Rex And Dave

As y'all know I got me some new trolls. Rex seems to be obsessed with my sex life as he seems to make the same comment over and over again about me not getting laid. Rex, can't you come up with sumpin' other than that? You cannot make Asshole of the Week doing the same old tired comment over and over. Why not sumpin' else like if your weenie were two inches shorter you would have a scab on the back of your ass. C'mon! My readers want my trolls to be entertaining. Think up some other insults. Make them original. Make them funny. You want my readers to laugh at me. What you're doing is making my readers laugh at you and when they read your pitiful comments they don't know whether to laugh at you or feel sorry for you because you are such a loser.

I'm beginning to think that you are really Rat Turd. Rex, you don't have much of a life do you?

Then we have Dave who has his own obsession. Just like Lois Lane is always trying to prove that Clark Kent is Superman, Dave is constantly trying to prove that I am Topeka Troll. I would think that Dave is Jane, but she knows that TT and I are two separate people. She is, after all, the person who gave Topeka Troll, Judgejerry in my comments, the name Topeka Troll.

Amy King Is An Idiot

The latest Fax From Babs was a 10 minute knockoff so I have time to address a commment written by one Amy King. She is a typical barking moonbat from the left who resorts to namecalling rather than making any salient points. It's obvious that she hasn't read much of what I write since she has called me misogynist and racist. I will just call her ignorant and stupid. Let's examine what she wrote.

It's so nice to see the ancient southern mentality of misogyny (that's woman hating) and ignorance (that's being uninformed) of politics still thrives. Women you write about on your blog: the ones you hate and the ones you want to f-ck. Yeah.

Well, first of all, I did not grow up in the South. I have only lived here 20 of my 58 years. Amy could have found that out had she bothered to read the FAQ I have posted over on the left sidebar, but like most liberals, she is either too lazy or too stupid, to get her facts straight. It is so much easier to resort to insults. Do I hate women? I have met many women bloggers and I guess they could answer that. Y'see Amy, one of the devices I use on this site is sumpin' foreign to you. It is called humor. Do I think Jessica Simpson is stupid? Not really. She's parlayed her dumb blond act into a nice career. I also defy you to find even one time, on this site, that I have said that I want to fuck someone. I don't even say that on my Saturday boobage pictures.

But I do hate some women. I hate Jane Fonda, not because she is a woman, but because she is a traitor. When she returned from North Viet Nam she should have been arrested, tried for treason, and executed. Yeah. I despise Jane Fonda.

I hate Hillary Clinton also. I don't hate her because she is a woman. I hate her because she is a socialist. I hate her because of all the lives she has destroyed. I hate her because she is a liar. I hate her because she is corrupt. I hate her because she is a danger to this country. I hate her for playing the victim. She is the "smartest woman in the world" and she claims that she didn't know that her husband was getting his pole licked by an airhead intern, in his office, while she was also in the White House. And you want this woman as president? You want someone that incredibly stupid as to not know her husband, with all his history, was cheating on her? And you call me stupid?

And if I hate woman so much, why do I write nice things about many of them, including my sister? Why do I admire Condi Rice and Laura Bush? Why do I like so many women bloggers. I guess it's because I want to fuck them. OK gals, you've been warned by Amy. Watch out at the next blogmeet.

And you might as well just post 'black folk' pictures with less thinly-veiled terms like "bats," and just go ahead and call 'em whatever it is you really do. When I was growing up it was "coons". For your information Amy, I went to an integrated high school. Like I said, I did not grow up in the South. If I would have used the words "nigger" or "coon" around my house, my parents would have slapped me into the middle of next week. The NAACP opposes vouchers while the black community supports them. Let's keep them in failing schools. Who? Are? The? Racists?

In the end, three honorable Republican senators told Nixon to resign. The Dimocrats did not have three honorable senators.

BUT it's very telling that some southern minds put so much fervor into bashing and belittling Hillary Clinton. That means she's one of the few women who is a real threat. You should be worried and continue to spend your time making stupid useless photos of her. That's all you can do. And weep.

There was a comment posted on my latest Molly Ivins fisk by some booger eatin' moh-ron named Peter. It was so inane that I decided to share it with all of my readers. There are times that I think I should give out an award just for dickheads like Peter. Mabybe I could name it the Maroon Award. Or perhaps name it the Booger Eatin' Moh-ron Award.

Peter is not a native English speaker and as such there will be grammatical and spelling errors. I don't hold that against him. I admire him for being able to communicate in more than one language. The sad thing is that he doesn't have anything worth communicating.

So, without further ado, here's Peter's comment with commentary by me.

Well well, you should watch Star Wars 3, maybe you would learn why hate only creates hate, how all of you are frightened by mass media to make you agree with the war for "the republic".

First off, we are not fighting a war for "the republic". We are fighting a war against dirtbag Islamic sheetheads who are members of a religion mired in the 7th Century. We had two pussy presidents, Carter and Clinton, who appeared weak to Osama bin Laden. Carter was totally inept in the Iranian hostage crisis and so was the "international community". That's one reason we cannot depend upon the "international community" to help us fight terrorism. Clinton was more interested in getting blowjobs than in being commander-in-chief. I will also fault Reagan for cutting and running after the Marine barracks was blown up in Beirut.

We Got Us A Troll

One of the things I enjoy doing with trolls is editing their comments. It drives them crazy. Unfortunately, I shouldn't have edited the first three comments of my latest troll, some fuckwit who calls himself MeowMix, which one of my readers pointed out is the first stage of catshit. Addison told me that I should have left his original comments stand because he, Addison (the other one), and xCavTrooper bitchslapped him much better than I could ever hope to. Hey Addison, how would you like to write a post a week for this site? The offer is also open to Addison (the other one) and xCavTrooper. They all know how to debate lucidly and use facts to back up their arguments. I will post at the end of this entry three excellent comments.

