New Feature

Check out this new widget I installed. Simply highlight a piece of text and watch what happens. For example, highlight Social Security and watch what comes up. The neat thing is when you select an option from the widget it opens a new window or tab so you are able to stay on my page while you navigate to another. Kewl!

And if you add Smarter Fox it will enhance Wikipedia, among other neat features.

How annoying.

Cool and thanks for the HTML code TWAT® is official now.

Posted by: kerrcarto on August 25, 2009 06:27 PM

Disabled immediately via adblock.

What the hell were you thinking?

Posted by: annoyed on August 25, 2009 09:53 PM

annoyed, wth are you talking about. that is a cool feature. doubt i'll use it much, but it is cool. perhaps adblock needs some updating.

Posted by: Pip on August 25, 2009 10:15 PM

annoyed - It works with the adblocker I use.

Paul - If you don't like it, don't use it.

Heh heh.

Woa. Ted Kennedy dead.

Posted by: PeggyU on August 26, 2009 02:07 AM

Nice. Much better than the ones that auto-popup when you mouse over the text.

Posted by: stine on August 26, 2009 02:44 AM

Ted Kenn... ah crap. PeggyU beat me to it.

I'm expecting some rejoicing here although the man worked hard for the Democrats. He was an important element for their side.

My adblock doesn't do anything until I tell it to do something. I only block stuff that slows a page down.

However, my browser's main page is Google, so this won't be very useful to me. Good idea but I won't use it.

Cheers.

That's pretty neat. Though in using Firefox, I routinely highlight text and right click on it to bring up a menu that includes a Google search (actaully, a search on what ever engine I currently have in the menubar search window) option. So I doubt I'd particularly use it but that doesn't blunt my appreciation of the feature.

Denny provides more functionality at the same price! Woo hoo! USA! USA! USA!

gettin' warm Ted?

Posted by: patrick on August 26, 2009 10:25 AM

It's kinda cool but I gotta admit I'm not a fan of it. Fortunately, this feature is auto-blocked by NoScript unless you allow the smarterfox.com and googleapis.com domains. Who knows, though...maybe it'll grow on me.

I just tried to highlight the left nipple of the Saturday boobage chick and nothing happened. Maybe because it is an old post. Looking forward to next Saturday.

The moment Teddy died, his soul burst into flame.

I spoke ill of that piece of shit while he was alive, so I have no quams about speaking ill of him now that he's finally fucking dead.

That scumbag has done more damage to this country than ant polititian this country has had.

Just the change in the immigration laws alone (which is racist) has turned us into a 3rd world country.

Bye Ted, say hello to your brothers and the rest of your family down there for me.

Posted by: Willie on August 26, 2009 11:21 AM

I also use AdBlcokPlus and NoScript, and it totally blocks silly scripts from running (and I'm glad!).

And since we aren't supposed to speak ill of the dead, I'll just say this about Teddy Kennedy: I hear he was one helluva swimmer!

Swimmer floats into the Sunset!!!

When I heard of the Swimmer`s illness, I had posted my intent not to pile on while he was fighting the disease. Well, now he is gone to his reward...hopefully on a lifetime car ride with Mary Jo at the wheel.

I have no sorrow for his passing as he was a pompous BS Artist who used his wealth to buy his way out of a trial or conviction for the death of Mary Jo. As for his other excesses ....far to many to detail but at least they are now left for others to commit.

Politics? Ted was an ultra leftwing liberal Socialist who worked for the passage of much legislation we are now suffering under & will take generation`s to pay for. Do not forget he was the endorsee of Obama & shared his believe for socialized medicine under direct Government control.

How many remember Swimmer was the powerbroker for relaxation of our immigration policies which opened the borders to a flood of illegal immigrants from Mexico.Remember his pledge on his honor no such flood would ever take place.....his promise on his honor!.Also remember he was one of those who proposed forgiveness, social
security , Medical benefits & a fast track to citizenship for all these Illegals.

I have no sorrow for his passing nor compassion & certainly no fond remembrance for his time as a United States Senator....He screwed this country too many times for his Socialist agenda & personal gain.

I expect the good liberals from Massachusetts will think long & hard to determine who is now the most morally bankrupt Kennedy & vote to have he or she finish out Swimmer`s term.

God help us all for the follies of the voter`s in this country.

Dudley1 said "Remember his pledge on his honor..."

That pledge was worthless since the Floater had no honor.

On The Swimmer, just one comment. 1 down 99 to go.

What am I annoyed with?

It is not that such features are or are not useful, rather it is that such features should not be forced on me. I should not have to opt out to not get them, rather I should have to opt in to get them. Such features should be MY OPTION, i.e. something I installed in MY BROWSER, and not part of the page I download.

Posted by: annoyed on August 28, 2009 10:33 AM

Hey annoyed-
Don't fucking highlight it and it's not something you have to opt outta! If you highlight it then you fucking are opting into it. Ya know, that little thing in America called Freedom of Choice?

It's pretty simple short bus...

Posted by: CharlieDelta on August 30, 2009 02:51 AM

Sure it is, CharleDelta. Load up your own browser with whatever features you want. You don't understand my complaint at all, do you?
