And You Thought Bush Was A Moron?

Who's the president of France? Does Jug Hussein Ears know?

Barack Obama does not seem to know that in May 2007, French voters elected Nicolas Sarkozy to the French presidency, to succeed Jacques Chirac who had been president for twelve years.

Yesterday, we told you Sarkozy is irritated because Mister O. refuses to tell him if he will accept to meet him personally in the next few months.

Strangely, we have just learnt this surprising piece of news

This oughta be good.

Barack Obama wrote a letter to Jacques Chirac to tell him about his desire to "work with him" for the next four years! In a letter described by Chirac as "very nice," Obama wrote, "I am certain that we will be able to work together, in the coming four years, in a spirit of peace and friendship to build a safer world." The use of the word "peace" was taken to be an indirect reference to Chirac's stance against the US intervention in Iraq, which Obama had also opposed.

This revelation was made by the online edition of the daily Le Figaro on Thursday.

Just imagine if this had been Bush. The LSM would be howling. Instead all we hear are crickets chirping.

So let's see. JHE was gonna change the way the world feels about us. Let's summarize:

The Brits are pissed at us.
The Russians are laughing at us.
The French are pissed at us. OK. That hasn't changed.
The Poles are pissed at us.
Iran is laughing at us.
Israel is pissed at us.
Hugo Chavez thinks JHE is an ignoramus. Gotta agree with Hugo on this one.
North Korea is testing us. JHE will fail this test.

Wow! Gotta love that smart diplomacy that JHE and Thunder Rodent Thighs promised us. And this is after only two months. Only 46 more months to go.

Hipe. Change. Incompetence.

You have got to be efing kidding me? The Assclown in Chief actually did this?

That (if true) is too, too funny! Oh, and happy FOD!

I'm beginnin' to think this ignoramus could feck up a 2 car funeral...-Unca Sandy

Maybe the Assclown-in-Chief can yuk it up about this on his next TV appearance. Gotta hand it to him, though. He said he intended to change America's image in the world and in just over 2 months we've gone from warmongering imperialists to clueless, classless dolts.

Posted by: thatjerryguy on March 23, 2009 03:27 PM

Oh well... appears to be a little over-blown. Not that I doubt Obama is an idiot. That's still perfectly provable.

Must be misinformation. As a reader of the Figaro, I've never red something about a letter to Chirac, or on the fact Obama doesn't know Sarkozy was the president. And more than that, when the candidate Obama was in Europe last summer, he met Sarkozy who was already president of France. Sarkozy made the best wishes for his election. And in the Figaro of today, there is an article on the fact our prime minister is now in washington to meet your vice president, to prepare the summit of London which stands in ten days, where your president will meet ours.

Posted by: emil on March 23, 2009 04:29 PM

Unca Sandy, he could do it to a one car funeral.

What the Fuck is a Fiagaro? The French version of KOS or something?

Posted by: Ray on March 23, 2009 04:44 PM

You're not really giving the guy a chance...Four, five months ago, he was not even sure how many states he had to visit in America. One month ago, just across your borders, he thought Ottawa was Iowa. And now you want him to be an European Foreign Affairs connoisseur.

First step, first. I would give him at least four years to learn where he is.That would be a big change. Then, with hope, he might be able to learn with whom he should be speaking. That's all he ever said: Change and Hope. He didn't say: Where and When.

Posted by: Claudia on March 23, 2009 04:48 PM

Emil - Tu ne sais pas de quoi tu parles. You don't know what you're talking about. The letter was written. I read it. The problem is not whether Obama knows who is your President. The problem is that it is a huge faux-pas. It has been sent to your ex-President Chirac, offering co-operation with his projects. It was sent before Obama acknowledged Sarkozy's congratulations. Who comes first? There is a protocol to follow in communications between countries. Obama and his people are totally ignorant in that area.

Obama came to Canada, and invited our governor-general to visit Washington, to speak about Haiti, her country of origin. It was a huge faux-pas. The first person to visit him officially from Canada should be our Prime Minister. And our Governor General represents Canada, not Haiti. She cannot go elsewhere to speak for her parents' country, except as a private citizen.

Obama has much to learn in political etiquette.

Of course, my comment about giving Obama a chance was an attempt at irony. Personally I would give him a boot out at the first opportunity. He is an ignoramus on just about every subject that I can think of. And his snobbish nose up and his phony smile cannot cover his lack of class and of heart.