Facts. They are annoying little things aren't they? That's why liberals usually lose arguments and have to resort to name calling when facts are involved. Like the talking point about how many jobs have been lost during the Bush administration. I addressed it in an earlier post by going to the Department of Labor's web site and actually looking at the statistics. Addison did also and the links will be posted later in this post. With the internet and Google it's amazing all the neat stuff you can find out. It's a shame the lamestrem media is too lazy or too biased to do that.

MeowMix, Your other "points" have been refuted time and time again. Educational spending, enviromental impact, jobs lost, etc... We have already spent quite a bit of time refuting trolls who seem to always follow the same pattern:

1) Wake up, decide that their DU handbook and massive ego are enough to convince the evil right-wingers of the error of their ways

2) Locate GOC's site, skim last topic

3) State latest leftist talking points as 'facts', fail to follow up with sources or numbers.

If you want to be taken seriously, first, read the FAQ for the site. Then, bring up actual facts and attributations with your claims. Treat everyone else with respect, and you will also be respected. Respond to the rebuttals of your points with more facts and polite arguments.

Fine. I thought it was self-evident that you are a troll by the seemingly breathless and exasperated run-on sentence non-period-using style of your post.

I'll elaborate:

1) The President cut $200 million from his own No Child Left Behind Act

That is not true. The $200 million was from a program called "Impact Aid", not No Child Left Behind. Impact Aid falls under military housing and facilities. It seems odd given the 2004 budget had the following in it:

1. Military Personnel - $98.6 billion (6 percent increase)


2. Operations & Maintenance - $117.0 billion (3 percent increase)


3. Military Construction - $5.0 billion (21 percent decrease)


4. Housing - $4.0 billion (5 percent decrease)

It looks more like disinformation than an actual event (looked through seven pages of Google results and found no links to pages other than ones simply asserting this as though it were fact). I am looking at an article by a "Ron Edmonds" that states that "military family housing and medical facilities" funding was cut by $1.5 billion. However, when I look at the 2004 bill highlights (link), it points out pay raises from 2 - 6.25%, a reduction in out-of-pocket expensives for private housing from 3.5 - 7.5% and the above noted increases in spending in exactly the places where there were supposedly cuts. The 2005 bill (link) gets an additional $200 million in family housing and $400 million more in family housing construction.

When searching for "military family housing" + "1.5 billion", the links all go to self-referential Leftwing sites (link) with no external links to an actual government report or bill. The story exists within a microcosm of the political spectrum (the fringe Left) but damned if I could find a link to reality where the story was true. What it looks like is the reduction was something perhaps proposed that never went into affect--and even then, had nothing to do with No Child Left Behind. If it the $1.5 billion cut did happen, it looks as though it was quickly remedied.

What I did find concerning education was:

1. A GAO study from May 2003 found that Congress is providing more than enough money for states to design and implement the statewide achievement tests required under No Child Left Behind. The report also shows education reform opponents are exaggerating estimates of NCLB's state testing costs by as much as $5.1 billion between fiscal years 2002 and 2008. (link)


2. 2000 Education Spending: $38,447,366,000
   2004 Education Spending: $63,270,657,000 (link)

Education seems well funded. I would not criticize an increase in spending of 64.6% in four years if federal undercutting of education is your concern.

2) The Bush Administration's regressive environmental policies have lowered cleanliness standards for our air and water.

A link would be helpful to an EPA report or the like.

Went over to the EPA's site and found the "Draft Report on the Environment" (link) and found reports, under the listings "Cleaner Air, Purer Water, Better Protected Land, Human Health, and Ecological Condition" that everything is on the, shall we say, up and up. Some of their data only goes to 2002 but I have a suspicion that were the environment in the midst of a downturn, they might have chosen to mention it on their--what was your term?--"main page". Looking through six months of news headlines (link) did not show anything noteworthy (e.g., "Environment doomed, minorities and women hit hardest).

3) The Bush Administration's Patriot Act threatens our constitutional rights and civil liberties.

An example would be nice. Platitudes are not arguments. First, supply an example of exactly where constitutional rights and civil liberties are "threatened" and an example of their being violated. I have a sneaking suspicion that not one case exists, as I have yet to see one (and I've been looking) in two years. The DoJ even has a Question and Answer section that addresses such hysteria (link)

4) Bush's Tax Cuts only benefit the rich

They benefit anyone who pays income taxes, as they went to everyone who paid income taxes. That the rich are able to retain a larger quantitative amount of money than you or I is immaterial, as they put significantly more money in, as they earn more. I am in the next to lowest income tax bracket and I noticed the tax cut. I'm not rich but I benefitted, ergo your argument is bunk. I know people who opened IRA accounts with their tax refund and they make in the mid-$50,000; they are, by few people's definition, rich. Yet, oddly enough, they benefitted from the tax cut.

5) ...3.3 million jobs (93,000 in August of 2003 alone) have been lost since Bush took office...

The employment in December of 2000 was 135,836,000 (link). In February 2004, it was 138,301,000 (link). One thing that stands as odd is that the talking point now is "number of jobs", not unemployment rate. The unemployment rate is currently 5.5% (link) and was 5.6% when Bill Clinton began campaigning for his second term--CNN noted that the unemployment rate was dropping from an "already-low 5.6%". As a point of interest, South Korea has an unemployment rate in the threes (link). Interesting but beside the point.

6) Bush is underfunding homeland security.

