Comments on: Colonoscopy Prep

Sounds like fun! I had that done when I was twenty-eight weeks pregnant with my son. So needless to say I did not get any drugs or anything to ease the pain (I had a kink in the ureter that required a stent). Of course I don't think they will have to shove a chrome rod in your pee-hole clear up to your kidney. Now that's alotta fun! Good luck, I feel your pain.

I feel for you. Does not sound like fun to me.

Yeah, being a crip is rather less than glamorous. Last night, my bladder got me up at 2:30 am ... and, in the pitch black bathroom, I fell. Hard. Managed not to hit my head, but pulled muscles and got pretty bruised up. The final indignity was that, lying there, I could not get back up for a looooong while, plenty long enough that I no longer needed to use the toilet, but needed a mop instead.

D'ya think times like this are just the price we pay for riding around in cool power chairs, getting the best parking spots? Good luck. You'll need it.

But just think of all the blog fodder you'll be generating.

But seriously, it sounds like it's time to go laptop and WiFi.

I think Ralph has the answer you're looking for! Hell, I like his answer for myself!
Good luck with your tests; they aren't fun, I know; been there and done that.

If I was locked up in the bathroom for 6-8 hours, I would definitely set up the computer and a television to give me some entertainment. Hell, with all that smell has to come a little glory.

Mr. Gizzip is right about WiFi...wouldn't it be more fun to blog from the throne rather than just sit there and read a bunch of crap? No pun intended.

Seriously, good luck with the procedures. Hope you get (or got, depending on when you see this) some good drugs out of it, at least.

Wish you well on your trip to doc!

Been there, done that. Hope it turns out all right,\but it is better to know that not to know. Next year again for me. Perhaps by then they will have that swallow the camera pill ready.

My mother has the same stuff quite regularly. She has Diverticulitis (sp). She has to drink golightly, they gve her several gallons. YUCK. My sympathies, and best wishes.

I had to have an IVP last summer, and they gave me a small bottle of something that tasted like sweat. I couldn't finish it; spent the next several hours throwing up. Then when I had my surgery they tried the golightly. couldn't finish that either. Didn't seem to make any difference, however. I hadn't had that much to eat the day before. Good luck on your colonoscopy. It'll be over about ten seconds after you start crying, right?

Good luck, Denny. Tell me how it was, as I'm going to have to get one soon.

colonoscopy prep is the worse thing to have to put ones' body through I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I don't know how anyone can drink the nasty (what was it 4 (2-liters bottles worth). Myself I was never so happy the tub was next to the toilet when I had projectile vomitting from the prep.
The test itself isn't bad -knocked out and don't feel anything unless come out of the drugs like I did but hey they gave me more.
I am so sorry you have to do it. I have been there it took a year for my HMO to finally give me surgery and fix me.

Good luck with your tests! They don't sound like a lot of fun!

After this morning's hearings, I would wish that Boxer and Kerry be sentenced to weekly colonoscopies. With sandpaper scopes.

Denny, your positive attitude is an inspiration! Best of luck. And dittos on the WiFi/laptop suggestion.
