she felt less safe around them, and felt guilty for feeling this way.

What's needed here is an open-thread.

I can see, read and even understand what those who take the time to post are saying.

It occurs to me that, using critical-thinking skills, rather than simply being a critic, are not the same thing.

One is constructive & hopes to offer; the other is destructive and seeks to diminish. Which is why a non-polarizing thread is needed.

Therein lies the basis for all of the personal attacks. Could it possibly be, having no constructive criticism available, yet having strong opinion based on personal insight, we have to fall back on the destructive?

AOTW? The President-Elect? Prior to any overt act? Somebody is peeing in the pool.

Posted by: DanS. on November 16, 2008 06:05 AM

DanS...need something??? need something constructive??? Go somewhere else!!!

The GOC..ers have been perfectly clear about Obama...and you have been perfectly clear about your FOG screen....all that he ran on I reject..
His abortion stand is atrocious (for me and Claudia)
He wants everyone's 401 k to spread the wealth around???
His associations with anti-American idiots and anti-White racists..
He wanted a race on the issues and I can't tell you how many Obamanites I have asked.. that can or will say WHY they voted for him other than CHANGE!!!! They'll get change alright
HE WANTS TO LAY DOWN OUR NUKES!!! Yea that will rid the world of Nuclear threats alright!!!(DanS do you honestly believe this one!!!!)
Yadda Yadda Yadda...EVERYTHING

But most important and the reason why Denny gave him this Honor....the most important person on earth to him and the Only one that truely loved him (love means I will never abandon you)...No mention ...and no visit!!!! He is a monumental ASSHOLE...SphincterVille MAN

Yes DanS it is all there and Denny is so right on this one...

Posted by: ty guy on November 16, 2008 08:01 AM

Are not all of Denny's threads open? Come on Dan, why do you always preface your tirades with "we should have an open thread on this"? Me thinks you are trying to divert attention from the facts and trying to cloud peoples judgment with your "emotions". That's where you and lib/socialist/dims fall short. You make decisions and comments on how your "heart" feels (while "I'd like to teach the world to sing" plays in the background of your minds) without "thinking" about what you are saying and doing. Anyone that thinks Obama is not a racist, does not hold Anti-American feelings in his mind, and is not out to change the foundations of which this country was based, is a Fucking Fool. They are unable to accept that someone that 54% of this country knowingly put into office would consider these things that will change the fabric of our country. Those same 54% are not willing to admit that they are too stupid or too lazy to do the research that would have revealed his Anti-American biased and they should have never even considered him for the position he is in. Well Fuck those morons and screw the idiots that elected him. They will get what they deserve and then some, problem is those of us that saw the writing on the wall, and voted with out mind, not our hearts (hopey dopey change!) will have the pay the price with them.

Posted by: Ray on November 16, 2008 08:30 AM

It just blows my mind that some continue to bash and belittle those that they do not agree with, ya that makes everthing so much better. You state your opinion about some thing, I do not agree with you well then its simple GO FUCK YOUR SELF, ya problem solved!!!

ok and now for this post, What a typical politian the One is, how can anyone say he did not use his Grandma's illness to his benifit, if he did not go to the celebration of her life. The problem is that you can not trust any of the media sources to know the truth. Oh and here is an article from the NYT showing just how the "HOPE and CHANGE" is already the same old DC shit. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27728496/
Among the full roster of about 150 staff members being assigned to government agencies between now and Inauguration Day are dozens of former lobbyists and some who were registered as recently as this year. Many more are executives and partners at firms that pay lobbyists, and former government officials who work as consultants or advisers to those seeking influence.

I figure this must be atleast a little true after all NYT would not lie about the ONE

Atleast there was hope that McCain would have atleast tried to change the way Washington runs.

that is exactly what I was TRYING to say...

thanks for the help

I like the stupid part..for ALL the Obaminites I talked too... and these are Conservatives that crossed the line...were hypnotized by the one..
however they cannot say why they voted for Barack

I call that stupid

Poor old Grandma..
I'd like to know if her Coffin was in the shape of a BUS????

Posted by: ty guy on November 16, 2008 09:35 AM

my appologies to our host
he is correct on that one point, I went back and read through that thread.

Ray, time will tell. When the Republican Party gets it's act back together. The trickle down effect was a good idea. The only problem it didn't take into account was the extent of human corruption. When they can address this issue is when they will again gain my respect

I think the same could be said for politics as well. Both parties are in need of a major overhauls. Both parities have forgoten just what their jobs are and that which they were elected to do. I think they all need to back to school and take classes about the founding fathers and the constitution and what they fought so hard to achieve.

