Saturday Guitar

What could be more appropriate for the Saturday Guitar on the 4th of July than Chet Atkins playing The Stars and Stripes Forever?

Yannow, I think liberals must really hate the 4th of July. I mean that's when Americans really feel great about being Americans and just how great this country is and, as you know, liberals think that all the problems in the world are caused by America.

This is when we Americans are proud of our military and we all know how much liberals hate the military which in their minds consists of a bunch of baby killers.

There are gonna be a lot of Tea Parties today, and we all know how liberals feel about the Tea Parties. To them it's unpatriotic to want less taxes, less spending, and a smaller gummint.

4th of July is a really big holiday in the American heartland which liberals believe is populated by a bunch of dumb rubes. Some of it is. Like those who vote for rat bastard commies.

Imagine how the Founding Fathers of this country, those people who sacrificed everything to fight England because of excessive taxation would feel if they were to come back today and see the taxation we have to deal with and see how the gummint has grown?

We fought a war against excessive taxation and now we elect rat bastard commies who tax us at a higher rate than King George would even dream of.

Happy Birthday America! I wish us many more, but with the politicians we elect, who ignore the Constitution, who grow gummint, and who tax us to death, I see the Great American Experiment coming to an end. I'm glad I was alive to see us at the height of our greatness. I hope I die before I witness our great fall which has just begun.

Great music. Wonderfully played. I was marching aound the room, and saluting. Happy 4th of July to all of you.BozObama is going deeper in the hole everyday. It's the beginning of the end for him. Not for USA. Never!

Great post, Denny. Happy Fourth Of July to you, sir.

And you brought out the legend, Chet Atkins, on this festive day. Right on! I went on Youtube looking for something special to post, came back with Jimmy Hendrix at Woodstock. Didn't expect to consider that failure, but there it is...

As for the end of this experiment in democracy, we haven't seen the end of it. Take heart. The best is yet to come. Did it die after Jimmy Carter? Need I say more?

Watch the pendulum swing. I'm just saying that after Obama, that pendulum can't swing any further to the left.

God bless my neighbors to the south.

Not sure why I found this patriotic, but while with family for the 4th, we heard a rumbling from the pool and came out to stand by the road and watched probably 200-300 tractors drive by in a tractor "parade". This was out in the middle of nowhere at my brother's house - tractors pulling wagons with passengers, tractors on their own, fancy tractors with a/c, tractors so old they had to be among the first of their kind. I haven't seen anything in our local paper about it, so I don't know what it was about, but we watched and waved for half an hour. That may make us "dumb rubes" to libs, but those tractors represent the steel and sweat our country was built on. At least to me.

I went to the Northville, Michigan Tea Party on the 4th. One speaker was talking about how Congress wants to regulate CO2, which is something we all exhale. He paused, and I shouted, "Then tell Congress to hold their breath!" The crowd had a great reaction to that!

I estimate we had 1500 to 2000 people there. I saw one person post we only had 600-700, but he must have been counting near the end when many had left.

Remember the great Ronald Reagan quotation:

"Republicans think that every day is the 4th of July. Democrats think every day is April 15th."

Chet was a fellow ham and a great guy. Wish he was still around.

we all know how much liberals hate the military which in their minds consists of a bunch of baby killers.

??????

And yet they celebrate George Tiller?

Peggy - Dontcha know that liberals believe it's not a baby until it's completely out of the womb? If any of the baby is still inside it's a fetus and that's how they justify the barbaric practice known as a partial birth abortion. What has to be explained to me is how allowing a baby who survived a botched abortion to starve, which JHE and other liberals support, is not infanticide.

Ironic that liberals call soldiers baby killers when liberals advocate killing babies and kill more babies than soldiers do. We live in strange times.

Last month, the partial birth abortionist, Dr. Tiller, was killed (by a deranged mind) at church, during a Sunday service. I certainly didn't approve. Pro-life people had tried for years to bring him into court. I couldn't have one tear for him. I was too busy crying for all the babies he had killed with the liberals' approbation.

The liberals also cry, not for human babies, but for the 'poor baby' seals. The European Union has put a ban on Canadian seals products. And my Inuit friends, on Baffin Island are deprived of their early income. Hunting seals if their skill and also cultural heritage. What else can they do? I suggested, with irony, that they become politicians....

It's:Hunting seals IS their skill.....

I'm so incensed! I said it on 3 European blogs. Let's allow partial birth abortions. Let's kill human babies. But God forbids we go and kill poor baby seals! They're so cute....

Mmm. . . who can talk politics when Chet Atkins is playing guitar? I have that album. Awesome stuff.

Great post. One quibble: Whatever happened to calling it "Independence Day"? That's what we're celebrating, right? (Well, those of us who celebrate it at all, that is.)

Regardless, "happy birthday America" is a fine sentiment, no matter what you call the day.

My prayer for America: may we still have a country after the end of the Obama years.
