Here's a really kick ass band. Very underrated. They had two really good lead guitar players. In one of their videos, in the middle of their lead riffs, they switched guitars by throwing them in the air. The worst thing that ever happened to them was when some dumbass producer thought they should do rock ballads. Sister Christian? GMAFB! That was the beginning of the end.
Their keyboard player played with Sammy Haggar before this band was formed. Then after Night Ranger broke up he played keyboards offstage for Van Halen. Jesus H. Christ Eddie! If you're gonna have someone doing your keyboard parts, at least let him play onstage. Bon Jovi has their bass player (not an original member) play onstage. The Eagles let Don Felder's replacement play onstage. Eddie Van Halen is a great musician but he's a major league asshole!
Here's Night Ranger.
Let's Rock In America!
Posted by denny at May 17, 2009 12:00 AMThey are from Alameda, Ca. Used to play a bar called Webster's. Saw them there before they took off. Great band, and like military fans. A rarity for the bay area in those days.
Posted by: fubar on May 17, 2009 01:46 AMYou can still rock in America until it's deemed right wing extremism by that dike Napolitano. Ah yeah. All night!

Posted by: fubar on May 17, 2009 09:04 AMTheir song "Goodbye" was, is, & always will be one of my favorites. A masterpiece, IMHO. "Sentimental Street" ain't chopped liver, either.
Posted by: Sandy G. on May 17, 2009 09:51 AMSandy G, after seeing these two videos, I pulled out my Ipod and listened to the exact two you mentioned. I like some of the "rock" ballads. The only problem I had with Sister Christian is like everything else decent, it got played way too often.
Posted by: Ray on May 17, 2009 12:19 PMThese guys did a summer concert along side 'Loverboy', in The Dalles Oregon. My Dad was one of the coordinators and I got to meet both groups. I have two pictures of the bands, autographed by each member. Got to shake their hands. Cool guys. I suppose they couldn't really act uppity ass since they arent exactly playing Budokan, but they were real down to earth and awesome guys.

Posted by: LisaKay on May 17, 2009 05:54 PMA friend of mine played keyboards on tour for Yes... Under the stage.
Posted by: Rich on May 17, 2009 06:37 PMRich - I have a DVD of Yes, Live At Montrose, and I noticed some keyboard parts that Wakeman wasn't playing on And You And I. I thought they might have been pre-recorded and programmed in but it was prolly someone playing off (or under the) stage. I thought Yes would be above that sort of thing.
