Another Triumph For Socialism

It's happening in Venezuela. Link from Fausta who calls it "To the bathroom with a flashlight in Caracas".

Water and power rationing

CARACAS -- Compulsory cuts in water supplies began Monday in this city and other areas of Venezuela, leaving residents and businesses with little choice but to do without for periods of up to 48 hours at a stretch. The objective of all this is to slash consumption by 20% because water is in short supply.

Of course it's the rich capitalists' fault.

The cause of the shortages is a matter of dispute. For President Hugo Chavez, who's now in his tenth year in power, the root problem lies in the shortcomings of capitalism. "With what do they fill the swimming pools of the rich?" he recently demanded to know. "With the water that they deny to the poor barrios. This is the capitalism of the lack of feelings, the lack of humanity."

Actually, I think it's Chimpy McHalliburton Bushitler's fault.

Hey Hugo, socialism has killed more people than capitalism. See Mao and Stalin who killed their own citizens to create their socialist utopias.

But it's not just water, it's power as well.

But the problem isn't just water but electricity, too. This is an important consideration given that electricity is used to pump water from street level to water tanks on the roofs of apartment and office blocks.

While a program of power cuts apparently isn't officially on the cards -- or at least not yet -- Chavez has decreed into existence a new Electric Energy Ministry to oversee austerity measures. These will include measures to cut consumption including, it's said, a supposedly much less glitzy line in what's permitted in the way of street decorations during the approaching festive season.

All that oil to burn and there is an energy shortage? We've seen it over and over in every country that has adopted Marxist style socialism. Socialism = rationing. Yet we still have people like Hugo Chavez (and Speaker Blinky, Henry "Nostrils" Waxman, Thunder Rodent Thighs, Jug Hussein Ears, Babs Boxer, et.al) who thinks this time he can make it work. Meanwhile, he is turning his country into an economic basket case like Mugabe's Zimbabwe and Castro's Cuba. WTF is wrong with these people that they can see epic failure where ever this bullshit has been tried, yet they keep on trying it? It must be some sort of mental illness.

This is the future of the United States if we let JHE and the Dims have their way with their radical socialist agenda. Crap and Tax will drive up energy prices and will cost jobs and create electricity shortages. Wind and solar can not pick up the slack. The sun doesn't always shine and the wind doesn't always blow (but the environmentalist wackos always suck).

Pelosicare will result in rationing. Make no mistake. Speaker Blinky, Harry Reid, and JHE want single payer, gummint run health care. That is their eventual goal. The "public option" is the proverbial camel's nose under the tent. Medicare and Medicaid are broke and the Dims' solution is to extend those programs to everyone. Makes perfect sense to me.

Look at Zimbabwe. Look at Cuba. Look at the old USSR. Look at Venezuela. Epic failures of socialism. This is what the Dims want to implement here.

Socialists/communists are easy to spot. They are the power hungry narcissists.

They all share these two traits.

Jug Ears is the epitomy of a power hungry narcissist. He and the other liberals do not give a shit about anything they preach.

Education isn't about what is best for the kids, it is using our money to pay the teachers so they vote for dems.

You name the cause and it always comes down to a power grab and narcissism.

The problem is these people are truly souless and dangerous. They do not care if others suffer and die. And yes, it can happen here. As a matter of fact, it is happening here.

The last point: "Liberalism is a mental disorder" - M. Savage

must be some sort of mental illness.

Yep! And that calls to mind Ron White's "You Cain't Fix Stupid."

Why, why, why the hell don't all the socialists who live here relocate to Venezuela to show them how it should be done, if they think they've got the answers?

Don't forget the most memorable socialists of all, the N.S.D.A.P. The National Socialist German Workers Party or Nazi party to us...

I'd pay good money to sit down for ten minutes and let those morons Sean Penn and Danny Glover rationalize this in their pea size brains.

The power hungry and their useful idiots.

We do not have this kind of problems in France or Germany. Nevertheless, we're just a bunch of commies. Iceland's economy collapsed last year. Nevertheless, they were the seventh most productive country in the world, with a "strong" capitalistic bank system.

Maybe things are a little more complicated?

Prosper.....

France is stable...Give me a break, your country`s Government has fallen so many time`s, most Government inter-office memo`s are addressed to whom it may concern! What Republic are you now under? Is it as the current Constitution of the Fifth Republic defines? When the troll`s decide to riot.....will it be the Sixth Republic with yet another Constitution? If it is the Muslim`s who riot ....will it be the first French Emirate with Islamic edict`s as issued by some stinkbeard living in a tent?

You are in a period of relative stability ...rare for France , Enjoy it while you can? Given the shaky ground the French Governmental Structure has displayed down through the year`s with replacement Republics , Constitution`s & leadership, let alone an ability to defend yourselves.....I do not think you are to wise throwing stone`s around at the United Stares who is still in their first Republic under it`s original constitution.

Prosper - I know English is not your primary language so I guess you can be excused for your lack of reading comprehension. In the post, I referred to Venezuela's brand of socialism as Marxist socialism. France and the rest of Europe have not reached that stage yet. You'll prolly be living under an Islamic theocracy before you get as bad as Venezuela, Zimbabwe, Cuba, or the old USSR and its satellite states in Eastern Europe.

Unfortunately, Marxist style socialism is what Speaker Blinky, Thunder Rodent Thighs, and Jug Hussein Ears want to impose on us. It failed in Cuba. It failed in the USSR. It's failing in Zimbabwe and Venezuela.

Yeah that DOES make sense...
It must be hard to always play this ultra-right-wacko-style kind of melodrama.

I am a US citizen and engineer. I have worked in China in the electronics industry since the mid-90s. Lived in HK. Lived in Shenzhen.

The Chinese were easy to compete with when the factories were state owned.

Nothing quite as stupid as running things by committee and a central planning committee is truly non-competative.

Once the Chinese government allowed the masses to own businesses, wow. The masses were all over the possiblitity that through hard work they could better their own lot in life.

It definately is not the same China it used to be - even fifteen years ago.

Now as I talk to my employees in China, they are truely puzzled why the greatest country in the modern world would want to move towards the failed policies of socialism that their own communist government is moving away from.
