Just about the time I quit thinking about the election, something like this shows up. We are so screwed.
In the video, one of the questions was where they got their news. In a Pew Report I saw, they did a survey on just that question and listed news commontators/networks in order of percent preference. FOX, Limbaugh & O'Reilly were near the top. Katie Couric was way down the list - just after THE WEATHER CHANNEL.

This makes me sad. Plain and simple. Where the hell have we gone as a society?

In fairness to the Dims, we probably have some equally ignorant people on our side of the fence. What this video points to, more than the stupidity of these people, is the failure of the press to behave responsibly and provide balanced content. Only one of the people in this video, the black girl with the glasses and the pink sweater, even realized and admitted that she was uninformed. This video also underscores the fact that "get out the vote" efforts do the country a great disservice, since they pull in ignoramuses such as these who lack the initiative to gather facts and make an educated decision.

I'm so depressed... I wrote, on the Criplets'blog, I didn't believe my Texan friends when they told me USA had changed. And you truly irritated me, Denny, when you repeated constantly, "The country is doomed"... and called people, "booger eatin' moh-rons". You and my friends were right. I'm so depressed...

Not that we're any better here. I have to live with people who still think that Pierre Trudeau was God. They're wondering why we're fighting in Iraq...(and we're only in Afghanistan!!!). CBC (French and English) is sold out to socialism. During the election, the Toronto Star put down Sarah Palin everyday and reported, "Obama's brilliant campaign. No glitches. McCain and disatrous running mate are largely the authors of their own misfortune." And the Press Room erupted into applause when CNN projected Obama's win. So much for objectivity!!!!

Where can the average citizen learn? How can ignorance be reversed?

In general terms as there are exceptions, the typical Conservative voter will examine the potential candidate to determine their true position on given issues, patriotism & belief in our form of Government & Constitution. Not so for the typical Democratic Liberal as they never were taught what civic responsibility is, what this country stands for or what the Constitution provides.They swallow Democratic talking points,& Media hype as if it were gospel, they never give a thought to truth or reality. The results of this poll demonstrate this sad truth as they were well aware of the answer`s to the Palin question` s which were plastered all over the main stream Media outlets but were unaware of anything of value concerning the Messiah or his Democratic cohort`s.

I believe in an old Navy Saying as taught to me by a Retired Navy Chief Warrant Officer..."You can`t make Chicken Salad out of Chicken Shit" I do not think the Average Democratic voter will ever understand this or reason in an intelligent manner. Just as farm animals will run into a burning barn or a moth to the flame ....so will these functional moron`s rally to support some Democratic phony & gulp down another bowl of Democratic hope, change ......Bullshit!

Media Malpractice... that is where the author of this clip is going with this. Too right, too.

Repeat it often enough and the public can be fed almost anything and believe it. (I can't resist- best example of this is religion!)

The media threw this election to the candidate that they overwhelmingly supported.

So, what can be done about it? Boycott the most slanted news orgs? Don't watch them already.

Send nasty emails to the companies advertising on the programs? A little better.

Start a radical underground group to engage in terrorist acts against the media? Like it.. but gonna end up in jail.

Pass laws that "accredited news outlets" must deliver unbiased news? Dangerous beyond the point of foolishness.

Support news outlets that are the least biased by patronizing them with viewership, listenership, readership, And letting their advertisers know that you watch, listen or read for that reason? Pretty good, maybe all we CAN do.

Anybody have a better idea how to support unbiased news?

What would you expect when some one out spends teh other some thing like 4 million to 1 each day on media advertising. I even think O man won some sort of media award because of the amount of advertising.

We don't read our history enough, despite the availability of news, we don't stay informed and we depend upon talking heads, most of whom are paid enormous salaries to make outlandish statements on TV so that the stations rankings will be enhanced and its advertisers get plenty of time for their money.

Harry Truman was not a lightweight, a legitimate point could be made for HST as having been one of our best Presidents in the last century.

The public may survive but in what form, it is in serious danger this time as the percentage of idiots or leftwing dreamers is far higher then at any time in American`s history. The world no longer will wait for America to get over a case of Socialistic Flu.

You have the still dangerous Fundamentalist Arab `s, Emerging super power`s such as China & India as well as a resurgent Russia & the host of wanna be`s like Iran,North Korea or even a coalition of South American Socialist States which are overjoyed for the ignorance of American Voter`s.

You are correct that many do not study or therefore learn from history, many do not stay informed & they do depend on talking heads. Unfortunately they do vote & that is how a Socialist like Obama has been elected with the major news Media still in the middle of an orgasm of adolation for him.

We need an electorate who is serious about this country , who is true to its founding principles. I just do not see any glimmer of this in our younger generation & the time frame to restore American patriotism is getting very short. Like I said...there is a pandemic of STUPID in this country, and 48% of you out there are terminally freekin' lame brained idots!...anyone seen the film "Idiocracy"?...that film takes on a whole new light now, its actually a prediction thats really coming true...God help us!

Speaking as a 26 y.o. professional woman, there are still a few of us young'uns with our heads straight. Every single young person (actually, all persons) at my office voted for McCain, though we are all actuaries, intelligent, logical, and therefore, a skewed demographic sample. Even our French-Canadians (at least those that can legally vote in the US) voted for McCain. Hopefully, that makes Dudley feel a little bit better.
