Today is one of those beautiful Autumn days that we have in North Georgia this time of year. The overnight low was in the mid 40's and the high this afternoon will be in the mid 60's. There is not a cloud in the sky and it is this beautiful Carolina blue.
Back when I was taking flying lessons, I loved days like today, especially, if I flew early in the morning before the winds aloft picked up. One of my solos was on a Saturday morning just like this morning. I had a double time slot so I was able to fly for almost three hours. It was an awesome solo!
This afternoon, I went out and worked on my raised beds where I plant my veggies every year. I have four beds. I use three for planting and one for composting. I have my yard dude put all of my yard waste in my compost bed. I use the yard waste for mulching. I hate weeding.
Today, I pulled up the dead veggie plants and I covered all three of the veggie beds with the overflow from my compost heap. This year, I should have enough mulch in each bed that there should be no weeds growing in them over the winter. I've been doing the mulching and rotation for ten years now. Every year my topsoil gets better. Every year I see more and more worms.
I don't live in Atlanta. I live in Beautiful Dunwoody. Beautiful Dunwoody is reliably conservative. After all, we're all a bunch of white racist SRFİ's who want the poor and the old people to starve.
So even though I don't live in Atlanta, I enjoy watching Atlanta politics. In Atlanta, all politics is racial. We're the home of MLK and his money grubbing children who are trying to cash in on his legacy every chance they get. They're mostly a bunch of lazy parasites. They even fight amongst themselves, which is very entertaining.
So, since Atlanta politics is racial, the current election for mayor is very entertaining. Ya see, a white person, Mary Norwood is ahead in the polls. A few months back, some black professors at an Atlanta college circulated a memo saying that the black community needed to get behind one candidate and the other black candidates needed to drop out to ensure that Mary Norwood didn't get elected. Of course this wasn't racist. Blacks can't be racists. Only whites can be racists.
Just recently the current meme is that Mary Norwood is the R word.
The R word? What is that? Racist?
Nope. Her black opponents are accusing her of being a closet Republican. It turns out that there is only one thing worse than being a racist. It's being a Republican. Norwood did vote in a few Republican primaries, so maybe she does lean that way.
The election results today should be interesting. Hoffman has a good chance in NY 23. The "Republican" Dede Scuzzyfava, after taking almost a million from the RNC, dropped out and is now supporting the Dimocrat. Hey RNC! Do you see what supporting RINO's gets you?
For Christie to win in New Jersey, he needs to win by at least 10,000 votes. The Dims can easily find thousands of dead people to vote. Did ya ever notice, that every time there is a recount, the Dims always find additional votes? How does that work? It's a shame we don't have a watchdog media to expose this voter fraud. Instead, they enable it.
And McDonnell should win in Virginia.
It's been a really beautiful day. Hopefully, tonight will be beautiful as well.
Posted by denny at November 3, 2009 02:14 PMI've been following the Atlanta mayor "race." There is no way that Mary Norwood wins.
She is simply the wrong color.
That's how so many black people get into office. The politcians do all that gerrymandering so the blacks get to vote for blacks, jews for jews, etc.
Blacks vote the color of the skin 95% of the time.
My congresscritter is Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.
Because of how my district is laid out, (screwy) she always runs unopposed. Only old white jews vote in my district. (and me)
Posted by: Willie on November 3, 2009 03:30 PMIf Norwood wins, I would think that there is a good possibility that there are riots in Downtown Atlanta.
Posted by: Bill on November 3, 2009 04:34 PMI voted McBollinelli. Let's get a clean sweep!
Posted by: Mo K. on November 3, 2009 06:33 PMDonno 'bout up 'ere in Jawja, but just like last night, we gots one beautiful moon comin up over the pines and shinin down thru some clean, clear, crisp fall air here in Pensabama.
Last nite 'round midnight I went out onto the patio to call my dog back in and felt as if I'd walked onto a stage the light was so bright from la lune.
Posted by: Ron on November 3, 2009 07:11 PMDenny, it is the same here. Beautiful sunny days in the 70's and nice chili nights.

Posted by: Sandy G. on November 3, 2009 08:22 PMVA is in, and the Republican stomped the crap out of the Dem.
Right now, Christie(R) is up 25K to Corzine(D) 20K.
I expect that Hannity will have a big smile on his face when I turn the TV on in 15 mins.
As Bill said, it's a beautiful night here in the Commonwealth of Virginia...the R's (real R's, not RINOs) are running the table and stomping the Donks by 2:1 margins.
Of course, the Teleprompter Messiah's mouthpiece will downplay these results as being irrelevant, unimportant, not indicative of what the country wants, etc., etc. Had the outcome gone the other way, they would be crowing about it for months. F'ing hypocrites.
Posted by: Grumpy Old Ham on November 3, 2009 09:21 PMIt's a Republican sweep in VA--woo hoo! Finally, at least 1 state is back on the right path!
Posted by: John on November 3, 2009 10:53 PM"[N]ice chili nights." Only a Texan would come up with something like that. I love it.
Posted by: Erica on November 3, 2009 11:37 PMHoly shit my vote worked!!!
A very happy Jersey boy. ;-)
Here in Old Virginie Republicans stomped the Demoncrats in a most meaningful way. The top three (Gov., Lt. Gov., AG) won with an 18 point spread. Talk about a bitch slappin'. Also widened the majority in the House of Delegates by 5. Senate doesn't came up until 2011.
Posted by: Ric on November 4, 2009 10:16 AMElection Result`s .....While the Lame Stream media still tries to excuse the result`s as of no consequence.....AOL Polling results show 69% of people who voted & responded to their poll said ....It was Obama who most influenced their votes, it looks like the Obama enthusiasm has wilted! So-called Moderate Democrat`s who wish to be re-elected next year must be very careful of how they vote ......No more Liberal Socialist BS or else!
