Posted by: DanS. on April 16, 2009 04:50 PMOh come on! You guys are no fun-
Where's the "...and they'll do it assets frozen or not..."
or "...and they'll do it...despite a in the white house..."
Posted by: wtf on April 16, 2009 08:34 PMGreat,
I'll send that to my elder son.
He served 4 of his 6 years on a "Boomer", USS Mighigan, SSBN 727, so I'll probably have to explain what a "fantail" is.
No son, it's not the name of a deisel/electric fleet boat from WWII.

Posted by: GreenMtnBoy on April 17, 2009 08:03 AMThat's RICH, Pete!
USS Fantail
I can only imagine wearing that on my shoulder in
Subic Bay ...
Naples ...
San Diego ...
Pearl ...
I'd rather wear a patch on my shoulder that says USS Fantail than one that says USS Jimmy Carter.
Posted by: Denny on April 17, 2009 03:23 PMTo wtf, describe your military experience.
Posted by: snafu on April 17, 2009 03:47 PMHe's a liberal, he probably doesn't have any!
Posted by: Gerald on April 18, 2009 01:10 AMDanS,
Thanks for the kudos.
Denny,
Would you believe the USS J.C. is a Seawolf class "attack" boat? It is one of the few ships in the USN named after a person that is still alive?
Just a little bit of embroidery can change the patch to USS Jimminy Cricket?
However I wouldn't let the name reflect on Her crew of brave men who went down to the sea in ships.

Posted by: Pete on April 18, 2009 01:15 AMPerhaps a new verse can be added to the Navy song, "Anchors Away."
Fire away, my boys,
Fire away.
Farewell to pirates now, we blast ‘em in the head, (hey, hey, hey),
Hanging oe’r fantails dark,
We rescue our own.
Liberals can go to hell
And take the pirates with them when they go.