Posted by: Claudia on March 23, 2009 06:36 PM

Hey, guys, I'd like for him to jump on his unicorn and fly off the planet, but I doubt seriously that he is unaware that Sarkozy, not Chirac, is the French president.

From what I'm reading, O Bam Bam was merely replying to a letter by Chirac who had written to him as the head of his foundation — the Jacques Chirac Foundation for sustainable development and cultural dialogue. In essence, ZerOBamateur was expressing like-minded support as part of his US image-improvement initiative.

I mean, liberals do some really stupid stuff, but they'd never let something like his addressing the wrong politician as PoF get past 'em.

Really? Remember, his teleprompter can only be used in certain instances. I don't think penning letters is one of them. *smirk*

So whaddya think? Can he set a new record and piss off the entire world in his first 100 days? We're toast...with a complete moron calling the shots (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/03/22/steve-kroft-obama-punch-drunk/) and the country already in the toilet economically, and China owning us (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/03/23/china-continue-buying-debt-official-says/, I'm not sure we have 46 months left....

I don't know which political party they belong to, but right now, Canada is furious with Americans. Our Canadian Army has been insulted, and laughed at, on Fox Show "Red Eye", by a bunch of ignorant comedians. And the audience lapped it all up. We learned that today, when four of our soldiers came back from Afghanistan in their coffins. People, who were welcoming our dead soldiers on our Highway for Heroes, kept saying: It's not even our war...

You can see it all on YouTube. I'm incensed....I hope that we'll get apologies from your Secretary of State, not only from the dumbass comedians...

Posted by: Claudia on March 23, 2009 11:37 PM

46 months? We have another 190 months to get through, along with 5 cities gone, tens of thousands of people dead, and the total destruction of the the Bill of Rights and the Constitution and the financial might of the United States. Along with the conversion to islam. Hold on to your hats, its going to be a bumpy ride.

Posted by: Heltau on March 24, 2009 06:47 AM

...lets see where to begin...every day it gets more insane!...they've torn up the Constitution and are using it for toilet paper!...They want everyone to own homes, but are going to take away the tax incentives to do so...they want everyone to have a job, but penalize both the success of the business you work for and the worker for being productive...God forbid you make money! (isn't that what capitalism is about??)...He wants to develop "Clean Coal" energy, but says he will tax that industry into extinction!...Americans need to "get by with less", but he's doubled the national debt in his first 50 days in office, and holds swank cocktail parties at the White House every wed. night, and flies off to anywhere in AF1 for the most ridiculous reasons!...appoints tax cheats to nearly every post in the cabinet, and now cant find anyone who isn't to help the chief tax cheat at Treasury!...on, and on, and on...btw...anyone know what SS agents are paid?...don't piss off the help Barry...and am I the only one who thinks he was stoned for that 60 minutes interview...visene takes the red out, but the behavior cant be covered up so easily!...STORM THE BASTILLE!! How about a National Tea Party? Imagine 10 million people marching to the White House, then down the street to the Capital demanding the heads of them all!?...just remember to carry signs and not pitch forks!...ok, I've ranted enough to be able to go to work so I can pay my bills, and try to feed my kids...(luckily I don't make a lot, or get a bonus)...

Just read in today's Washington Post that the Assclown in Chief now wants authority to seize ANY business who the Feds decide is near failure. Not just banks. To "protect the people".

Sounds like like Socialism/Communism to me.

Dare I suggest that we are nearing the need for a 2nd American Revolution to overthrow the new tyrants and restore the Republic?

Claudia, Red Eye insults everyone. You should hear how they pick on Belgum...It's a comedy show. It's one of my favorite shows! Now, simmer down, or we will accidently roll over in the middle of the night and crush you!

You know I'm just kidding ;)
Hugs and Sniggers

Posted by: LisaKay on March 24, 2009 06:51 PM

LisaKay -

Come here and tell Canadians today that Red Eye insults everyone, every week. They'll tell you (with me): NOT our Canadian Army, and NOT the week we lost four of our young men in Afghanistan.

We're NOT simmering down. It will be very hard for our Prime Minister to get approval to send more soldiers, and for a longer period. The 116 families who lost a soldier think we've done enough. If it was not good enough for the imbecile who laughed at us, and for the audience who gobbled it all up, then it will be NOTHING when the time comes to evaluate how much more we will do. We don't want praise and admiration. We're very low key people, very modest. But we want respect.

