Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama's declining support is that just 50% of voters now say they prefer having him as President to George W. Bush, with 44% saying they'd rather have his predecessor. Given the horrendous approval ratings Bush showed during his final term that's somewhat of a surprise and an indication that voters are increasingly placing the blame on Obama for the country's difficulties instead of giving him space because of the tough situation he inherited. The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore, which is good news generally for Republicans and especially ones like Rob Portman who are running for office and have close ties to the former President.

A local poll found that 44 percent of Norwegians believe it was rude of Obama to nix his scheduled lunch with King Harald, with only 34 percent responding that they believe it was okay.

I can forgive the Chicago community organiser for not knowing anything about European protocol, diplomacy, traditions and formality, having spent most of his adult life hanging with various ne'er do wells and ward heelers, and where formal attire means adding another chunk of tasteless bling round the neck.
However, he does have a State Department that is (or should be) well versed in all this protocol and formality, and presumably advise him on how to act in unfamiliar circumstances when confronted with formal occasions.
Two options. He either chose to ignore the polite acceptance of the required protocols either through deliberate ignorance or sheer contempt.
Either way, he has managed to offend a lot of people needlessly.
Remember when His Holy Highness, Barak the Firstest gave the Queen of England- A VERY nice lady & a stalwart supporter of America that cheesy gift of DVDs...An' I don't think they even would work in England, anyhow ? The guy is just simply low-rent, & no-class...The Queen is a life-long horsewoman, give her a fancy saddle or bridle...The damn DVDs prolly weren't even made here anyway...