Who are you to say? How can you make that determination? Homeland security funding goes as such:

1. 2001: $0 (did not exist)


2. 2002: $19.5 Billion


3. 2003: $33.5 Billion + $6.71 Billion in supplemental funding


4. 2004: $36.2 billion (link)

Homeland Security funding has increased 106% since its creation. Underfunded?

Well, it's normal for trolls here to not really make sense, so I'll attempt to figure out what you mean. As for the tax cuts - I certainly noticed them. I don't even own a house. Nor am I that "rich". (Hint: the _really_ rich? They don't pay taxes. They can afford $100k for a guy to make sure their tax bill is close to nothing).

A large part of your problem is you want something to be true, so you're going to make it true in your head.

If we have a tax system set up. Denny pays $1 in taxes. CavTrooper pays $2 in taxes, addison pays $6 in taxes, and I pay $10 in taxes. We have a "tax cut" and reduce taxes by 1/2. Who gets the most "benefit?" Well, I do - I save $5! Denny only saves $.50! What injustice! I'm getting "more" of the "cut" (actually, the government is _taking less_. When you talk about "giving" cuts in government seizures, you give yourself away)

Now, let's set it up similar to how we have taxes. If you make under a certain amount, you don't pay taxes... Now, Denny and Cav trooper are not paying *any* taxes. But when we get the tax cut - they don't "get anything" out of it (actually, they'd probably get tax credits, thus MAKE MONEY, but that's a longer issue). So I "get" $5! And Denny gets $0. That's so unfair, right? Denny "gets" nothing and I "get" $5! That's exactly what the "tax cut" did.

50% of the "wage earners" pay 96.03% of federal income tax. That's right. 50% is paying for almost everybody else.

I realize that most of you dickwads are too stupid to have your own web sites. I mean, you can't even do it on Blowspot. Now how dumb is that? And those of you who do have websites have content that is so full of crap that no one wants to go there. So what to do? Why not go to other web sites that people actually read and post your bullshit there? That way, maybe someone will finally read what you perceive to be wisdom. Unfortunately, most of those readers will be smart enough to know that it is total bullshit.

Let me give y'all some advice. If you are gonna troll in comments, do it on a post that is less than two weeks old. Posts older than that are usually off the front page and the only people who will read your comments are me or people who happen to be poking through my archives. Dontcha want all my readers to see how smart you are? That's one of the reasons you're trolling isn't it? Why not share your immense wisdom so all my readers can see exactly how smart you are?

Look At the Trolls

One of the problems of getting more successful is you get more troll infestations. I like to play Whack a Troll where I edit their comments to say sumpin' stupid (As if the bullshit they post isn't stupid enough.). It drives them nuts! They call me all sorts of names, and I continue to edit their comments. I have one French troll who shows the persistence the French used to plant all those trees in Paris so the Germans could march in the shade.

Today I got a new troll who goes by the name of Robert McClellan. He even has his own web site. Not giving you the link because that is one of the reasons these guys troll. No one wants to visit their lame websites, so they deposit their troll droppings at other sites hoping against hope that someone just might visit their site and they may get more than two hits a day.

My French troll goes by various names. I'll just call him Frankie the Frenchie. Anyway, my good friend Jesse got me pictures of these two guys. It seems they are friends. Hell they might even be related.

What a beautiful weekend it was in Beautiful Dunwoody Georgia. The azaleas are almost in full bloom. The dogwoods are getting there too. The creeping phlox on the Great Berm of Dunwoody is in full bloom. In two more years, I will have the entire berm covered with it. Anyway, I'm making a slight modification to the rules. That modification is introducing Whack a Troll. Rather than deleting comments and banning the troll, I edit the comments and repost them. Have you ever heard the saying "Don't pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel"? In the Blogosphere it is "Don't pick a fight with a blogger on his site when he can edit your comments". I love it when they rave about censorship and how unfair it is. Tough shit. If you don't like it, don't troll my site.

Also, in my rules, I specify that when you insult me, make it amusing. If your comment has a good insult, I may just leave it in. Be creative. Ooops! If you are a liberal that may be hard.

Equality and Empire

Men & Women complement each other by the unique traits we were each given:

MEN:
Men are good at lifting heavy shit and killing bugs.

I did not write the above, but I posted it to point out diferences between men and women. Somehow I think a woman wrote it.

Before I went diving I posted sumpin'that Sandy P. put in my comments. The basic premise was that men and women are not equal. This attracted a troll named Denise who put forth lots of bullshit and specious arguments by putting words in Sandy P's mouth or twisting them around. Then she said, which contradicted her own arguments Men and women are very different, but still equal.

Huh? If they are different, how can they be equal?

Anyway, I get back from the trip in mid-debate and I posted the following:

Denise - I have this to say about all the equality bullshit: "some people are more equal than others". We will never have equality because it is impossible. I'm a cripple, so physically I'm not equal to you.

She replied:

If this is true, then why does United States law not recognize this so-called "fact." Why don't law makers accept that not everyone is equal and make laws accordingly? US law regards every citizen as equal. Do have a problem with the way your government defines equality, Denny?

By golly, they do and I do. There is the Civil Rights Act. There is the Americans with Disabilities Act. The gummint has been passing all sorts of laws trying to establish equality or remedying real (or perceived) inequalities for the entire existence of this nation. In some cases they have gone overboard. She also pointed out that the United States Constitution guarantees U.S. citizens equal protection under the law. Does that make us equal? To paraphrase Clinton, it all depends on what your meaning of "equal" is. "Some people are more equal than others". Ted Kennedy can be drunk, run a car with a woman passenger off a bridge, save his own hide, leave the passenger to drown, leave the scene of the accident and get away with it. Had I done the same, I would have gone to jail.