As for myself, I believe that we should be there. with USA, to fight the Taliban. But I'm a very lone voice. If I tell people that we need USA to defend us, if we're under attack, the answer is: If we're ever under attack, it will be because we're next door to you. And you'll come, not because you love us, but because it's in your best interest to keep Canada standing up.

We deserve official apologies for the insults we received, and not just from the brainless dumbass who laughed at our army. And believe me, the apologies have been given by the proper people, behind closed doors.

Canada is not very important but it's the country which refuses entrance to avowed terrorists like Ayers, (who walks free among you). And just recently to an irate British MP, who gave money to Hamas. I doubt that Red Eye will ever be allowed to cross our border.

Hugs, love and sniggers from a friendly old lady.

Posted by: Claudia on March 24, 2009 09:35 PM

Claudia,
I didn't agree with insulting the Canadian Army, nor would I. I think Canada is very important, and to be respected as well. (I love the Carribean!) ;)
It's kind of like having a younger sibling, you know you're not supposed to pick on her, but you kinda can't help it. In this case you're the upstairs neighbor, I'll keep the ruckus down as long as we can share a bottle of wine on the fire escape and snigger at 'the other neighbors' together? At least once in awhile?

Posted by: LisaKay on March 25, 2009 02:15 AM

LisaKay - Of course, will do...;)

Posted by: Claudia on March 25, 2009 03:40 AM

Claudia- please allow me to apologize for the idiots in my country. The way your countrymen have stood by us is appreciated, and the loss of one of your troops is just as sad as when we lose one of our own.

Rob J

Posted by: Inbred Redneck on March 25, 2009 09:36 AM

Inbred Redneck - Apologies accepted. It's very much needed at the moment. I'll convey your words to my small group who has been following the GOC with me all those months. We're wondering why the Americans who appreciate our troops haven't spoken out yet in condemnation of this vile humour at the expense of our Army. We're fighting in Helmand Province and around Kandahar; people don't seem to know that it's one of the toughest gig to get.For the Afghan soldiers too. Sometimes it's good to withdraw for a while and reorganise the troops. I hope my country (the voters) will allow our soldiers to continue.

Posted by: Claudia on March 25, 2009 10:15 AM

Claudia:

Possibly because not many people have ever HEARD of "Red Eye", and it's not watched by a lot.

I watch it on Saturday night, as they've got a repeat on, but I don't think to turn it on if I'm up that late (which is rare).

It is pretty funny. Usually. Do you have a link to what you're referring to?

Posted by: Unix-Jedi on March 25, 2009 10:22 AM

Claudia - I've never even heard of Red Eye.

Posted by: Denny on March 25, 2009 12:23 PM

Unix-Jedi -

Just Google: "Red Eye insults Canadian Army". You'll get plenty of articles with the reactions, Fox apologies to Canada, and the actual Red Eye video on YouTube titled: 'How to lose friends and alienate countries.'

Very appropriate with this post discussing Obama's faulty behaviour in Foreign Affairs. This time Fox is the culprit.

I never listen to that program either. But it was hard to miss the reactions. The Ugly American stereotype resurges everytime something like this happens. It was even worse because we lost 4 soldiers this week. Who knows? You might find the skit funny...Our governement calls it: "Crass and disgusting."

Posted by: Claudia on March 25, 2009 12:50 PM

Denny - Never heard of Red Eye either till the buffoon suggested it was time to invade my "ridiculous country with no army". Fox News apologised but still insists that it's just a "funny program". Not funny on the week we're welcoming four coffins from our "non-army".

Posted by: Claudia on March 25, 2009 01:04 PM

Except for the rare occasions that I visit some ones's house and the TV is on, I haven't watched the idiot box in close to twenty years, so most references to whatever is on the airwaves, cable or satellite stupidity go right over my head. I'm sure my health is much better for it.

Posted by: Inbred Redneck on March 26, 2009 09:43 AM

Same here, Inbred Redneck. I seldom watch TV because I don't trust most of what I see. But when there is an angry country wide reaction to what has been shown, I have to find out the source, and what's being done about it. I was hit with a wave of anti-americanism coming from Canadians ususally mild-tempered and indifferent. Their reaction was justified.

Posted by: Claudia on March 26, 2009 12:17 PM

Denny, may be a good time to rerun the "one flew over the cuckoo's nest" parody! I've never seen my government gone so insane...not even Carter was this freekin' "NUTS"!