They made fun of Palin for not knowing what the VP job was.....maybe they should all look in that mirror and state what they think their job is.

Posted by: dee on November 16, 2008 11:03 AM

Bill - great catch on that link.

Posted by: patrick on November 16, 2008 11:11 AM

CharlieDelta,

I don't remember that in the quote, but if you say it happened I will take your word for it. Arguing about what was said and what was meant is a waste of time, only Senator Obama knows.

I will agree with you that more attention and outrage occurs when a white person says something racist or offensive than when a black person or another minority groups says something. I also agree that it is not right and not fair.

However, I see more and more that the automatic assumption when a black person says that something is offensive they are automatically making things up. Sometimes this may be true, but many times it may not be.

The typical "reverse racism" talking points are the same as the tired "claims of racism" talking points. I haven't accused anyone of being racist, but when I found the Obama shoe shine ad offensive not many people wanted to address that, but stated what Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson do things, but nobody says anything.

The point I make is that if hypothetically I find something on this blog offensive and I make a remark that I find it offensive, why must I submit a transcript of incidents where I have disagree with Sharpton or Jackson or Belafonte? We don't know one another, but I think we can tell the cloth that one another are cut from. I take your statements, your comments, and everything else as an indication of you. Why do we always talk about Al Sharpton any time I submit an opinion?

I'm not short, fat, old, nor do I have a processed perm. I didn't think that Tawana Brawley was telling the truth. I earn an honest living and it doesn't come from donations. I have never, let me state it now, NEVER lodged a complaint, grievance, or anything based upon race or any other reason for that matter. I don't think Affirmative Action kept you from having the job that I am currently in. You say you detected "anger" in my post about Obama shining shoes, but you were the one that said, "Fuck" four or five times in one paragraph. I don't ask you to agree, just take my point for what it is, and don't ask me about Sharpton...just because I have brown skin doesn't mean I am a fan of his....

Posted by: Dkelsmith on November 16, 2008 02:02 PM

Surprise , Surprise, Surprise!!!!!

DanS just like on cue has asked for an open thread......Why, so he can run & hide like he did on at least two other requested open thread`s?

Like Ray said .....all of Denny`s post`s are open thread`s unless Denny says otherwise & certainly DanS has never in the past had any problem with jumping the intent of a thread ....why now??

Posted by: dudley1 on November 16, 2008 05:50 PM

Well, maybe you haven't been admonished as much as I have for 'jumping the thread'.

Believe it or not, I try to play by the rules.

I run? I hide? Since when?

dudley1, let me get out in the open here on one thing: you need to work on your punctuation. And your reading-comprehension skills.

How did I jump the thread? I crafted my response to this thread over, at minimum, more than 45-minutes.

Why are you always attacking me no matter what I do? Rather, why are you always attacking me so poorly?

You wouldn't know me if I was standing right next to you! Yet you see fit to both castigate and categorize me. Is that some sort of reciprocal thing? Perhaps some sort of 'condition'?

Turn on the light in the closet; you'll see more clearly.

Ray:

They will get what they deserve and then some, problem is those of us that saw the writing on the wall, and voted with out mind,

Says it perfectly.

Posted by: DanS. on November 16, 2008 06:45 PM

DanS......

You have asked several times to have an open thread, Denny obliged you & then you disappeared without taking part.I would call this running & hiding.

The statement for jumping a thread has no bearing for current posts, it was for past posts where you have had no problem posting comments which have had little bearing to pre-existing content as posted by others....in fact you have been admonished to stay on topic.

As to me attacking you, you accused me sometime back of imitating you, being a phony & telling me I was a user.

All I am doing is making referance when you do something particulary stupid like taking the pipe with a ficticious third party candidate vote at the 11th hour after championing the liberal Democrats for the entire primary period.Personally I think you on reflection were ashamed of your support & vote for Obama & tried to assume a superior position which does not match your previous posts or rhetoric

I will put something out into the open, for an educated man you sure miss a whole lot when it comes to common sense.......Critical Thinking my ass, this is just more Liberalese double talk when you do not have a clue or a leg to stand on.

DanS.... this is an open blog if one follow`s the rules, but it is for the most part a conservative blog & when one posts far out liberal fairy tales if would follow to most a response should be anticipated. Were I the only one to post you were crazier then a shit house rat,Nuts, Smoking some weird shit, high on drugs, on the wrong meds or fell into a bottle, you might have a valid point. It is a fact I am not alone as to the belief you are a farout leftwing nutcase.