I was much too indulgent of Denise, because what started the whole thing was Sandy P's premise that men and women were not equal and anyone intellectually honest would agree with that.

We then went off on another tangent about the "American Empire". One troll started it and Denise picked up on it. I suggested that she read Bill Whittle on why we were not an empire, because I was too lazy to post the links where I had discussed this both here and here.

Since she didn't want to read Bill Whittle and admit she was wrong she responded but 'Bill Whittle' says "jump" and you say "how high, billy?" You run a blog and you admit you can't even formulate a good argument for yourself.

No offence to Bill, but I do not jump when he tells me to. I even think his essays, though well written, are too long and challenge the intelligence of someone like Denise.

Uh oh! Name calling. That's right, because she called me a moron. Now it wasn't that she called me a moron that pissed me off, but that she violated one of The Rules namely, Number 4. which states:

If you do insult me or others, try to make it an amusing insult. "Ha. Ha. Ha. You sure are stupid" is lame. "You have alzheimers" is lame. "If your brains were TNT, you wouldn't have enough to blow your nose" is good. Come up with sumpin' like that and you can stay a little longer. I want to be amused. If I'm not amused you're gone. Why can I do that? See rule number 1.

Moron does not qualify. Here are two for you Denise:

1. You are so ugly that even Bill Clinton wouldn't ask you for a blowjob.

2. I've stumbled over better looking skanks than you looking for a place to masturbate.

Now let's look at this empire stuff again. Denise was nice enough to provide the dictionary's definition.

1. a. A political unit having an extensive territory or comprising a number of territories or nations and ruled by a single supreme authority.

b. The territory included in such a unit.

2. Supreme power; sovereignty; sway; dominion.

By that very definition the United States is not an empire unless we count the 50 states as "territories". One of our actual territories is Puerto Rico. We have offered it independence many times. Guam, another territory, can become independent if it wants. Like Puerto Rico it prefers to remain a territory because we spend more money on it that we receive from it. Puerto Rico and Guam do not make us an empire. I cannot think of any country (not territory) in the world over which we have supreme power with the exception of Afghanistan and Iraq and our stated goal is to turn them into self governing independent countries as we did with Germany and Japan.

She might have a case with the sway part, but wouldn't you think we could have gotten our neighbors, Canada and Mexico to vote with us on the UN resolution to take action against Iraq? And just recently the Philippines asked us to vacate the Subic Bay Naval Base and we did. We're looking to leave Saudi Arabia. I'll bet if South Korea asked us to leave, we would, but I doubt if they will do that since we're protecting them from North Korea.

Another argument was her statement that we had the military deployed in 140 nations worldwide and obviously that projection of military power was proof that we were an empire. Wow! 140 nations? I just checked the United Nations web site and there there are only 191 member nations. The fact that we had a military presence in 140 of them really sounded farfetched.

I have to give her credit. She did provide some links and they were U.S. Gummint links so I guess I have to accept them. But then I realized why we do, in fact, have the military stationed in 140 nations. At almost every United States Embassy we have United States Marine guards. That explains it. An American embassy, some Marines. Hardly proof of an empire.

Lots of words to say men are not equal to women and there is no American empire. And what I say goes because This Is My Blog and if you don't like it click here.

French Trolls and Youthful Idealism

I've had some Frogs trolling my French Bashing posts and, by golly, they whre are smart. I am in awe of their intelligence and their cogent debating skills. Here's one. Not the originality of his fake e-mail address.

In 1777, Lafayette purchased a ship, and with a crew of adventurers set sail for America to fight in the revolution against the British. Lafayette joined the ranks as a major general and was assigned to the staff of George Washington. He served with distinction, leading America forces to several victories. On a return visit to France in 1779 Lafayette persuaded the French government to send aid to the Americans. After the British surrender at Yorktown, Lafayette returned home to Paris. He had become a hero to the new nation. At home he cooperated closely with Ambassadors Benjamin Franklin, and then Thomas Jefferson in behalf of American interests.

Well blow me away. Of course we owe a debt of gratitude to Lafayette and France. When we rescued France in World War I, our soldiers exclaimed, "Lafayette, we are here." But the French did not come to our aid during the Revolutionary War for purely altruistic reasons. If they had not been at war with England I doubt if they would had helped us. So we were even. We pay our debts. But then we rescued France yet again in World War II, and speaking of debts, France never paid their war debt to us. We also defended France and the rest of Europe from The Soviet Union during the Cold War, and we had no help whatsover from the feckless Frogs. So what's your point dipshit? France helped us once. We helped France three times and when the EU sinks into bankruptcy and anarchy, we will probaly help again.

I just loved this one. I guess it must of been the Germans who don't shave their armpits. I know I saw it somewhere in Europe. It's the French who don't bathe. And Julia Roberts representing America? Puh-lease! GMAFB! And have I ever been to France? Yep! I was there in 1987. I thought Parisians to be the rudest people I have ever met in my entire life, but hell, even the French who don't live in Paris hate the Parisians. The people in Honfleur weren't too bad. In fact, the concierge at the hotel did not make fun of my attempts to speak French. I also saw the graves at Normandy. Maybe you should go there and see how many people died to keep your pitiful country free. And by your spelling, I don't believe that you are an American but a filthy, smelly Frog.

And now for the last comment. It was obviously written by a very naive young lady who still burns bright with the glow of youthful idealism. Unlike the two previous dipshits, I do not want to insult her, but to point out the errors in her thought processes.

I happened across this site and I was in a dilemma about whether to post or not, because I knew my views would soon be either deleted or mocked. However I would like to say them anyway and I hope that you will be good and open-minded enough to listen to me and consider my opinion, as I did yours.

