Let Me Get This Straight

Woody sent me the following:

scare tactics.jpg

Let me get this straight.

We're going to pass a health care plan
written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it,
passed by a Congress that hasn't read it but exempts themselves from it,
signed by a president who also hasn't read it, and who smokes,
with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes,
overseen by a surgeon general who is obese, and
financed by a country that's nearly broke.

What possibly could go wrong?

Just relax, all of you. I don't know why you're so worried. In that system, you just need a bit of patience, that's all. Look at me, in Toronto. On October 15th, I'm finally getting the Persantine test I've been waiting for since last April. It's been tough going at times but I didn't die. This is if I make it to the 15th, and don't have to wait another 6 months for whatever treatment I will need, if any.

Of course, if I had been smart, I would have gone to Texas with all of you, this summer, and taken a detour to Houston for test and treatment.

In some cases, euthanasia would be a blessing.

Great post Denny - your words are worth a 1000 pictures!

I am your new robot doctor, assigned to you courtesy of Obama-Care. Please believe me when I tell you that we will give you care just as good as you received from your family doctor, who knew you for years. Rest assured that (click)nothing can go........(click)nothing can go......(click)nothing can go...................

Claudia- glad to know that you're finally getting you test and will be okay. We'd be lost without you.

What, you mean to say they're hypocrites? What a revelation! (rolls eyes)

Sort of like a vice president and president and waging war when one dodged the draft and the other had daddy to protect him?

By this logic no one would ever do anything because everyone is a hypocrite.

Nothing new in this at all.

"Sort of like a vice president and president and waging war when one dodged the draft and the other had daddy to protect him?"

That paragraph makes absolutely no sense. Want to try it again? This time in "literate".

Posted by: Rayvet on October 5, 2009 09:25 PM

wtf2 - You must be talking about Clinton/Gore. Clinton dodged the draft and Pope Albert spent four months in 'Nam as a correspondent for Stars and Stripes and was "in the rear with the gear" and had a bodyguard to boot.

"By this logic no one would ever do anything because everyone is a hypocrite." -wtf

wtf is proving logically that left wing morans cannot frame or understand logical arguments. His tongue-in-cheek (or foot-in-mouth) admission of his own hypocrisy completes his joke that he couldn't have written his own post unless he were clueless regarding the meaning of hypocrisy and projecting his own hypocrisy upon those around him, as liberals consistently will.

Thus, "everyone is a hypocrite" in rtf's demented context provides the logical proof that rtf is both a hypocrite and an illogical moran.

Nothing new in this at all.

May God spare us any reform of health care that would attract the votes of a majority of the Democrat cretins in Congress.

Okay, wtf, I'm glad you see the light about wars and those who haven't fought them. The fact that our Commander-in-Chief has never served in the military but thinks he knows how it works is another glaring example of how the man is totally un-qualified for any aspect of his job, other than paying off the cronies who got him elected.
I have no experience at graft and corruption, but I'm sure I could learn, if turned loose in Wash, DC.
How about we make me Dictator for a month or so, since I do have a little military experience, and would also be happy to sign an executive order that no money would be spent unless the House and Senate could cite the Article of the Constitution authorizing it? Maybe we could execute any lawmaker who voted anything other than "Present" on any bill that could result in material gain to himself, his family members, or campaign contributors.
Everybody gets so wrapped up in the Dem vs. Repub argument, but that's no different than debating whether a zebra is black with white stripes or white with black stripes. A rotten politician is a rotten politician, and be it zebra, Dem or Repub we're the ones at the back end of the circus parade with the shovel and broom, cleanin' up all the $hit.

Well said, both Denny and Inbredredneck.

Okay, I'm going to wade into something that I am unqualified to weigh into: the war.

I never served. The draft was suspended as I had to register; the military went all volunteer when I came of age. A month before I graduated, Saigon fell. The next year, the elected C-in-C became Jimmy Carter.

Join at that point, my ass.

But I know who butters my bread, and who has protected my freedoms and liberties better than any tin-pot pompous idiot in the halls of Congress: the men and women of our US Military.

Granted, a civilian who never served could be a fair C-in-C, long as he/she possesses the wisdom and reason to listen and pay heed to good advisers, and history. And not all folks who have served in the military, whatever their service, are qualified to become political leaders.

Al Gore, Jimmy Carter and John F***ing Kerry are three cases in point.

The last general who actually had what it takes to command, and be president, was Dwight Eisenhower. His kind are incredibly -- and sadly -- few and far between.

As for wtf, liberal moron unextrodinaire...he undercut his entire ideology, by the simple exercise of opening his mouth here.

Wolfdog stole my thunder. excellent work by both you boys.

Posted by: patrick on October 6, 2009 04:39 PM

Skunkfeathers- you got it. It's been a long, downhill slide since Ike. Sure wish there was another one like him on the horizon, but the closest I can see is Stormin' Norman and he's too smart to get involved in politics.
I just know that it'd take a willing suspension of dis-belief on my part to want to trust any of the current crop of politicians or PC-generation generals.

Wolfdog and Patrick- thanks for the kudos, but Denny's the one who can day-in and day-out put up the words and make available the space for the rest of us to loose our mutterings on the world and this captive audience. ;^)

Denny- thanks for providing this forum, and having the patience to put up with us.

I'm going to try and move overseas and teach English. I have a lot of friends who've done this, and they all share the same thoughts about it: why in the fuck did I stay in the U.S. so long?

Sorry fellas. But big money and big government sank this country. China will fill the vacuum once the US disintegrates entirely.

Make sure to send a thank you note to Washington, D.C. We had everything, a perfect nation, and we let those whores in D.C. piss it all away.

...some great back-n-forths here, but whats really been the mind bender for me in the whole debate over health care reform (and the stimulus bill) is the fact that our reps in the Congress/Senate admit they haven't read it, can't read it, or won't read it, did not write it, apparently we have third party unknowns writing legislation now, and a leftwing nutjob in the whitehouse and these idiots rush to sign off on the pig! Now who's to say that somewhere down the road(4 years can be an eternity) that these dope's wont sign off on another 1200 page bill, not knowing whats really in it, and low and behold, we no longer have the right to vote, and Obama's president for life, or the Constitutions been revoked(they already use it for toilet paper)
and so on and so forth. It's like the plot of a horrific thriller movie! This isn't America, its North Venezuela! I want to wake up, I don't like this nightmare anymore!

Marksman, I've primarily worked for European companies throughout my career. As a result, I've become quite close with a great number of foreigners. The majority of these people will gladly tell you that America is the greatest place in the world. They will tell you we have more freedom and better standard of living. Many of them that are sent here for work assignments apply for green cards because they don't want to leave the USA. Even those that are just visiting will tell you that this is their favorite place to visit.

I've traveled extensively abroad and will confess that although there are many places that I have enjoyed visiting, I have yet to find another country where I would choose to live. Have you ever been to India or China? I'm quite proud to be an American. Although it's far from perfect, I will never give up on America.

Steve S., my point was that the U.S. you and your associates identify with is not going to be the U.S. of the future. Things are changing. And I believe we must get back to the basics of what made this the strongest country in the world. Sending jobs overseas, amassing ridiculous debt, and subscribing to socialist ideologies is not what made us the envy of world history. We're in a decline, no doubt. And Obama and company ARE NOT the ones who will lift us out of it. Honestly, at this point, if we don't band together and start making intelligent decisions about who writes national policies, I don't know if we can break from this dive.

Let's pray viable options emerge before 2012.
