Send Them To School

Yannow the congresscritters take an oath to protect and defend the Constitution. Donthca think that they oughta know what is in the Constitution? Me too. This dude does as well.

From here via Boortz.

Republican or Dimocrat, if you are a congresscritter, you should know the Constitution.

The Founders did the best they could. They thought they had included enough checks and balances to prevent the huge runaway federal gummint we have today. Alas, they were wrong. Even John Adams, who believed in a powerful federal gummint would be appalled. Thomas Jefferson, who believed that most power should be devolved to the states would be even more appalled that the Dimocrat Party claimed him as one of its own. Two things (among many others) they should have included.

1. Any law passed should show in the Constitution where that law is allowed.

2. Congress shall not be exempt from any laws passed.

Yeah. There are many more restrictions that should have been in the Constitution. They did the best they could.

Franklin was asked after the Constitution Convention what they had produced. He replied, "A Republic, if you can keep it." Sadly, the Republic is on its last legs.

Thank you for sharing. It is so simple but so many dont take the time to learn it. Countless lives were lost over defending it.

Denny.....
It is refreshing to see a citizen who does know the constitution , it is appalling to see an elected official who does not.

The problem is Congress & the Senate are populated by more then a few who do not know the Constitution & a majority who do but either do not care or are actively trying to destroy it.

It is further sad when no one at that meeting gave this citizen a standing ovation or that the chairman of the meeting did not commend this gentleman for the wisdom he displayed instead of trying to shove it under the rug & move on instead of adding an official reprimand for the lack of understanding of the elected official.

If I can go Proverbial on the congress"man"

Proverbs 28:

1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
5 Evil men understand not judgment:

It really chapped my hide to see the congressman get upset by saying "maybe we need a moderator" - the whole thing is "WE THE PEOPLE" have become irrelevant to them. An annoyance to them. A hindrance to them.

As long as ACORN isn't doing the elections we can still vote them out.

The English Bill of Rights is a better document.

People can read it at this link

http://avalon.law.yale.edu/17th_century/england.asp

"That it is the right of the subjects to petition the king, and all commitments and prosecutions for such petitioning are illegal;

That the raising or keeping a standing army within the kingdom in time of peace, unless it be with consent of Parliament, is against law;

That the subjects which are Protestants may have arms for their defence suitable to their conditions and as allowed by law;

That election of members of Parliament ought to be free;

That the freedom of speech and debates or proceedings in Parliament ought not to be impeached or questioned in any court or place out of Parliament;

That excessive bail ought not to be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted;

That jurors ought to be duly impanelled and returned, and jurors which pass upon men in trials for high treason ought to be freeholders;

That all grants and promises of fines and forfeitures of particular persons before conviction are illegal and void;

And that for redress of all grievances, and for the amending, strengthening and preserving of the laws, Parliaments ought to be held frequently."

Aristotle wrote: Republics decline into democracies, and democracies degenerate into tyrannies.

This republic declined into a democracy under Woodrow Wilson (direct election of senators, the Federal Reserve, the income tax) and now is in the final stages of degenerating into a tyranny.

Funny how wise some of those old Greeks were...

Where in the Constitution is a law allowed?

If I were in Congress I'd make a rubber stamp that said "Commerce Clause." Take that to the Supreme Court!