One of the reasons I allow comments is to have a reasonable discourse. I have actually admitted to a troll that I was wrong about sumpin'. And you can ask Grognard about this. He and I do not agree about the Palestinian problem (other than the fact that Arafat must die, sooner rather than later) but we have been able to honestly debate about the situation both in my comments and offline. I enjoy debating people with differing opinions as long as they use intelligent and honest arguments. Unfortunately, most trolls are unable to do that. If commenters start out a discussion with "you are an ignorant redneck" or "you are so stupid", I know that they are full of shit. I usually make fun of them or let some of my more intelligent commenters do so.

When I came across your site, at the beginning I thought that it was tongue-in-cheek. When I continue down to find it was not, I almost had a heart attack at the age of fifteen, my heart was going so fast! The thing is that I have a huge problem with what you wrote, but I don't want to descend to being rude like you (British have a thing about manners I'm afraid.)

Is Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, who is starving his opposition equal to Desmond Tutu. Or was Stalin equal to Mother Teresa? And, I'm sorry that I cannot take the UN seriously on human rights when they have Syria and Libya on the Human Rights Commisssion.

I also do not believe that you have more freedoms than the rest of the Western World, if I stood up in Time Square, New York and talked about my fears of America, I would be torn apart by a Lynch Mob, is that really freedom?

I do not know where you are getting this idea that America is a repressive state. If you stood up in Times Square and talked about your fears of America you would not be torn apart by a lynch mob. There would be people who aqreed with you and people who would laugh at you, but no one would tear you apart. In Times Square you would probably have more to fear from perverts, winos, and pedophiles. We have freedom of speech in this country and we will allow anyone to say just about anything. e.g. Michael Moore, Alec Baldwin, Barbra Streisand, Ed Asner, Martin Sheen, George Clooney Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins. I agree that you are richer than every other country, but mainly it is by making other Countries an awful lot poorer. For example by pushing in all your cheap food exports into countries like Haiti, so local farmers starve. I also agree that America is more powerful, but this is what gives me nightmares at night, no other country can control you, you could kill everyone with your Nuclear Weapons, as we have seen a Prophecy of in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, but it would be thousand times worse.

Yet, at the end of World War II, when we stood alone, the most powerful country in the world what did we do? Did we tell the Soviet Union to get out of Eastern Europe or we'd nuke Moscow? Nope. We went home and downsized our military just like we have done after every other war.

I must admit that as a normal, white, middle-class, privately educated British schoolgirl, I am more scared about what the USA can/will do (only a matter of time) than what the Axis of Evil can do. And I know that nobody can stop you with your army, the largest in the world, being bigger than the next nine put together, that's what makes me cry.

We did not start the War on Terror. War was declared on us on September 11, 2001. America has always been slow to anger. But, when you piss us off we react. You do not need to worry about the United States nuking your country. You do have to worry about radical Islam using weapons of mass destruction.

Why should France be de-nuked? They have as much right to have Nuclear Weapons as America.

We haven't called for France to be de-nuked.

Just because we live in Europe, do not treat us like we are undeveloped, uncivilised savages, because we are not.

I Love Trolls

I love trolls. I really do. It's like having your own personal Robert Fisk. Also, I get to read the comments of xCavTrooper as he totally eviscerates them. Addison does a good job also. Unfortunately, after you throw enough facts and logic at them they slink away. Matthew lasted about two weeks here. The folks over at Rantburg really miss Murat. Here's hoping that barney will stick around a while because he is just so much fun to play with and is a textbook example of how liberals debate. xCavTrooper has documented lots of this in the previous week's comments.

A good example of chutzpah, is someone who murders both of his parents and then throws himself on the mercy of the court because he is an orphan. Follwing is another example of chutzpah from barney in one of his comments from yesterday:

I'm still trying to figger out where he said I claimed victory and ran away. OK Let's examine this a bit. You notice right from the start, he starts calling me names. That's one of the things liberals do when they are losing arguments. In an earlier comment he called me a Nazi, and I had every right to invoke Godwin's Law, but I didn't.

Let's examine the arguments that I ran away from.

Fulbright - Google Clinton Fulbright vietnam and see what you get. There are countless places on the net that document exactly how Fulbright pulled strings for Clinton and got him out of the draft. I'll let my readers decide this one.

Liberal ploy - any source that doesn't agree with your argument is suspect.

Hillary's book - Hillary got $8 million on a book deal and she was cleared of wrong doing by the Senate Ethics (oxymoron altert) Committee. I'll give barney this one, really. It's the truth. I just pointed out that, in my opinion, it was unethical. Of course, barney didn't mention the Clinton pardons.

Liberal ploy - Everyone does it. Look at Newt Gingrich. OK. Newt was censured and paid a fine. He took his lumps like a man.

Clinton doing nothing to capture terrorists - barney suggested this link Cool. I asked him about the embassy bombings in Africa, more specifically, Kenya and Tanzania. He called me an idiot (always use name calling) and said the Saudis beheaded them. I said no the embassy bombings. He still stuck to the Khobar Towers and the marine barracks. According to his link, four people have been captured and 16 remain at large. So some of the people have been caught. Interestingly enough, on the eve of Monica Lewinski's testimony, Clinton lobbed some cruise missiles into the Sudan and wiped out an aspirin factory and lobbed some into Afghanistan and took out some goats. Evidently Clinton didn't do enough since we had the Cole and 9/11. And more on the Afghanistan strike a little later in this post.

