I just got my weekly free copy of the other piece of shit mag TIME yesterday. I is about how to save newspapers. The few cops I know have all said they're gonna look the other way when they try to eliminate the Second Amendment. Crime is already going up and some are afraid when it gets bad, there will be looting. Cops don't get paid enough to risk their lives. That's why I say end the war on drugs. All that money being wasted would be better off spent paying the cops who are hired to protect us a living wage. It would also help eliminate the corruption in the ranks. Would you really want to risk your life for $30K?

denny, i saw this yesterday and wondered if you would post it. it truly is amazing how the media feels about this country.

i think a lot of this same smack was being discussed in the 1930's. and, sure, that time period brought on a lot of what drives us crazy about the government.

but i don't think america is done yet (to borrow a clark howardism). we will have an extended recession similar to what the expanded government did during the great depression. i just hope it is not wwIII that gets us out of it this time. i'm just hoping 2010 will be a repeat of 1994.

Just saw that newsweek is going to cut its size and aim more at those who support it. In other words it is going to align itself even more with the Left and go with fewer subscriptions.

Sounds to me as if that is something they will have no choice in since all my friends with intelligence have cancelled their subs as I did. Time is apparently going to follow the same path. Smaller print runs, fewer pages, fewer subs. Could not happen to a better bunch unless Mother Jones and The Nation do the same thing.

Be curious to know what happens to Newsweak sales after this. I think patrick was right: The cover was designed to elicit "shock", and therefore attention. This is a typical liberal behavior! However, they may have crossed a line on this, just as the New Yorker did with their Obama cover. Liberals are at heart socialists ... but many will deny it.