As to my spelling & composition.....I make do with the skills I have, most have a higher regard then you but you are entitled to your opinion.I make no pretense to possessing the advanced degrees as you have but I think I do quite well in comparison when reality & common sense are factored into the equation.
I am comfortable with allowing the other poster`s & readers judge the content & value of what I post, you might be well advised to pay close attention to how well your posts are recieved before you take mine to task.

Posted by: dudley1 on November 16, 2008 07:52 PM

dudley1:

Without taking you to task on any or all, I offer this:

A re-boot.

You think & say I've smeared you in the past; I think you've smeared me in the present.

Do we make a new start?

Your call.

I offer you an opportunity to share how you would have me post. I may or may not agree with your terms, but I will give honest consideration as to how you want to be addressed.

If you want instantaneous reaction to everything you post, say so; if you want considered-response to something you post, say so.

If you want something in between, say so.

Do not hold me to some standard that I was not party to.

It does no one any good if we are but slingers.

At least, according to me.
Your opinion's may be different and I respect that.

As I said: reboot?

Your call.

Posted by: DanS. on November 16, 2008 08:48 PM

I don't ask you to agree, just take my point for what it is, and don't ask me about Sharpton...just because I have brown skin doesn't mean I am a fan of his....

Dkelsmith-
Point taken. That was an emotional comment(s) of mine, based on my life's experiences and I'll try to keep that in mind in future posts directed towards you. I respect what you do for this country and have never questioned your service, nor will I ever.

But because I use the work "fuck" fives times in a post doesn't mean that I am angry. I work in the construction industry and that word is usually used at least five times in a sentence. Much more in a paragraph. Surrounded by f-bombs all day for the last 11 years has made that word part of my regular vocabulary. I try to tone it down when I post here because there are a lot of women that frequent here. Sometimes, I'm a little too fired up and can't help myself. Fuck it!

As far as the Sharpton references go, I will do my best to STFU. Please accept my apology, as I have never meant that as a form of disrespect towards you. Believe it or not, I have friends of all races...

Sincerely,

Besides who have I posted back & forth with who know`s early Rock & Roll as well as Delta Blues & Chess.

I do not care what or how you post, that is your decision ,the same as it is for me but at least be true to your point of view or conviction. If you change your mind that is OK as that is what we from the right are trying to get you & others to do.

I post from a conservative viewpoint, you from a Liberal.......Honest debate is fine even if laced with a healthy dose of pointed humor. I know I dish it out but I can take it as well.

I think one of the best thing`s we can do is to make sure we attend one of these blogmeets together & tip a few with the the regulars.Somebody has to show the criplets how to drink.

Uncle dudley1-
Bring it on dude! Bottle, can or keg? I still wanna shake you hand! DanS too...

Posted by: CharlieDelta on November 20, 2008 05:23 AM

CharlieDelta.....

Hey! you mentioned my three favorite types of beer.....Bottle,Can & Keg. I remember a number of years back at a tavern where I was a regular for imbibing & Euchre, we would post jokes about each other on a bulletin board. they had one for me by a Cartoonist named Rodriguez showing a bum laying in an alley next to a tavern under a sign which said "I am not diabetic, I am drunk"

Those were the good old days ...It was there where we learned to dish it out & by God you had better be able to take it. I can`t say drinking like we did back then was really such a good idea but we weeded out real phonies & assholes very quickly. Some of our best Canadian fishing trips were planned there. It was a man`s bar of old, fish fries, super bowl parties, biggest buck contest`s ,homemade deer sausage tasting parties, & the annual trout safari to name just a few.

Anyway I was a two fisted drinker...one in each hand & I never drank unless I was alone or with somebody. On Saturday mornings which were tavern cleaning days most of us at various times would show up for free coffee from fishing or hunting.
There was a sign posted which said "No alcoholic beverages before noon" In smaller letters underneath was a hand written sign which said "It`s gotta be past noon in Europe"

Posted by: dudley1 on November 20, 2008 09:15 AM

Anyway I was a two fisted drinker...one in each hand & I never drank unless I was alone or with somebody.

Those are the words I tend to live by. Well, to be honest, I only drink on days that end in "y", so there you have it. I might be a skinny little dude, but I could definately give you a run for your money, if not get my second wind and get a few laps ahead of you. Heh!

Hope all is well on the homefront...