Cuba's dry foot policy - barney said he had to teach me about a policy that had absolutely nothing to do with Elian. Even under Bush's policy, not that it matters, Elian would have been allowed to stay because he made it to shore. And he took me to task for calling the federal agents who kicked in the door and scared the bejesus out of Elian goons. "Those were federal agents", he said. What do you want to bet that barney thinks John Ashcroft is a Nazi? And any federal agent who kicks in a door in the name of national security is a Nazi and a goon? This is one area where I somewhat agree with barney, except I'm more consistent. I think excessive force was used to get Elian from the house. I think that bullshit is wrong no matter who is president. I believe, and I may be wrong, that barney thinks only federal agents are Nazis during Republican administrations.

Liberal ploy - make false comparisons.

War costing $20 billion + $2 billion a month - Dammit! I worked out the math for him. Something only costs what you actually spend on it. I even gave him an example. Suppose a bank lent him $10,000 to buy a car. He found a car for $5,000 and bought it instead. How much did the car cost? I guess barney would say it cost $10,000. If we continue to spend $2 billion a month for another 15 months, then the war will cost $79 billion. Once again, I will let my readers decide who is right. BTW, he chided us for getting all of our news from right wing news organizations. So, I gave him this link and he still wasn't satisfied.

liberal ploy - Ignore all facts and logic that does not conform to your beliefs. Even when these facts come from left wing sources.

Jay Bookman's editorial I had to explain it to you - No, you actually called me stupid because I didn't understand it. You never explained it to me. Even Jay Bookman couldn't explain it to me. To you it made sense, because you are a liberal. Y'all think different from the rest of us.

Osama bin Laden's Courage - This came about from the liberal ploy of defining the war against terrorism as catching Osama bin Laden. I said that I think binny is either hiding in a cave somewhere or is pushing up daisies. barney gave me this link to NPR to support his statement that binny was alive and well and still raising hell. Funny, I saw nothing there about bin Laden after 9/11. But here's sumpin' from that same transcript about Clinton's missile strike:

It is not known why the Americans chose a camp in Khost to retaliate. The camp was an almost deserted camp where only few Arabs have stayed, with a neighboring camp of Kashmiris. Bin Laden himself was hundreds of miles away, and the rest of Arab Afghans were in the northern front celebrating their recent victories.

Remember, Clinton said he just missed him by a few hours. Anyway, back to binny. The last time we saw him he looked like shit. He had his left arm dangling with his hand behind his back. Binny is lefthanded. We've had a few audio tapes from him, maybe, but I think he's scared shitless or dead. Why no more videotapes? Once again, I leave it up to my readers.

And, I'm sorry I misunderstood your question about my statement that liberals think the only reason socialism has never worked is because the right people have not been in charge or enough money has not been thrown at it. I thought you were asking about examples of failed socialist countries. I didn't realize you were asking me what liberals said that. Sorry can't name one. Why do you think socialism has never worked anywhere it has been tried? Or if you don't agree with that statement, why do you think socialism failed in the USSR, Cuba, the Warsaw Pact nations, Zimbabwe, and coming soon France (10% unemployment and getting worse with a looming Muslim problem) and Germany (High unemployment and still trying to recover from reunification with East Germany.).

The American Empire

What an incredibly beautiful weekend we had here in Beautiful Dunwoody. It rained the entire time my sister was here, so I only got one of my outdoor projects done while they were here. I was hoping to get lots of weeding done and plant some more bushes. Alas, it wasn't in the cards. So after they left, the weather turned beautiful. Today I weeded the Great Berm of Dunwoody. I was also able to plant some more creeping phlox and scatter six bales of pine straw.

As I was working, I got to thinking about our new budddy Matthew. Matthew thinks there is an American Empire. For example, he thinks that we have conquered Canada and Mexico. Here are his exact words:

America has already conquered Canada and Mexico, it's called NAFTA and the FTAA.

I'm sure Mexico and Canada would be surprised to hear about that. It's too bad we couldn't get them to help us in the UN. But he's not done.

It's been established that the coup against Hugo Chavez is linked to Bush, so I guess the American government has already tried to take over Venezuela as well.

And we have space aliens at Area 51 in Roswell.

Since Matthew is so fond of giving us definitions, I looked up empire in the dictionary. An empire is a nation having sovereign power over a group of nations.

So, let's look at some of our provinces. Let's see, there's Canada. Dammit! Why are we paying for their oil? Let's just take it. What about Mexico? Same thing.

I'm sure Puerto Rico is also an example. Puerto Rico holds periodic elections to decide whether it wants statehood, independence, or to remain a US possession. I guess we rig the elections. Since Puerto Rico has no oil, why do we even bother with it?

He also states that we're an empire because we have troops stationed in other countries. Didn't see that definition anywhere, but let's address that.

In WWII, we kicked the Germans out of Matthew's country, France, (You're welcome), so I guess you could say we 'conquered' France. Any troops stationed there? We were asked to leave. We did. We're really fucking up this empire bullshit.

We do have troops in Germany, which we 'conquered' in WWII. I guess Germany must be another one of our provinces. Now if we were a half-assed decent empire, dontcha think we would be making the Germans pay for our troops? And why was Herr Schroeder against us? Jesus, we can't even install decent puppet rulers in our provinces. Dumb Americans. We don't do anything right.

How about our province of Japan? We have troops stationed there. We're not charging the Japanese anything for those troops. And we run a balance of trade deficit with them. Not a very well managed empire. The damn provinces are supposed to pay for themselves and they ain't doing it.

Now, let's talk about the Middle East. I won't even ask the obvious question about what would France do if someone flew a Concorde into the Eiffel Tower because everyone knows that they would try to find someone to surrender to.

