Bare Bottom My Ass

Oh wait! It's Bear Bottom. One of the runs I skied today.

It snowed all night last night. It snowed some this morning. By the time we got to the top of Elk Camp, it was snowing again. For all of you powder hounds, there was 6 to 8 inches of fresh powder. On top of that, there weren't many people skiing.

I used to hate powder until I (kinda) learned how to ski on it last year. I actually didn't do too badly. I even had fun when it got windy and snowy and visibility was bad. I remember skiing those conditions two years ago on a green slope and I was scared shitless. Not today. I had a great time even though I fell a lot. And why did I fall? Because I forced my turns. Ya don't do that in powder. Let it happen.

Skied Bear Bottom twice. Skied Naked lady once. One of my favorite runs but I've never skied it in powder. Finished off with Coffee Pot and Green Cabin. Would have done more, but I still ski slower in powder and I fall more. But, I am skiing powder a lot more aggressively than I did last year.

I blinked one of my contact lenses out on the second to last run. Since I was wearing goggles it fell into the bottom of them. I didn't want to mess with it until I got down off the mountain so I was skiing one-eyed. Got back to my room and sho' 'nuff it was right where I thought it would be. I've done that SCUBA diving as well.

Tomorrow, I get to play sled hockey.

Bear bottom is a good place to ski as long as you don't fall into the crack...

You're absolutely right Denny. There's nothing better than going down on Naked Lady.

You need to get prescription goggles and mask... they are not very expensive. Sounds like you had fun.

I'm scared, tired and sore just to hear you tell the story. But it must be fun, or you wouldn't do it...Are you having decent meals and wines?
