Funny Video

Ron sent me the link to the following video.

Like I said when NBC called it for Walker, Schultz lost his bluster and Madcow lost her smirk. It was a great sight to see.

Quit keepin track of the times I taught Hamlet after the 40th. This particular quote seems most apt here:

There's letters seal'd: and my two schoolfellows,
Whom I will trust as I will adders fang'd,
They bear the mandate; they must sweep my way
And marshal me to knavery. Let it work;
For 'tis the sport to have the enginer
Hoist with his own petar; and 't shall go hard
But I will delve one yard below their mines
And blow them at the moon: O, 'tis most sweet,
When in one line two crafts directly meet.

bocopro - I was unaware that "hoist with his own petar(d)" originated with Shakespeare. And then delving further, I find that a petard was a small bomb used to blow up walls and gates and the name comes from "peter" a Middle French word for farting.

My grandmother, a very religious woman who spoke every morning to Jesus and then to her flowers, liked to quote from the Bible. Problem was that she didn’t read particularly well (a Campbell from Kentucky, born in the 19th century) and relied heavily upon aphorisms, homilies, and proverbs as she heard them from others, such as preachers.

One of her favorite expressions was “costly thy habit as thy purse can buy, for the clothes oft make the man” which is by Polonius in Hamlet. Another was "This above all: to thine own self be true," again from Polonius in his advice to Laertes who was going off to France to dip his wick or something. And of course there was "Neither a borrower nor a lender be,” same speech.

She dropped sayings from Sophocles, Aristotle, Plato, Blake, Milton, and several others until one day her youngest daughter, my aunt Jackie (who had a PhD in psychology) finally told her, “Mom, that’s not Biblical; it’s from Shakespeare,” when she said to someone, "The devil can cite scripture for his purpose," which is from Merchant of Venice.

Mom (I called her that ‘cause she was raising me and everybody else called her that) was mortified that those beautiful expressions to which she ascribed such holy origins were by guys who wrote poetry. I think she knew who Shakespeare was but believed that he stole all those marvelous pearls of wisdom from the Bible.

Wisconsin update, The death of government Unions.......

Charles Krauthammer wrote a column on 6/7/2012 about the major fallout of this battle. The new law as instituted in Wisconsin ended mandatory government collection of Union Dues from Government Union employees paychecks for the Unions. In less then one year AFSCME has lost more then 50% of its membership.

In the state of Indiana where Mitch Daniels by executive order instituted the same policy 7 years ago ...The government unions have lost 91% of their membership.
Now before Union sympathizers & thugs get their panties in a wad ....workers can still belong to the Union "IF THEY WANT TOO" but mandatory confiscation is finished. So if union membership is really in the best interests of prospective & current members , they will have to actually provide a service which will attract & hold members at least in Indiana & Wisconsin.

Union leadership got it right ...this is all about their survival & keeping a monopoly on the dues structure use for political support of the democratic party. They are terrified & running scared knowing the free ride is coming to an end ....the bloated salaries & pensions are going to disappear & most probably so will the dictatorial power of the unions over government operations.

Obama`s economy has an unintended international consequence.....

The Nobel committee has announced in response to the sorry state of the economy they are forced to cut the value of the Nobel Prize awards by 20%.
Well, I have a better idea .....keep the Nobel Prizes under wraps & do not award any until the economy improves or at least for this year. If they do this they will be able to leave the amount of "Cracker Jack`s" you receive in the box alone.

Actually they are going to reduce the monetary awards from 1.4 million to around 1.1 million.....still a tidy sum for doing nothing but being a freaking liberal socialist traitor to freedom.