Contrary to what we have been telling y'all, we did not go into Iraq for WMD's. That was just an excuse. We went in because it is a state that sponsors terrorism. The prime example is paying the families of Palestinian suicide bombers $25K. I'm sure we will find that Iraq sponsored other forms of terrorism.

By taking down Iraq, we have made the other Middle East states realize that we are tired of being fucked with. If you kill Americans we will get pissed off and we will respond. And Matthew, I do believe an American life is worth more than an Arab life. We don't brainwash our children to grow up and strap on explosive belts and blow up women and children. They are evil. They are depraved. They are fucking cowards.

We will do the same thing in this war that we have done in our other wars. We will rebuild Iraq, just like we rebuilt France (You're welcome. The Marshall Plan was paid for by American taxpayers. By the way, where is the money you owe us from WWII you ungrateful assholes?) and Germany. We will try to leave Iraq a better place than we found it. Maybe an Arab country will not be able to have a democratic form of gummint. Yeah, I know, I said a democratic form of gummint. In this context, I mean self rule. And, then we'll go home. Before that, we may have to have a little talk with Syria and Iran. We may have to clean up the entire Middle East. Why us? Because we're the only counrty with the power to do it. We're the only country willing to do it.

And, if we succeed, we'll pack up and go home.

Lies, Damn Lies, and Statistics

Dammit! I thought the title of this blog was a quotation from Disraeli. I googled it and found a bunch of references to the West Wing. I went to Bartlett's and searched and had no luck. I'm sure one of my erudite readers will find the source and enlighten me.

My sister and her husband have moved on to Westville, South Carolina, where they will be attending a family reunion. They will leave their pickup truck there and fly back to California. They have sold their house, so they will be transporting another car east in June and will stop by then. They will be living at my brother-in-law's mother's home in Westville until they can find or build a house in Asheville, North Carolina. So, if it weren't for Toren Smith and Bill Quick, it wouldn't bother me too much if the big one hit and dropped California in the ocean. Good riddance to Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, and Diane Feinstein.

As you can tell, now that my sister has left, I can now get on my computer for an extended period, and I'm fixin' to revert back to my grouchy old self.

Matthew and I have been trading comments about the war and other topics. I realize he is French and, is therefore suffering from an inferiority complex because France ceased to be a world power after the Vichy gummint welcomed the Germans into France. Ever since, from Charles De Gaulle to Jerque Sheetrock, they have been trying to become a world power with no success. Now, it seems they have picked the losing side in the war with Iraq, and are now demanding to have a say in the reconstruction. Too bad. Y'all lose. Fuck off!

In his last comment, Matthew was actually polite so I won't call him an idiot. I will try to explain to him exactly why he is wrong.

Nope. America does not have a democracy. America has a constitutional republic. Our founders planned it that way. A democracy is two wolves and a chicken voting for what is for dinner. Democracy is mob rule. We do hope we can set up some form of representational gummint.

He then puts out some voting statistics about why America is unqualified to set up a gummint in Iraq.

I agree that our voter turnout is low, but what does that have to do with us setting up a gummint in Iraq? One of the reasons we have low voter turnout is, unlike most of the western industrialized nations, our election day is not a holiday.

Now it's on to hunger. Matthew stated that 33 million people in the United States (over 10% of the population!) suffered from hunger and, by golly, he had the statistics to back it up. Since he accused me of pulling statistics out of my ass, I asked him what methodology was used to come up with those figures. He was nice enough to give me the link to his source.

What is food security?
Food security for a household means access by all members at all times (emphasis mine) to enough food for an active, healthy life. Food security includes at a minimum (1) the ready availability of nutritionally adequate and safe foods, and (2) an assured ability to acquire acceptable foods in socially acceptable ways (that is, without resorting to emergency food supplies, scavenging, stealing, or other coping strategies).

OK. That's food security. Let's look at two questions on the survey.

In the last 12 months, did you ever not eat for a whole day because there wasn't enough money for food?

When I was in the Navy, in 1965, and I was married, I could answer yes to this question. Did that mean I would have been one of the 33 million?

In the last 12 months, did any of the children ever skip a meal because there wasn't enough money for food?

Look closely. This is one day out of 365. Anyone reading this want to say they have fallen into this category and yet, were surprised to find that the Department of Agriculture thought that they were starving?

Notice that every question specifies the time period (last 12 months) and specifies lack of resources as the reason for the behavior.

Ooops! Ran out of money. Looks like it's peanut butter and jelly sandwiches until payday.

I want to thank Matthew for providing the link to the survey and I suggest that my readers go out and look at it and the methodology used to determine our 'hunger crisis'.

Yep. We got people dropping like flies due to starvation in this country. And, still, we have people who are doing everything in their power to get in to the United States. I guess all those people must be fucking idiots.

Well, by golly, I've been fisked by Mathew in the comments section of my We're Gonna Fail in Iraq post. Ironies abound. He takes my sis' neighbor to task for saying that someone else had to write the op-ed because no way Arabs could write that well. He then makes fun of my sis neighbor's sentence construction. Matthew, it just so happens that my sis' neighbor is Chinese and English is his second language. I think he writes very well. And, as I pointed out, one of the writers lives in Dawsonville Georgia and I suspect he has an excellent command of the language. But let's address some of your other points.

Just like Americans will use any pathetic excuse to kill Muslims in the Middle East.

First off, we are not told by our religious leaders to kill Muslims. The Muslims, on the other hand, are told by their religious leaders to kill Jews. Check out Little Green Footballs when he posts excerpts from sermons at Friday prayers. As for using any excuse to kill Muslims? What a crock of shit.

Iran, in violation of international law, took 52 American diplomats hostage for 444 days. That was a pretty good reason to kill some Muslims. We didn't.

Back when Israel chased the Palestinians into Beirut in the 80's, it was the United States that called the Jews off and put Marines in to protect the Palestinians and let them escape. Hezbollah thanked us by blowing up the Marine barracks. I thought we should have gone into the Bekaa Valley and killed us a few Muslims. We didn't.

After the first WTC bombing we didn't go into the Middle East and kill us some Muslims. After the Khobar Towers bombing we didn't kill us any Muslims. After the embassy bombings we didn't kill us any Muslims. After the USS Cole we didn't kill us any Muslims. It wasn't until 9/11 that we said that enough was enough. We have been very restrained. And lest you forget, it was the Kuwaitis who invited us in, and the precious United Nations, that backed the first Gulf War.

Remember the Americans have been heavily involved in what goes on in the Arab world for the past 50 yrs. It is now impossible for any American to look at the Middle East without taking partial responsibility for the problems. That's what you get for having the CIA meddle in other people's business, you cannot claim innocence from the resulting problems.

GMAFB! What have the Arabs done with all their oil money. The rulers build palaces and live high while the ordinary people are ignored. Why haven't the Arabs done anything about the 'Palestinian problem'? Why do they leave the Palestinians in the squalor of the refugee camps? So they can piss off the Arab street and use the United States and Israel as scapegoats for their failures. If it weren't for the oil, the Arabs and the Iranians would be third world pissant countries. Wait a minute! Even with the oil, they are third world pissant countries. Nice try Matthew. Arab culture was a failure even before the creation of Israel and before the United States was involved in the Middle East.

Case in point, Reagan's man in the middle east Saddam Hussein. First we have Reagan arming Saddam and vetoing a bill that would put sanctions on Iraq for the gassing of the kurds, then we have Bush (another Repulican president) saying 15 years later Saddam has to be punished for the same incident.

You've been reading too much Robert Fisk. Reagan did arm Saddam Hussein but that was when he was fighting Iran. And, the gassing of the Kurds (BTW Kurds should be capitalized.) was deplorable. So was what Saddam did to the Shi'ites. We should have overthrown Saddam during Gulf War I, but it was the precious United Nations, and the Arabs who stopped us. When the Shi'ites in the south revolted we did nothing and watched as Saddam slaughtered them. That was a mistake. We are not making that mistake this time.

Are you suprised the people of Iraq don't want to "liberated" by a country with a schizophrenic foreign policy? Can the Repulicans find any consistency in where they stand? Someone should tell Bush that arriving 15 years late for a genocide doesn't gain you anyone's respect, in fact it makes your motives look very suspicious.

I will grant you the schizophrenic foreign policy, but that's what you get in a democracy. And remember, in that 15 years, we had 8 years of Bill Clinton. And, due to the other Arab nations in the coalition, we didn't overthrow Saddam back in Gulf War I when we should have. We are rectifying that mistake now. And maybe you should stop watching al-Jazerera and reading al-Guardian. As soon as Saddam's thugs leave a town, the people are very happy to see us.

Democracy is destined for failure in the middle east because it's being implemented in a violent imperialist way. It doesn't matter how good the democracy is at it's core, if you have to kill the people of iraq to implement it they will interpret it as another in a long line of attempts to control their their oil potential.

If democracy fails in the Middle East it will be because Arabs are incapable of it. Do you remember WWII. It seems to me we implemented democracy in Japan in a 'violent imperialistic way'. And it seems to be working in Japan. And as for imperialistic, show me the American Empire. We always pack up and go home.

The dictionary definition of democracy says "the commmon people, considered as the primary source of political power" & "The principles of social equality and respect for the individual within a community."

Something that we do not see in the Arab world in the way that women are treated as chattel. Check out some of our women like Jessica Lynch.

Is this what we are demonstrating to the common people of iraq right now when we bomb them? Can we say we consider the common people of iraq as the source of their own political power when we don't even give them the basic choice to say "no thanks" to a violent implementation of a so called democracy?

Iraq should be capitalized, Matthew. The common people in Iraq, under Saddam Hussein had no choice. As we always do, we will rebuild the country, turn the gummint over to the Iraqi people, and leave. I defy you to find any country in the history of this planet that after winning wars, rebuilt the countries they defeated and went home. We have and we will.

America was built by the English Empire, making it fall into the category of "countries that used to have "empire" attached to them."

So, because we were once part of the Engish Empire, that makes us an imperialist power? Huh? And, once again, show me the American Empire.

America wants Iraq for the oil, France wants Iraq for the oil, and Russia wants Iraq for the oil. What's the difference? France and Russia do business, America kills civilians in B-52 bombing raids.

It's all about oil!!!! If all we were interested in was oil, it would be far easier to conquer Canada, Mexico, or Venezuela. Why go all the way to Iraq? Matthew this is WWIV (WWIII was the Cold War). To root out terrorism, we need to defeat the countries that sponsor terrorism. And when all the facts are in, we will find out that American bombs killed fewer Iraqis that Saddam Hussein. If we were really interested in killing civilians why aren't we carpet bombing Baghdad? We have soldiers being killed because they don't want to harm civilians as proven by the two car bombings. Saddam's thugs are using our humanity against us.

But why am I not surprised that Matthew is so deluded? He has a link to a Robert Fisk website 'documenting' all the Iraqi civilains harmed by the 'indiscriminate' Anglo-American bombing.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I know. Matthew is a troll and he is obviously an ardent disciple of Robert Fisk. With any luck, he can go to Iraq and get the shit kicked out of him by some of Saddam's thugs and like his idol Fisk, he can say he deserved it.
